Are Christmas teapot videos becoming my thing? Well, this year, this video is all about the throwing, trimming and assembly of teapots - think of it as teapot making 101 - I discuss the entire creation process in probably too much detail, from throwing the spout, attaching it at the correct angle, piercing the holes and pulling a handle that matches the rest of the vessel, balancing the protruding spout. When you throw the main body, are you using a lamb's ear sponge or a piece of chamois in your right hand?

Thanks for demonstrating the importance of the vent hole in the lid. However, I'm curious why the spout connection uses several small holes rather than one large one. Is that to filter loose leaf teas? Seems a bit harder to clean.

Indeed! It's to filter the tea leaves. Not too difficult to mean, hot water, high pressure, swirl and empty it a few times - using a handmade pot like this is worth the trouble!
