All black people thought she was black. She sang Hurt at the Apollo and they gave her a standing ovation. She was the 1st Italian to ever sing there.
She is
This awesome song is a sequel to one of Timi's greatest hits, "Hurt." It's perfect when you know that. You, my dear, are very young and weren't there.
Child, you're just too young to know why this song and Timi Yuro are still legendary. Timi (Rosemarie Timotea Auroiemma) parents owned an Italian restaurant in Santa Monica in the 50's and 60's, CA where she sang as a young girl. She went to Fairfax high school in LA where she met the legendary RnR producer, Phil Spector. Spectors "Wall of Sound" style became famous as he produced the Ronettes ("Be My Baby") Darlene Love and other girls groups to success. He produced this record (you gotta get a better recording, child) without getting the credit he deserved when both were barely out of high school. In later years, Elvis Presely had his own table at her Las Vegas shows and he called her his "favorite singer." Give her a chance, listen to that incredible voice and you wil be rewarded.
Produced by Clyde Otis on Liberty Records
Nothing to do with Phil Spector even remotely.

Got a voice, like no other!
Young lady...
you don't know what you're talking about!
Timi is a legend!
Timi did MANY songs....incredible pieces of music...Try "Interlude" and "I Apologize"
powerful talent
Interesting... not a song I remember, but it does totally capture the essence of the general sound of that era... So that's a strange kind of nostalgia... it's actually more like the experience of being a kid and listening to the radio than if this was a song I've known and remembered from that era. Quite interesting. Hearing with the ears of a child again. The imperfection of the recording adds to that feeling.. the old am radio wasn't high fidelity... LOL. I do appreciate the broad spectrum of music we're hearing here. Something new every day.
Could u react to I'm hurt by timi yuro the original video. It's a great song.
A favorite of both Elvis and the Beatles! And it dontbget bigger than that!
And she once opened for Frank Sinatra.
New to me! It makes me feel like I'm in the 1950's or 1960's!
Love the song, love you.
1962 ? And went to #12 ? How have I never heard this before?
should have a listen to it'll never be over for me.
Amazing, love Timi’s vocals
If Timi had had a decent promoter she'd be as big a name as anyone of that era. Unfortunately that never happened.
Nice song but, I agree, not especially memorable. Having said that, I implore you to listen to her best song by far, "Hurt". I think you'll love it just like those of us from that era do.
I prefer the 1979 Ellen Foley cover - czcams.com/video/pqT3YFz0FRE/video.html , produced by Ian Hunter and Mick Ronson. Ellen, of course, was the female singer On Meat Loaf's Paradise by the Dashboard Light. The song that will highlight her voice would be We Belong to the Night.
Saturday night cruising music
Timing Yuro only did a few songs. Love her voice, lyrics, and "drive".
Not true. She recorded many songs. You just have to seek them out.
One of the songs that is what? Good call. What was that.
You wouldn't know good from a bad weave!
Check out Hurt!!!
Please do listen and react to An Affair To Remember by Nat King Cole... Thanks you, Angela..
Listen to Timi again but this time listen to "MY FOOLISH HEART". Much better singing and song. MUCH BETTER!!!
I believe I was the one who asked you to listen to Timi Yuro's powerful voice. I always thought she did So much great music and vocals, guess I was wrong, I'll leave now
Not bad, but sounds like 1000 other songs from that era.
@@wavelength7503 OK. Here's just one video with about a dozen on it that is exact same style of music IMO czcams.com/video/8oZqGNjMQc0/video.html
I disagree as she had a rather unique powerful emotional and deep voice for a female which made her sound very different from the rest.
No other vocalist had that voice on 1962 on the radio.
