Paganini gave the soloist an 11-bar break to fix their bow before starting the cadenza, and Maria used that time as the composer had intended. She starts her bow fix at 14:44 and it is ready in good time for the cadenza.
All her renditions are absolutely divine and the epitome of technical knowledge and confidence.

I wish the camera stayed focused on her @10:18. She performs this passage like no one I have ever heard, brilliantly. I doubt anyone can get better bow action than that.

Yep, she straight up jumped right in and kept the same tempo she'd been keeping the whole performance. No fear, plenty of attitude and confidence lol. Almost every performance i've seen of this specific part of the piece people play it VERY safe hahaha

El maravilloso sonido y precion en la ejecución hace que veamos en ella un relevo de las viejas glorias del violin así como poniéndose a la altura de los jóvenes violinistas internacionales como Hilary Hahn o Josuh Bell etc.

So refreshing, the National Orchestra of Russia accompanying Paganini‘s violin concerto under the direction of Vladimir Spivakov! There is so much undeterred strength and vividness in it without the kitsch one could expect from it otherwise. And yes, it strongly remembers me of the great Russian tradition since the recording of the same concerto in 1966 with Victor Tretyakov as soloist. What a beautiful reencounter and surprise! Maria Dueñas is a very great talent and I’m looking forward hearing more from her as well.
The level of detail, confidence, and brazenness, it takes to compose, dress, stand, and perform this music. I am convinced this is Heaven's overtone.
