For those of you who are old enough to remember you will agree. For those who were too young or not born yet, 1991 and 1992 was the absolute zenith for hard rock and heavy metal. The world could not get enough of this music, the concerts, MTV news, magazines, cassettes and cd's. Guns N' Roses and Metallica were God. I am not joking. Slaughter were great and when they played the Arsenio Hall show a year earlier, I was an instant fan. Thank you so much for posting this, I never saw this before.

As pop culture goes, I can see how 1991 and 1992 were the zenith of hard rock and metal. But The zenith for it's feeling amazed by, was with Iron Maiden, Quiet Riot, Twister Sister, The Grim Reaper, Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, Metallica, etc., the Early-mid 1980s.

It was coming to a end slaughter was the last real big hair band by this point nirvana was out Pantera just put out vulgar display of power chains was about release dirt 10 pearl jam was the biggest album of the year people were no longer wearing tight jeans long hair was still OK but a lot of people cut there hair by this point sound garden was being featured on head bangers ball.stoll considered metal the media was just starting to run with the term grunge then the nail in the in the wooden box nirvana went on head bangers ball Kurt was dressed in drag and said the words that destroyed the hair bands he said we don't like metal we are not metal and we don't like the crowd that listens to metal they never directly said that but close after that millions of glam metal kids took off the leather jacket and put on a plaid shirt and the very last rock revolution and culture change took place for the next 3 years the hair bands became the most hated bands on the planet still I loved those times and happy I got to be part of the last rock revolution the world would ever great years

They set us up to be filmed outside the gates and then brought us into the studio for a listening party and then filmed the closing at the end. So much fun! Great bunch of guys/musicians.

I flew with Slaughter in ‘91 from Logan Airport Boston to LAX. On American Airlines I remember Tim lead guitarist as being really friendly they all we’re actually. Mark was wearing leopard pants and walking around the plane with the planes cell phone. Then walking with them to the baggage check out and Tim picking up his guitar in a black guitar case held together with duct tape. I got to my cousins house in Thousand Oaks CA and I walked thru the door and my cousin was watching Fly To the Angels video on MTV! I told her I just flew with those guys from Boston! So I've started a random bucket list of going to concerts to see and hear incredible bands like this whenever possible (We're losing them too fast!) Slaughter toured with Kiss back in the day and I was working security in Charlotte N.C. between the Slaughter performance and Kiss. The guys came out and were just walking around. Tim Kelly had I white towel wrapped around his head. Anyway a couple of girls walked up to the band and asked Tim if they could have the towel wrapped around his head. Tim was like. Ok? Here ya go. When the girls walked away with their prize towel. Tim looked over at me and shook his head. He didn't understand why the girls what his towel. I just looked at him and said. Brother you are famous now. Better get used to it. He said I guess so. Just a humble down to earth man.

I had a huge embarrassing crush on Blas Elias (BFF loved Sebastian Bach). I even dedicated a song to him on the radio! This was such a great time. It was really sad when bands like Slaughter just fell away because of grunge which I could never stand. It seemed like everything changed in an instant. It was even sadder when Tim Kelly died in ‘98. The 90s were a long time ago but they seem like yesterday.

Such a cool band. Hard to believe Tim's family sold/got rid of most of his gear. Mark has Tim's purple Robin guitar but I would love to have one of his old axes!

Tim Kelly really put Robin Guitars out of Texas on the map. I wish that company was still around. Fantastic guitars and they definitely stand out from the others. Tim was a very underrated guitar player and he ripped those Robin's up!! Highly recommend trying one out!
