    Thank you for this, an extremely simple fix to many problems. This video is great! Was able to take it apart completely and wash/wipe everything down.
    Be sure to put the screws in a bag so you don’t lose them, you could also label the bag if you forget which ones go where but its very easy to determine.

    My original problem was power head not working or getting any power. Luckily plugged power head into another Dyson and worked fine, used other Dyson power head in broken Dyson and wouldn't work so problem with head unit.
    No the reason for glue covering the V11 motherboard board was due to condensation occurring and corrosion occurring on the mother board. This happened to my V11 which I discovered when I took it apart as powerhead wouldn't work. Worked out it was something wrong in the head unit and when I took apart and took off white cover on the motherboard, it's was corroded and shorting out some of the circuits.
    Condensation must have been occurring when being heated up and air flow over motherboard causing the moisture and condensation. That's why I think they put the coating on the motherboard to protect it.
    Anyway I used some Isopropanol to damp corrosion and then lightly brushed and cleaned with a toothbrush... fingers crossed. Then a final clean with some more Isopropanol.
    Put back together and everything worked fine.

    Just bought mine and not even a month into it, go to empty dust bin and red ring and silver ring fell out into trash.
    Having a hell of a time getting it back in. Guess I’m going to have to buy a screwdriver to take the part off that these go onto to.

    Ok. So the original problem was that the motorized accessories such as the high torque head cleaner was not getting any power. I realized that the connector was a little deep, so the pins were not aligning properly with the accessory. I disassembled the vacuum until the chopsticks stuff (genius). In fact, they were too deep so I push them out. Then I connected the hight torque head and it worked like a charm. Then I tried to put back the connector but when I connected the head, no power. I tried 2 more times without putting it back and it worked; however, out of the sudden, no more power. I used a voltage tester and it seems there no power coming from the black (positive) and white (negative) cables. Weird that the black is the positive, but is the one closed to the door of the connector and it has a + sign. Any ideas what else can I try?

    • @OpenMeUpTec
      @OpenMeUpTec  Před rokem

      re do the wires. there might be damage on them so they cant connect. if you tested the wire when they were removed and they work then there has to be an issue when you assemble it. probaly pulling on it to hard causing it to disconnect

    Hello, great job, could you show the disassembly of the hepa filter, the upper part seems to be assembled with the lower by two strong notches... Is there an easy way ? I'd like to open it up to dry it easier... Bye

    • @OpenMeUpTec
      @OpenMeUpTec  Před 3 lety +2

      i will look into it in the future. the fitler is the cheapest item dyson sells at $25 for a brand new one. i recommend you to purhcase a new one instead of trying to clean your old filter. since this may damage the filter and render it useless or not effective as normal.

    Hi there! Great tutorial video! My V10 has a broken trigger, I followed your instruction and all went well until the very last step. The trigger assembly refuses to come out of the handle! I’ve pulled quite strongly and not budging. The screw that holds the assembly in the handle doesn’t seem to do anything, just turns, I’m reasonably sure this may be the problem. Any advice please?

    At the 18 minute mark, mine does not come apart. At the backside (away from the guitar picks) it looks like it's coming apart. However, where the guitar picks are jammed in it does not budge at all. Do the guitar picks need to hit a lever or something on the inside? I have them way in there. Thanks.
