This movie was filmed literally right before 9/11 occured. The original teaser trailer showed a group of bank robbers escaping via helicopter, but they end up getting caught in a huge web suspended between the Twin Towers. The trailer was scrapped after the 9/11 attacks. The scenes with Spiderman clinging to the American flag at the end and the crowd on the bridge throwing stuff at the Green Goblin are all supposed to be a sign of patriotism and unity for Americans who were heartbroken and shook after 9/11.

Spiderman 2 also had 1 of the best action sequences in Marvel movie history. The fights between Raimiverse Spiderman and Doc Ock are 1 of the most memorable and the Spiderman stopping the train is literally 1 of the most remembered feats in Marvel movie history as well. Ik that the Avengers movies definitely had more action, but they weren't as creativity executed like they were in Spiderman man 2 or let alone the Raimi trilogy.

Tom’s villains are not bad at all though, Vulture is excellent, just a normal guy running a clean up crew to provide for his family and then that chance gets thrown away so he starts collecting chitauri technology and scraps like an actual vulture does, that’s very clever, and he did Peter a favor at the end of the movie by not revealing his identity. Mysterio on the other hand was okay, just wanted to be a hero and didn’t care what he had to do to get it. Vulture was better though

The green goblin has gotta be the most terrifying villain in the entirety of Spiderman, his laugh, his personality, his demeanour are all highly unsettling especially when you see the goblin personality staring Norman in the face, literally when Norman was talking to his Goblin personality in the mirror of his house you can see Norman is terrified to see that the Goblin personality is talking to him which is a telltale sign that he truly isn't himself when he takes on the goblin persona

The reason they made his web shooters natural was because director Sam Raimi believed that a high schooler didn't have the money to buy the tech for the web shooters and web fluid. So he made them natural to help bring the audience and the character more together i.e. more relatable.

Peter Parker's parents were Richard and Mary Parker. After saying goodbye to 4-year-old Peter as they dropped him off at Uncle Ben and Aunt May's house, Richard and Mary are both killed in a plane crash.
Willem Dafoe doesn't always play the bad guy. In "Platoon" Willem Dafoe played the good guy; and in the "Last Temptation of Christ" Willem Dafoe played Jesus.
And I totally disagree about the web-spinning. I think natural webs produced by Peter's body is a much cooler method than web-shooters on his wrists - which would require Peter to figure out how to synthetically make the webs and construct the shooter. Natural webs produced by his body helps the suspension of disbelief.

As someone who read the Classic X-Men & Spiderman comics back in the `60`s, this film & the X-Men film meant we finally got to see our favourite Super Heroes on the big screen. We had had the tv attempt at Spiderman in the `70`s & the more successful Wonder Woman, but longed for film versions.
Starting with Superman in 1978 we began to see it happen. But obviously we desperately wanted to see all the different ones portrayed. All these years later the major characters have been covered. Although, they`ve tended to repeatedly show their origin stories, rather than let us see more of the comics stories covered.
For me this was the Spiderman I read, the X-Men however was not. Though I have enjoyed the films, in the Classic X-Men I read, there was Professor X & 5 X-Men. Just like the other Heroes, I wanted to see the real origin story of this group. Though of course, that was prior to Wolverine`s appearance. Sadly they comprised their origin story, obviously, as they decided he would be more of a draw at the Box Office.

For years I craved for a decent Spider-Man movie and this was it. I grew up in the 80's, so the standard for superhero movies was Superman the movie 78 with Christopher Reeves, which is also a great superhero saga.

Honestly I'm still not ready to move on with Tobey spider man. I just want one more Peter Parker story from Sam Rami and after that I want the much deserved Andrew to get the spot light he deserves.

when Peter saved MJ from falling in that first scene he did it right bc Andrews Peter tried to web Gwen and hold on this Peter is smart enough to know that wouldnt work (not saying andrew is dumb) so he dived in and had himself face down so that if the web didnt reach up fast enough MJ wouldnt have gotten as hurt and they would have landed on his back and he wouldnt feel as much pain and Andrew doing the same in NWH proving that ever since Gwen died he has been planning so hard to figure out how he could have saved her

Tobey Maguire spent six months taking martial arts, weight training, and an intensive gymnastics programme in order to bulk up, look buff, and be able to match the lithe athleticism of Spider Man. That scene in the cafeteria where he catches all the food on the tray was done practically, took over 150 takes and some adhesive but they did it.

Mark 5:20, or soon after. Hehe! Your "little prick" remark! There's a comedy movie about twins being switched, and there's a scene with a wealthy pregnant blonde being taken to the baby delivery room. Someone about to inject her, warns her that she's about to, "feel a little prick", and her response was, "That's how I got this way!" (I think it stars, Bette Midler & Lily Tomlin. đŸ€” )
George Carlin, in is act about the ten words not allowed on television. One line was, "You can say that you pricked your finger, but you can't say that you fingered your prick!". đŸ˜…đŸ˜‚đŸ€Ł
