That looks like sticky strong fibre tape like duck tape but i don't think its possible to get it that thin in UK the only thing we can do is buy carpet tape with adhesive back and cut thin strips to get the same result '' thank you for sharing your ingenious new ways of making these things easier GZK i give this method a try '' with gorilla tape cut thin ''
fajar setyawan No problems with slipping for me. Im using 3/4” straight cut .66 gzk bands but I am not maxing them out so I can’t speak about how well it does for stronger bands.

If a sling doesn’t have band grooves would you recommend going around the fork with the tape once before putting the band on?
Well, I think it is always practical to tie the band set on the slingshot with
waste elastic belts.
