My Traffic Lights - Leading Through Interval

  • A custom setup that gives priority to pedestrians crossing the street. A green straight arrow comes on to restrict vehicles from turning at the start of the walk sign, followed by the green ball. The right turn signal and transit signals operate after the main street phase terminates.

    You mean that pedestrian push button actually works I thought that they were just for show on the traffic signal poles

      mkscorpion79 Some intersections that use this button are simply just for the actuation of the audible sounds for the visually impaired, while the crosswalks will change automatically. Other intersections will use these for button actuated crosswalks and will only activate the sounds if the button is held!

      Haha it's my hobby so I have a special spot in the basement for them! I got some locally and some others online! I have collected a lot more since this video was taken!

      That’s my 1986 GE Gentrol! It was very common in Quebec and Eastern Canada for a long time! Newer versions exist in Quebec, New Brunswick & PEI.

      Yeah it's a colour blind signal that was very common in Quebec and the Atlantic provinces of Canada for a long time. You'll still find newer versions of them in PEI, New Brunswick and Quebec but they are getting phased out now. You'll see the newest versions with just round indications.

      It's a fire alarm pull station that triggered the lights to go into flash mode!

      Just a diamond yellow lens! They were common in Quebec and PEI but it's starting to disappear more and more!

      piktureit It's just the glass lens. It appears more green in person. I've also changed the lightbulbs in that fixture recently to a softer colour temperature.

      Jim Gahn It's the "locator tone". It beeps to visually impaired people can find the buttons so they can safely cross the street.

      It’s made by General Electric and was called the Gentrol. It was very common in Quebec but you could find them in the Maritime provinces as well! We only have a few left unfortunately.
