The guys from Steelhead Outdoors come to Randy's office in Bozeman, Montana to set up three new modular gun safes. Randy needs to not only protect guns, but also ammo and footage.
He gets two gun safe for all his rifles and shotguns, and one safe dedicated to just ammo. These guns safes are unique in that they are modular, meaning you can put them in hard to get places where a preassembled safe wouldn't allow. Additionally, when you move you don't have to leave your safe behind, instead you can disassemble and take it with you.

“Assembly bolts are only accessible from the inside, so the door must be open to assemble or disassemble” Hard to tell but definitely one of the questions that came to mind when I saw Allen bolts hold on the exterior hinges.

It looks like the best part of these gun saves is they can be put together inside which would eliminate the bulk and the weight of trying to move them into place

$3,200 delivered compared to an equivalent size Cabela's delivered for $1,000, so its definitely looking for that particular shopper who plans on moving around a bunch to warrant 3x in cost.

@@it_is_what_it_is_brotha there are a lot of upper end features beyond the modularity, when looking at a larger manufacturers spec sheets, you have to go “up the food chain” quite a ways before you get to 1/2 inch reinforced door jambs, 1/2 inch lock plates, bearing lock hard plates, S&G Titan direct drive locks, etc.

While I agree with your point, steelhead, the majority of folks cannot justify spending 3-6 times the price for details like this.
It’s ok though, you don’t need to be a Toyota and be accessible to each person, you can be a Porsche and be in a niche market.

I love the design and versatility of this, BUT… you can get a good 30 minute fire rated safe for around $400-600 bucks for 12-16 long guns. Their cheapest is $2700. At some point we’ve gotta do a better job offering people realistic products. I like good gear as much as the next guy, but wearing $3000 in clothing, having a $1500 pair of binos and then shooting a 3k gun with a 2k optic isn’t realistic for 99.999999 if hunters out there. And this is much of the same. But I also get that there are perks of being a famous sponsored hunter and I’m not hating on that since I’d be all about it too.

Exactly, but it goes further than that. It seems like a lot of these online brands are either selling or supporting (and supported) these ultra expensive products and I think it may be turning some away. Out of all the gear that I see these CZcams hunting channels sponsoring, I can name ONE that is realistic for a lot of folks and that’s the meat eater rifle. Those folks peddle some expensive and unrealistic shit (like 1k tree stands and 300 dollar jackets and pants) but that one is a true bargain of a rifle for $750-$900

My husband and I have one of these safes and we love it!! Please, please, please educate yourselves on safes in general before making a comment about these highly-engineered products. We researched safes for 3 mos - looked at all the brands - watched all the videos and asked questions on everything from fire rating to moving. What we learned is not all safes are created equal. And not every safe will have ALL the attributes you desire. Oh sure, you can spend $15,000 on a safe with 90% of the attributes you want (diamond steel so a DeWalt can't cut it), but that last 10%? Well, that's actually moving the safe, which means you are selling it with the house, or hiring movers for hundreds of dollars. Corey and Charlie are two of the nicest, down-to-earth folks you'll meet and they'll answer every single question you have. So give them a chance!

Yeah, I can tell that these are good safes just by how thin the steel is. Better safes with high quality solid steel have thin walls and doors, vs the thick doors that are just thin sheet metal covering drywall.

Are these not bolted to the floor? Can they be bolted to the floor without drilling? I did go look at them, after my comment, and I still say they look like a file cabinet on the inside :). We recommend you check out our FAQ section on the website if you’d like to learn more. Modular safes have been around for a while, and if you compare our feature set with comparable traditional safes you will find that you have to go up the “food chain” quite a bit to get the quality of components used in our safes including bearing hard plates, 1/2 inch lock plates, 1/2 inch reinforced door jambs, and high end locks, just to name a few.

If you can easily put a traditional safe in your desired location: then it’s likely the best solution for you. If you have decided that a modular safe is a good solution for you, ours uses top quality components and is built in the USA.
