Italian Counting Numbers

- A very basic thing in any language is learning how to count. You will use the numbers from one through ten constantly! When you tell time, when you interact with people at the market, or around town, you name it. So these first few must be memorized! But from there, it becomes quite simple to build out any other number imaginable, so let's hit all the basic number-related vocabulary right now!

as someone who speaks french and is learning italian im learning that counting is so much easier in italian
As someone who speaks italian and learning french I'm learning that counting is so much harder in french ahahah to say 91 you should do 4x20+11 it is crazy, children have to learn math before numbers ahaha
Haha, I thought Germans went overboard with numbers! To be honest, this is how I do arithmetic. I try to split things into easier chunks, for instance 7x9 is 7x10 - 7x1 or 30+30+9-6, but of course I don't speak it. It would be ridicules 😂
i can't believe i'm willingly learning this and everything went into my head smoothly. Thank you, professor Dave!
Ciao sono un italiano, volevo dirti Continua così!
Uhhhggggggvvbvvvvbhvvvvvvbnp
The numbers are relatively easy because i already know spanish
even if the numbers are relatively similar, Italian is not the same as Spanish it may seem from some words, however the rules and pronunciation are light years away from Italian so it descends from Latin most Italian words in Spanish do not exist or I'm not even a bit like that
@@alyssa.bontempi.-.8613 i know that i just said the numbers individually are similar
Same but i make it portuguese

grazie! i started learning today :)
How is it going ? i started like 3 months ago
@@Kat-py5fj how well are you doing now? Can you read most of the things you see and understand them?
@@heatherperleberg7816 well, it's going well! I can’t read words yet, because I'm still working on pronunciation and memorizing some words. I'm also doing Duolingo I'm sure you've heard of it it's an amazing app/site for learning languages, and it has helped me a ton :) I hope that answered your question. And also it's like baby steps, I can't have a conversation with someone in Italian because I'm not ready yet I'm pretty sure I would mess up on some words but you know... Lol
@@Kat-py5fj yeah, im using duolingo as well! Its good for learning words, but teaching how to conjugate and such is not its strongsuit. Im glad its going well

I found the numbers pretty similar to the numbers in Portuguese and some of them are even written and read the same way.

@@cherkielhaouari7610 what? Sorry buddy. Can you write in English?
I need your help, I read that is In Italian the 2nd to last syllable is by default most usually prolonged or stress like Italiano (it-ta-li-A-no) or legère(lay-GEH-ray) or Nicolo. It recently learnt that the placement of accent marks(diacritical) marks can affect the rhythm (stress/accent) of the word, like Itáliano(i-tA-li-a-no) or lègere (lÈH-gay-ray) or Nícolo (NÍ-co-lo). The word I am trying to understand is a name , if Perugini= (pe-ru-GI-ni), would this be correct= Pèrugini( PEH-ru-gi-ni)

Absolutely enjoying your series, you do a great job! and it gives me many ideas on how to present certain things in my own class. As a note for any one watching this, please keep in mind that in Italy the "period" is used for the THOUSAND marker and the "comma" for the decimal :)
is it also a period for the million marker and so on?
@@gemiinnii yes that's right :) i should have explained better that i meant thousands and its multiples :)

Why are the numbers written together?
رائع جدااا
The numbers from 1 to 10 are very similar of french numbers
They are, some of the number from 11 to 20 are similar too.
Spanish too😅
This is waaaaaaay easier than French numbers IMHO... So consistant !
Italian, French and Spanish are Romance languages...
Alia Saleh Very similar to the romanian numbers too

Thank you for free italian tutorial!
Hello
Yeah I know italian and one thing in italian mosto world are pronounced like you write them!
Professor Dave do you speak Spanish too? Es un poco más facil como una lengua
Pero todas las lenguas son difíciles para aprender - depende de dónde viva también. Por ejemplo si vives en España es más fácil aprender italiano que si vivieras en China.
