Watch a full tutorial as a 2016 Honda Civic will have new door speakers installed. We will be installing a full component set by Alpine, or a separate midrange speaker in the lower door and tweeter in the sail panel, similar to the factory setup. We will be using the Alpine 6.5 S-S65C speaker system for enhanced audio quality.
Note this Civic was NOT equipped with the factory amplifier, which generally is indicated with the factory subwoofer located in the rear, center deck area. If you have the factory amplifier, the process of installing these speakers will be very similar, however, you must install your tweeters to the tweeter harness, not on the terminals of your midrange speaker driver.
This video applies to Honda Civic models for years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. This video also includes amplifier wiring, amp installation and testing.

This helped me out so much
I went to install my Rocksford fosgate speakers and the metra harness connectors were too small to connect to the speakers, the connectors the car harness are good.
I ordered what you ordered minus the speakers you have.
Excelente video! Justo lo que necesitaba. En mi caso yo voy a operar esta fuente de poder suministrando 110 voltios ya que resido en los EE.UU. Gracias!
Will that bracket fit a skar door speaker
Could I run this setup without upgrading the head unit and using an amp? My civic only has the 4 speakers no factory amp or sub. Thanks.
Where can I get the part that’s the plastic cover/grill of the 6.5 inch speaker? Mine is broken
How would you improve the audio without replacing? And i'm in my civic? Is an amp needed?
I have the same car and same set of speakers, brackets and harness. It seems once you’re trying to mount the speaker into the bracket, it’s just short of sitting flush.
Did it go in well doing cross pattern of screws?
hello, i just got 4 6.5" kicker speakers with built in tweeters for my 2021 honda civic lx. Am i going to need those extra brackets to put them on the door in replacement of the old ones? I know that's not exactly the car you're doing, but I'm just curious.
thanks
Yes, you will still need the bracket and harness adapters for the doors, regardless of the brand of speakers you are installing (coaxial or components).
Will that bracket fit a skar door speaker
Curious, how did it work out for you? I just got the exact same vehicle, looking to upgrade my speakers.
@@samuelL.mackinthe bracket doesn’t fit. Ended up just putting the speakers on the doors themselves.
I got the kicker 6.5 speakers, but after installing them. They don't sound loud, do I have to put an amplifier on them?
Thanks!
If running off of factory power, yes, you'd benefit from an aftermarket amp.
They probably have a lower sensitivity rating than your factory speakers so they aren’t as loud.
Yes, an external amplifier will most certainly brighten things up for you ! 👍🏼
are the stock speakers good enough to leave as is and just get an amp and sub? the ex-t model says the specs are 180-Watt Audio System with 8 Speakers, 180 watt seems good, or maybe thats the combined watt from 8 speakers?@@ProvoBeastAudio
Tweeters get full range... what?
I think the ones without the factory amp get the full range. Owners with factory amplifier are f'd because factory amp pumps out different ranges in their own channels to speakers making it hard to upgrade.
@@StateBiscuit Nah you can't send fullrange to a $5 tweeter. There's a cap or a xo somewhere.
@@Sac_slappper_4rce you're probably right. They must have something in between
lmao. You did not add any water proofing house to the speaker and you installed it upside down.
Your speaker is going to get shorted in rainy days.
Based on the cutout designed of the inner door skin, if you install the terminals down, the can short on the door metal, causing the radio to go into protect. Speaker is fine as most door panels will see some sort of moisture. Take your lamo and gtfo.
ha ha ha I dig your response. @@ProvoBeastAudio
Great vid. Thanks!
