M2 EVO inverted, M4 Max upright: Now I listen to my intuition!!

- I have put myself under pressure to improve my skills in inverted heli flight as fast as possible for some weeks. The results were a lot of crashes and one lost OMPHOBBY M1 EVO heli. Now I decided: I will l listen much more to my intuition and learn more andvanced flying in my very own personal pace. With my OMPHOBBY M2 EVO I have so many flights under my belt that it feels like a part of me and I do more "risky" new stuff first with this small but unbeleavable capable heli. And once I feel similar familiar with my OMPHOBBY M4 Max and M4 I will try to repeat these new maneuvers with my bigger birds! Since I made this decision I have so much more fun! And I did not have a single crash! Anyway this 4th season of flying will be my most exiting!!

Der m4 ist ein wirklich sehr cooler Helikopter, mit einem mega flugbild. Ich schaue ihnen immer wider gerne beim fliegen zu, und finde sie so inspirierend, weil sie sich so für das RC Hobby begeistern. Sie werden wirklich immer besser, und es macht Freude ihnen zu zusehen 😊

@tomkoller Vielen herzlichen Dank! Ja, ich liebe meine M4's und hoffe mit ihnen im Laufe der naechsten Wochen so vertraut wie mit dem M2 zu werden. Ich liebe das Fliegen wirklich sehr und fuele mich immer so gluecklich und erfuellt wie ein kleiner Junge auf dem Spielplatz. Und Fortschritte zu sehen und vor allem zu spueren ist ein unbeschreibich gutes Gefuell!!

@mikeisiah Thank you Mike for your encouraging words!! I really feel that with time I feel more and more compfortable with mt big helis! Not every da is a good day. Sometime the feel is worst - or the wind. But we are humans and no robots! That's when i listen to my intuition!!
Building my M4 now while practicing on the M2. Inverted is definitely going to take some more time then right side up orientation. Your videos are inspiring

There is a lot if timing involved: Cyclic, Collevtive pitch, orientations reversed.... I had to take o couple of hard crashes on this way! I wish you a great M4 build and many happy flights!!

@rolex0071 Thank you very much Eamon! Yes, I love this color scheme and the white skids on my M4 Max are so good for the visibility in frot of a dark backgrounds like trees. It;s a fantastic machine and I can't wait to feel her better and better!! Blessings from Poland, my friend!
I also don't feel comfortable flying in the wind, but it is definitely a good skill to learn. Bigger helis have much less issue with the wind, but of course a small inexpensive heli like the M2 is really great for practice. Just for the video you should try to zoom in as much as you can as the heli becomes very difficult to see when watching the video on a computer screen. But you are doing great!
@toadiscoil Thanks for your encouraging comment! My dear wife is taking these videos and she tried to zoom in but then she lost the heli so fast frome the frame... not an easy task! I hope to get better with my M4 and M4 Max... they will be much better visible. Even without any zoom!

@arturosierra Thank You! I try every time to stay a little longer. When I made this video it was very windy. Gusty, very unstable wind from different directions and that makes it at my stadium of skills difficult. I will try step by step to keep the heli in a hover. But in real wind it's so much more difficult than in the simulator. Thanks for the tip and all the best!!

