- This is a complete disassembly of a V15 Detect . This video is extremely long and you will need to watch the other 2 videos on my channel to help you understand how to remove the connector
I was happy when I bought a body housing for my V15, now I have another problem!
thanks for your great video, specially when there's no single video of disassemble this vacuum.
subscribed + liked your video
Thanks for the helpful video. One can separate the housing piece that contains the particle flow sensor from the gold piece that has the cyclones without creating a 4-sided prying tool to remove the power connector (29:38) - you simply have to remove the sensor board (which, as you've shown, requires pulling the two tiny connectors to the very thin electronics wires) then, pull the white + black power cord with the fat white rubberized wad through the housing and get it past the little thin electronics wires. Once it's past them you can get it to feed past the final bottom hole at the base and the big housing piece holding the particle sensor comes free of the gold cyclonic piece. The black & white power cord with the fat white rubberized wad simply stays connected to the clear plastic connector that would require a 4-sided prying tool to remove.
I had to separate these two pieces in order to clean mold and mildew from every inner part of the unit, so I had to figure out this method.
thanks i will have a look next time i open it up
Hey thanks for making this video. It's very helpful and appreciated by many.
Wow that is way more complicated than I would have expected. Removing that power connector is definitely sketchy I pretty much destroyed mine. Thanks so much for the teardown!
there are 2 ways you can remove the connector. i have videos show you the 2 ways. probably try the safe method next time
@@apet11 it is ok just put it back in place and it should be fine
I just destroyed mine too. I am very frustrated.
Thank you for the detailed video. It was a great help to change sealings on our Dyson.😊😊
thanks for your support
thank you sooooo much!! you saved my dyson. new subscriber.
thanks for your support
Thank goodness for your video! Save my vacuum!
thanks for your support
job done, electric white and black cables from black connectors gone very easy when I hit from hand in mixer ending - I was take it to remove black connector
Great disassembly vid. 👍
Was thinking about getting the v15 after all the trigger issues with the v11 Thanks
you have to remove the glue to take out the trigger. they started to glue it so people wouldnt do stuff to it. the battery is different
5:27 What can you use as prime tools if you don’t have guitar picks? Thank you advance.
I need to know how to take the motor out of de tangle brush bar as its very dirty and needs cleaning all round
Thanks a lot, great video!
thanks for your support
Hi, my cat knocked over the vacuum the other day and cracked teh cyclone (orange part) and made some holes. Dyson wants me to replace the whole body. Is there a way to just get the cyclone part? can i use a V11 cycloner (from the video it doesn't look like it b/c of the connector).
it seems simple to disassemble, instead I tried to disassemble the v12 detect slim without trigger and everything is different, I would like to see you while you disassemble and reassemble it, best regards and good continuation
have not purchase one yet to disassemble. still in the process
Nice that you showed complete disassembly ect however if I need to do this I’lo bring it into the dyson service center. The old, adage if it aint broken leave it lol.
After aligning red gasket and retaining ring, the ring snaps into place but is not very tight. Pushing the tube back over the body pops the red gasket and retaining ring out of its holder. This happened before i disassembled it, which is why i turned to your (excellent) video in the first place. Is there a way to hold the retaining ring tighter?
can you watch the video and tell me at what time you see the ring and where in the video you have issues with. it makes it easier for me to undderstand can give you an answer
What an amazing video. Thank you
thanks for your support
Nice breakdown of this system. I have to wonder why they make that connector (that made you break all your chopsticks) such a sticking point, like 'we don't want you doing this' connector. The rest of it is quite simple.
when you call dyson for a replacment part, they replace the whole thing. therefore, you are not meet to take it apart
@@OpenMeUpTec including the screen etc?
@@richardcook1987 cant they glue the part where you take out the motor. you need to do that before you get to the screen
Thank you !!
Anybody know where I can buy another power connector?
hey, do you know where it could be possible to get one of those purple gaskets for the cyclone portion? or is that something you have to go to dyson to fix?
you wont be able to buy it. dyson doesnt sell it since you are not meant to disassemble your vacuum to that point
28:05 What is the name of the blue gasket? where can I find it?
Would you please confirm that the V11 dust bin fits the V15? I asked this very question of Dyson and I was told it did not.
yes it does. i show you in the video it fits. you can see this at 1.25 in the video
do u know how to fix clean filter error?I just tried it out on a small portion of our carpet (less than 5 minutes) and it’s already asking me to clean the filter.
is your filter dirty. if it is then you need to clean it. normally carpet are extremely dirty, making the filter full in a short amount of time
This is a very good teardown video, especially that so many other videos, together with the manufacturer themselves is suggesting just rinsing the transparent container and back filter with water is enough. It isn't, after 1 year I took almost a full pound of dirt from every single space found inside the case. Honestly, it makes me sad to think the most expensive vacuum on the market is actually so poorly designed when comes to internal integrity of those parts and the shady design decisions like this connector that they clearly changed vs the V12/12 models just to fuck with me trying to clean my own device.
The only thing I would add to the video is that this last place that you could not get into because of the lack of prying tool can be cleaned to a satisfying degree with pressurised air - I used a hairdryer, but a can of laptop cleaning air should do the trick just as well.
