This seems to work the best but I was successful using a breaker bar and at T50 socket. You have to hammer the socket into the paint first a bit and turn the breaker bar slowly. Also when you replace your hinges the new hinges won’t fit perfectly in the same position you have to open the door and position the new hinge in the correct spot to cover all areas not painted

Ah, thank you!! Going to have to make a run to buy a torch but that’s way better than the way I was trying to cut around it.
You'll be shocked how easy it comes out. The biggest reason isn't the paint that it gets stuck, it's the lock tight on the inside.
I was able to get it & I was sooo happy & proud of myself (new jeeper & car diy’er lol)….But now my door is slightly out of alignment, I forgot not to unscrew too far & I can’t get a bolt back in. Tried jiggling the door the best I can but it doesn’t seem to be working😩 I’m trying to add foot pedals to the hinges

@@titanoffroad well now you have…Mine. Had to use a breaker bar on each one they were in so tight. That’s after applying heat directly to the bolts for a couple minutes each. Still stripped two needed to buy an easy out and that was a joke. Had to take mine to a welder to get the last (2) bolts out. Possible the previous owner rubber cemented them in or something. There was no getting these out. I had to laugh watching you use a standard ratchet and sitting down and they just came out like butter. Lol guess some people are just born lucky
@@chriskociolek1830 we manufacture, sell and install door hinge steps and hilift jack mounts that require removing the door hinge bolts, we have removed hundreds if not thousands of them. No customer of ours using this method has not been able to remove them this way. We include in our instructions how to remove the hinge bolts this way and haven't had a customer contact us who couldn't get them out using this method either. This video was taken on a customers jeep who I was showing how we remove tough hinge bolts after he could not remove them.
What did you use to apply heat? Not born lucky at all, just have never had one not come loose. Although I've had to apply heat for a little longer, 45 seconds or so and use a breaker bar but that's only been on a couple 2007-2010's that had a couple hundred thousand miles on them & that spend their lives parked outside. Still though using this method we've never not been able to remove one. They're all installed from the factory using locktight which is why the heat is needed to melt the locktight. The only way I could see one not coming out would be terrible corrosion that essentially welded them together. But still have never seen it happen. Sorry for your trouble, you've had a rare situation.

That's really tough, go the next size up, tap the bit into the hole using a hammer and attempt to remove. Otherwise you'll have to drill it out.
