    First off, Let's GO Chiefs!! I live in the KC area, and just picked up a 98. Rebuilt the master, and went through the entire front brakes....and they're still not great. So I guess this is my next move. Thanks for the video.

      CHIIIEEEFFSSS!!!! The disc brakes are definitely the way to go. Once I got them bled, and put on a good master cylinder it would just about flip ya over the bars.
      Also KC area btw, south of Metro.

      Ive replaced several of the drum brakes a long time ago for myself and friends. The drums are going to eventually get water and mud in them. once that hapens, they wont last long.

    Its been a while some time now since you installed this kit. I see there are more expensive kits on the market. Highlifter i believe. How is this kit holding up? what about the quality opf the materials? Do you think i should opt for the better name brand?

      This kit was definitely on the cheaper end. I don't have the quad anymore. From what the Facebook groups have posted, there really isn't a difference, as they're all Chinese made and use Polaris calipers. For me to dish out more money than $250 I would need to see something extremely different

    You need to you your brakes. Embed some of pad material to the rotators. Get the heated at least five times at speed. My disc brakes work great after that.

      It was the master cylinder, leaking out the seal. Replaced that and it'll just about flip ya over the handle bars lol

    Any advice on how to get my drum off my 96 300. It doesn't have those 2 screws

      Smack it with a hammer to break it free. I believe there's an adjuster on the rear you could turn down technically but smacking it typically works.

    Nice looking CJ-5 in the background! Do you need larger wheels after installing this brake kit?

    • @weekendwarriorpowersports
      @weekendwarriorpowersports  Před rokem

      Not on the CJ! This kit and all the other disc brake kits have to use the 12" wheel, will not fit the 2wd 11". So no, mine did not need new wheels.

      Thanks for the reply! My 300 is 4x4 so it should have the larger wheels. Still love the CJ-5! Looks like you have a good project going. My 79 cj5 is an ongoing project!!
