Thank you for the tip on grinding the die. I need to do some 1/0 wire with oversize lugs and was worried it wouldn't work. This showed me its possible

Solid review. For what it's worth, around here we just say "gauge", like "four gauge" or "two-aught gauge". Nobody's going to talk trash about pronunciation, though, when you're the only guy with working winch cables...

Thanks for making this video. I would like to add the die you used doesn't fit that lug, a proper crimp with this tool doesn't have wings, it should finish as a perfect hexagon.

Its impossible without clocking 90 and u doing the original crimp. A more expensive crimper makes a perfect hex. I have both

Mike another good crimper I found is one for the hammer.. Put lug and wire in it and give it a good hit and done.

i like this also cause i can do it right there while putting the wires on the make sure the end is in the perfect spot so wire do buck up it lays flat out of the way so much better looks more professional that way

In order to see if crimp is really good you should have cut through the center of crimp. On a good crimp you will not see the wire strands, but it will look like a solid piece of copper.

I got one today, it won't open up enough to do 0 awg even tho the die says its for 0

Negative ghost rider. Zero gauge is bigger than 2 gauge.
