I thought they were knackered but having watched this, I learned that the buds are detachable and the connections can be cleaned. Brilliant!

    Hey man excellent review!
    I will say that I am a percussionist and turned to the Shure se425 and I wasn't impressed using with my digital drum kit and how the sound balance was. You're right the low end for me was completely missing and made it super tough to actually sit into the sound and be encapsulated by it?
    I use and love the MEE audio M7 PRO Universal-Fit Hybrid Dual-Driver Musician's in-Ear Monitors. I feel the sound drivers are much more in tune with what I hear live and it was a world of different when I switched back to them and returned the Shure se425.

      ObserverJLin I'd think so, because there's a fair price difference and someone mentioned in the comments earlier that they bought some SE215's and didn't like the sound of them so were gonna give the 425's a shot. If I were you I'd pay a bit more and go for the better ones. Tbh I wish I bought the 535's and paid an extra £100 for them because their reviews are superb. But you have to weigh up how much you'd use them and what you use them for. I use mine all time.

    How is the box relevant to the performance of the IEM?

    • @CraigMedlinmusic

      It's clearly going through specifications and features of the product on the box, which are relevant to the performance of the IEM

    I'm struggling to decide a new quality IEM. Currently it's between the RHA T20 and the Shure 435v - does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not opposed to having a slightly elevated bass, but still want clarity in the mids and treble. I also want comfort and some good passive noise isolation. Any recommendations between these two sets would be nice too :)

    Just a couple of questions mate are these earphones very loud and are they better than the Bose qc20s ?

    • @bobdecker166
      @bobdecker166 Před 8 lety

      Yes to both questions. I have the Bose qc20i and the Shure se425, and the Shures will get louder than anyone's ears could ever stand on just about any equipment. I use mine with an HTC 10 smartphone and I almost never need to go more than 50 percent volume no matter what I am listening to. The Bose have a pleasing sound, but the highs are rolled off. You get more treble and tighter base on the Shures.

      they're in ear monitoring headphones. not made to listen to fully mixed music on fucking spotify. you use these for mixing and any audio engineering. you fucked up.

    • @richardlynx8539
      @richardlynx8539 Před 8 lety

      download some fancy equalizer app and play with it! Remember that soundcard (in this case in your phone) matters alot. I'm also not sure what bitrait/quality spotify stream their music in.... these are all things to consider. fact is, you will probably never hear the full potential unless you run it with a decent/great sound card. I'll always recommend not going over 100 £ if you're only going to use it for your phone; doesn't matter what brand...

    bass is very good? how much out of 10?

    • @CraigMedlinmusic
      @CraigMedlinmusic  Před 9 lety +1

      To be honest it depends why you're buying the product and what music you listen to. If you're a regular consumer who likes heavy Electronic music and R&B and a lot of booming bass, these may underwhelm you. But if you prefer other genres like jazz, rock and blues, you'll find that the bass actually sits very nicely in the mix. The reason for the slightly underwhelming bass in some genres is probably because when used for in ear monitors on stage, the performer can already feel the punch of the bass and kick drum hitting them in the chest, so they don't need so much of it coming through their earphones.

    • @CraigMedlinmusic
      @CraigMedlinmusic  Před 9 lety

      +kejah I think there would be a noticeable difference. I think the triple drivers would be the main thing. I think you'd get a deeper, richer bottom end with them. After owning these and realising how good they are, if I could I'd go back and pay the extra to get the 535's, because they must be unbelievable.

    Had the SE215 and they were great, lost them on Subway ride. Bought the 425 and not impressed. Does nothing outstanding. Good and Solid but they cost $200 plus.
    My Grado SR60 blows them away. Most I ever spent on IEM and they are very disappointing. I have many headsets, HD600, HD650 and many others. Also stock cable is short. About a foot too short. Disappointing in so many ways. I even have a Darkvoice tube amp and tried with them. No difference. They are good average and that's it. Not one item on sound is great.
