I’ve heard Sammy say “I was scared shitless” in a few stories on his podcast.
The trouble is people often get the gist of what is said rather than what actually was.
Difference is there is guns and bullets and possible death involved. I have trained and sparred in boxing to, and never once was i scared. Its a big difference between the two.

Teddy is trying to get Sammy to address the fear of being defeated or embarrassed or getting slept in front of your friends & family when the environment isn’t controlled & things aren’t going your way. It’s easy to say “I was never scared” when your fighting guys you know you can beat or you know aren’t going to knock you out. It’s different when you’re getting beat, tired, bruised up, bleeding & hurt & it’s in competition.
In that situation is when you see if a fighter is really a fighter & Teddy is saying in Sammy’s case when everything came crashing down he didn’t face the music of the charges he was facing.
