I already have tons of orchestral libraries, so Iconica won't be in use in my case, but HOLY MOLLY, having such agood sounding library out of the box is just incredible. For any beginner wanting to get into scoring, Cubase will be just a no brainer option. Back when I was starting out in scoring, this would be the main selling point. Amazing, kudos to Steinberg - it's a great move.
It's why I finally switched from Reaper which I LOVED. Cubase, has much more professional options for breaking into creating media.
Nice addition. One of the best things Dom does, is beautifully playing live instead of painting notes in the editor. That better communicates the value of the instrument, and the joy it can give you playing it.
It's really impressive to have all these instruments and most commonly used articulations at your fingertips. Thanks, Dom for this excellent tour.
this is honestly very impressive. I was playing around with the sounds you get from this and honestly if you didn't have musical training or even just classical training you probably wouldn't be able to tell that it is just midi. I love the sounds you can get from this

😱 This is amazing, I pay £29 a month for East West and it was really for the strings when I’ve upgraded and used this on a couple of tracks I might be saving some money. It is a sweet deal as it’s everything with composer cloud that I took on a special offer but this looks like it would do what I need and it’s included. Thanks again Dom your videos are always brilliant only thing better is how you play that keyboard.

Iconica was made by Orchestral Tools Berlin, go on their website and check their prices.
I am tempted to upgrade my cubase 9-pro to cubase13. Hopefully there will be discount offer sale 😊. i use cubase only for hobby so looking for discount offer 😀
Very nice and you can use the multi feature of halion to load the entire orchestra in one plugin, cannot do that with BBC Symphony which is real drawback.

Very useful library. A small problem is a bit too much ambience recorded with the instruments, and all in stereo. So if I want to position a sound in the stereo field it's all over the place, lacks precision in the placement. If rendered to audio and then made into mono it sounds awful. Even using the double panner to make it narrower sounds thin compared to the original stereo sound. I think I would have preferred the solo instruments, woodwinds and brass for example to be in mono. Any ideas?
I'm guessing you can set up articulation maps for all instruments.
MPE support for this library would set it apart from almost all of its competition. Please add it!

Why is it not mentioned here that Iconica (Sketch) was created in collaboration with Orchestral Tools? An absolute sales argument! It is stated on the website for the main product, but not here for the slimmed-down version.

What's the name of the device that allows you to vary the volume of your notes on the keyboard, which you operate with your left hand? 🙂
Its called cc121 by Steinberg,, its a midi controller specially designed for cubase with fader,, transport controls etc. it coats around 500 usd currently new.
Are there double basses included?
I wish Steinberg products were nks compatible so it’s easy to use key switches.

Right... So, I payed the discounted £60 for an update to Cubase 13 and the download manager and the convoluted system with the RIDICULOUS activation manager is playing up, going as far as asking me to insert a DISK (???) that contains the license. I uninstalled Cubase 13, went back to 12 and Retrologue which I use to add an oscillator to the kick has lost its license. Essentially I get less by paying for more. The whole system is an absolute clusterf**k!!! This is my last ever update attempt to a new version of Cubase and I will switch to another DAW when I am done with this. I am furious.
Like in most of the budget libraries brass instruments are the weak point here as well.
Strings are really reusable but…horns are sounding really synthetic to my ears… 😕 I can’t believe they’re sampled from real instruments…

We don't need another... I create my "Clips" from scratch... and there are other ways to get the same result, just learn the program options and apply brain power how best to accomplish.