Hello my friend! Great to see you out getting in some more stick time. I have a Wind Meter brand new, buried somewhere in my RC Room. I really need to find it, and get some readings of the wind here lately. It has been very windy lately, but that's normal in the afternoons especially. The wind here is VERY gusty due to all of the Mountains that surround the city. The last time out with my M2's, I crashed both because I lost orientation. Due to their size, and only being able to get out later in the day I'm fighting wind and the angle of the sun. It was just a BAD day. The time prior to that, I took 2 Heli's out with me, I crashed on the first flight and I just got that BAD feeling that it wasn't going to be a good day for flying. I was planning on getting some flights in on my NEW Heli I wanted to show you, but I decided not to risk it due to that bad start. So I packed my stuff real quick and left. I'm so GLAD you are improving each day!
AnythingEverythingRC Thank you for your kind words regarding my progress! I am sorry to hear about your crashes! I know this feeling too well from my many crashes in February! I think it was good that you listened to your inner voice and on this bad day. Thats also what I mean with listening to the intuition. As much as I like flying in winds... in the last few weeks we have just too much and to gusty, changing winds. That the wind is horrible cold does not make it better!! It is very easy to crash. One little moment lack of concentration factors like the sun and wind and the heli is down. I had so many repairs lately and to be honest: 3 !!!! helis are still waiting for their repair... i just had enough... I do not really love this work on helis. I would love to olny fly.... but thats a dream. And I have learned a lot during the repair jobs... thats a big positive aspect!! Best wishes for better weather for you and all of us!!
Matthias it's good to hear I'm not the only one who has Heli's that sit due to needing repairs, LOL. Currently, I have 5 that need repairs, with only 2 that are are in Ready To Fly condition. I too get tired of the repairs, and that's why those others are sitting in their boxes waiting until I get around to them. Right now I don't have ANY M1's that are flyable, LOL. The last M1, I cracked the nylon frame in a crash. I started to do the repair, I just haven't finished it. Everything's been moved over to the new frame except the Tail Boom. I'll take care of that this weekend sometime. I miss flying the M1's
@@AnythingEverythingRC-rc1yc Oh my goodness!! 5 helis to repair... I really feel with you!! My eyes are getting tired fast when I work on my little helis... Every screw is soo small and some parts and places are difficult to reach with my fingers. I lack a lot of patience. And I am still looking for a good lamp or source of light that makes seeing these microscopic parts a bit easier!! I wish you that you finish the M1 soon and STAY in the ait with it!! I really feel with you, my friend!!
@@RCCopterLove-helis4ever Well? I got 1 M1 and 1 M2 repaired, so currently I have 3 Heli's that are flight ready. Now if this wind would die down. Like you, I don't mind flying in the wind, as I think it's VERY good practice! But right now the wind is blowing around 70 KPH. I have work to do, but I was hoping to get some flights in to record. Not going to be happening today. Hopefully I'll get some flights in this week, and have some videos to put up. I hope all is well with you and yours my friend. See you soon!
@@AnythingEverythingRC-rc1yc Great that yiu have repaired your M1 and M2! 70 KPH thats a lot. It's a pitty that now it either to windy or if there is no wind its raining - at least in Poland. Very ustable and unpredictable weather at the moment. So you are not alone. I will start the Simulator again!! Best wishes for und all for better weather conditions soon!! Besides this all is fine!
Congratulations to your progress in the last weeks, good work. I made today my 120th flight with my M2 EVO and I'm very happy too - but I'm still far away from inverted flying - exept on the simulator.
Question: How do you feel the differences in flying between the M4 and the M4 MAX?

@jupi-aladin Thank you for your kind words. Since I put less expectations on me and come back to really flying just for fun al seems to work so much better. It's a fine line: To move forward and not stand still but to feel when there is the right moment. I would advise you to listen to your gut! Regarding the M4/M4 Max comparison: I broke the swashplate on my M4 (ripping off one ball screw in a stupid way, my bad) and just received the new swashplate. I am planning a comparison video as soon I have the M4 again in the sky! But for sure the M4 Max motor has more power reserves in low RPM. I will come back with this topic!!

Sell the M2 and just fly the M4. Bigger is better. More stable, handles wind better and you can go higher to try new moves and actually have more time to react to save it if you lose orientation. Forget the small helis if you want to get better. Take my advice or not, its your choice.
@iwontreplybacklol7481 Thanks for your comment! I am flying my M4 and M4 max now much more often than the M2 EVO and I am getting more an more feel for them and feel more comfortable. But I try all new maneuvers with my M2 first and treat it a bit like a real time simulator. When I crash it's no big deal. Second reason: I love to fly my M2's almost everywehre because I need much less space to do acrobatics with the small one. I am still new to helis, so it's just a matter of time that I will feel with the big ones as comfortable as with the small ones.
