- In today’s video, I’ll go over my ownership experience with my 2017 #BMW F87 #M2 and let you know my overall thoughts on it as a daily driver. The car has been fantastic to own and it definitely helped me gain additional knowledge on the N55 platform as a whole. This car was the perfect upgrade to my E90 335i and I'm glad I made the right choice.

@@MotoGearTV I still have the ambition to do the same... but I feel I have a lack of time man. Beside that, I dont have a spectular car like the M2. It's my dream car, or definitely on the bucket list to have one day. I personally drive the Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake from 2016

Considering buying an M2 competition just now. thanks for the vid. also the bucket seats are sick on the old CSL models. Buy the Recaro Pole Positions (carbon fibre) and have them re-upholstered to look like the ones from back in the day that can retail for more than $10k (at least that's the price here in the UK).
Yes the pole position are nice I've seen the carbon non-bmw versions and its about $5k for the pair shipped to the US

Thank you for this well shot 📹 video, I really have been looking at an N55 M2 Recently, and have been ignoring outside opinions, it doesn’t matter to me what number the series is. This would be my first BMW and M car
I was looking for something similar to the e46 3 Series/ M3 because that was originally the first car I wanted before I could even drive as a kid.
Respect and yeah man the m2 is honestly one of the best all around M cars you can own… been enjoying mine so far with no complaints 👍🏾

Great video and content. Love the cinematics of your videos. Just picked up a 2018 M2 DCT just like yours black. This is my third M car and this one is by far the best one I’ve ever owned! Just an amazing car overall so happy I bought it. Plan on doing a bunch of modifications myself. I really like your blue seatbelts and was wondering how you got them to stay on the front of the seat because that bothers me as well can you tell me please thanks.
Awesome man glad you enjoyed the video and congrats on the M2🙌🏾 If you need any mods definitely let me know and as for the seatbelt, I just rest on my side bolster after I take it off, makes it much easier to grab when I get back in the car👍🏾

I love mine. I did full suspension upgrade and control arms as well and diff subframe upgrade.

Thank you for sharing, great video and details, I agree you should get to know the vehicle first before modding it out, that includes taking it out on a couple or autocrosses or track-days to understand what the existing suspension AKA weight transfer, chassis flex, sway bars, braking, tires and rims. You will know quick when you put that thing through the paces as stock,

Thank you I appreciate it and not bad options to consider, we have both platforms and they equally drive amazing but if you prefer something more modern with more power then M2 all day but the E92 sound and analog feel can’t be beat regardless no wrong choice either way you go👍🏾

I didn't think the BMW M2's came with adaptive dampening only the CS model.

I don’t even know why someone would buy a Supra over an m2 (comparing them because they’re similar in size and looks). The m2 looks way better and ends up sounding better when modified. (No hate on the b58 though, it is a great motor)
Both platforms are great in its own way, the M2 definitely gives a great driving experience all around but if I was going for straight line speed then Supra for sure👍🏾

Thanks for the question, I actually bought it used in 2021 so there weren’t any issues with it being over msrp and the customer service at the dealership was good

Love your og. Looking back if price was no object would you have e chosen this or the m2c? I got an 2018 m2 lci and the price difference was only 5k and I chose the og. I know people think that you can’t get power out of this car but I believe you can very well actually. If you factor in at least for me I wouldn’t mod an s55 without the crank hub and that’s a 4k job done correctly. Unless you were just doing a downpipe, intake and tune on the s55. Plus the n55b is probably my favorite sounding inline 6 from bmw.
I would probably still choose the OG m2 but perhaps get the LCI version instead. My car has plenty of power for the street and has the same dynamic handling as the M2C coded in. I agree the N55 is one of the best sounding turbo cars bmw makes and also one of the most reliable. I have no regrets getting the OG
@@MotoGearTV I completely agree. I am picking up the m2c aluminum and carbon fiber strut braces. Then coding in the steering. I want to go with either the pure 750 or a non stock frame turbo. I just want around 500-550whp on 93 which is very doable now. And you are correct the n55b is hella reliable. I too got some decent m4 seats that I will be taking to a custom upholstery shop to get them to put some nice leather on the arm rests , center console and seats , I’m going to make the seats a mix of leather snd alacantra with the same blue stitching.

Sad reality of these cars is people want th because of how they perform and sound and all you have to mod it and once you do that what ever little bit of “bmw reliability” it had goes straight out the window they look good sound good but if I’m gonna be hesitant to buy one with 100k on the clock I don’t want it and bmw is a car that yoir not gonna wanna buy unless it’a fairly new and for many reasons
I’m not sure if you’ve owned one of them before but I disagree…Mine is fully modded and I’ve yet to have any reliability issues and even before this one I had another with way more miles and still no problem. I think an issue most face is that they decide to mod their cars and not keep up with the maintenance or take the time to know what’s needed before modding. It’s a great car like any once you take the time to learn the platform.