Plus it is a cleaner video when you disassemble a clean one, but using an actual used, dirty one would help illustrate the actual issue at hand to people who have not yet tried to look inside theirs
in one of my video for a v11, i left it dirty and it was just to hard to disassemble and show people stuff ,which is the purpose of the video. therefore i try to give it a quick clean before or it get out of control
At 28:00 you begin talking about the foam gasket/seal. Do you know where replacement foam gasket/seal can be purchased?
Saw another comment you replied to saying that Dyson don't sell that part. Thanks!
nope they dont provide that to buy seperately
Can I message you to ask a question regarding my V15? The gasket foam on mine has protruded in two areas and I’m concerned.
you can ask the question here. can ou please watch the video and tell me at what time i can see this gasket. helps me understand the issue
I've been using v15 for a month, today I noticed that one of the circles of the purple foam seen at 28:00 is ripped in the middle. Is it covered under warranty? I don't know if suction is affected.
call up there is no harm. they will give it to you for free.
Use electrical tape
@@hawaiianboi88 Dyson Turkey replaced my motor unit the same day.
la guarnizione che si trova al minuto 30 dove si può trovare ?
I have a sv15 i have no power gettting to the power head. Checked all connections that are easy access and they all are clean. What could be the cause.
if the vacuum is working you have an issue with the power cable/connect somewhere. you can see this cable in 17:30 in the video
I accidentally ripped the black inside foam. Any tips on how to fix it? Can I buy a replacement part? Please help!
which one. please watch the video and tell me at what time i can see it
Thank you!!
How much do you need to disassemble if you want to clean baby powder from the vacuum? All the way to the motor? How much of the innards are affected by the dust/powder in this case?
you should try to do up to 37.00
For some reason my battery wont clip back in ive looked everywhere and no tabs or anything broken any suggestions?
did you remove the tigger, if you did you didnt put it in all the way
@@OpenMeUpTec i havent removed or opened anything. All i did was remove the battery to charge it now wont click back into place for some reason
@@stevee4746 you might not be aligning it correctly or something is stuck inside
@@OpenMeUpTec i thought same thing but cant see anything jammed and seems to be aligned but thanks for your help
Hi! My V 15 has an issue of showing the last vacumed particles numbers and doesnt start until i reinsert the battery. What could be the case, it doesn't want to work?
looks like a software problem and by reinserting the battery you just restarted. as it loses power when you take the battery out and starts again when you insert it
My plastic & red ring is align but it was quite lose. After putting the bin back, it will pop up on its own. Any suggestion to help?
can you please watch the video and tell me what time i can see the red ring and where you are having issues
@@OpenMeUpTec 8.15
I follow your steps and all ok but after putting the bin back, the red ring and plastic will pop out on its own.
I have same issue. Hard to get it to stay
Lol everyone must be having this same issue because so am I. The red ring seems loose and pops back out when I put my vacuum back together.
@@dedemicrew this means it is not align correctly try again.
Issue is glue gets hot and turns black at hot places make a carbon connection short.
The trigger sometimes broke on v10 and v11. Could you say how it should be replaced at v15? Thank you.
watch 39.20 in the video. it is the same as the v10 and v11. the issue is on some of the v11 and all of the v15. they glue the area that you need to access do replace the tigger. i already have a video with the v10 and v11 which shows you how to remove the tigger
So later if there was a problem with the trigger on v15, it won't be replaceable, because they glue the area? Would you know if they've improved the trigger? Thank you.
@@tiborilles doubt it. the glue is there so people will call up dyson for help. you can remove the glue but it will take effort
@@OpenMeUpTec You know how the trigger on the V11 breaks and causes the machine to no longer turn on, would you say this same problem would happen to the outsize+ I'm waiting to be delivered?
@@sandiegoavgeek6 it happens to all of them
What is the use of the rubber ring?
which one? can you please watch the video and tell me at what time i can see the rubber ring
@@OpenMeUpTec 17:16 i am wondering why the dyson outsize motor doesn’t have the rubber ring compared to the one you have
@@ahmedalsubaie544 i have a video on the dyson outsize so you can watch that if you need to instead of watching the wrong video. that ring is to stop the stuff from coming up when you empty the bin.
Have you done the laser model yet?
the laser cleaning head?
@@OpenMeUpTec yes. I want to know how the laser line/path works. No one has explored it yet! I’m guessing it uses a series of mirrors and diffusion to spread the beam and direct.
@@dodgee_doo it is not a laser it is really just an green LED that all. i actually took it apart to make a video buy it was so basic that it didnt need one
@@OpenMeUpTec oooooh! That’s wild! Thank you for the replies!
Thanks for the video. But i dont think this is a “complete” disassemble, you didn’t teardown remaining parts.
I recommend when assembling the gaskets back on...use a dab of silicone to aid the mating surfaces
originally they dont have any. therefore i wont recommend it. when you use the vacuum the suction will cause it to close up therefore it is not necessary
@@OpenMeUpTec what I meant was maybe some silicone grease to help reassemble the gaskets because you said they were difficult in getting back on
@@bio10155 i see i would not recommend that as it will cuase dust to stick to it. if you want to use something make sure it is not wet or else dust starts to build up on it
