As someone who is French-first, this is even more beautiful when listening to this and understanding it in your own native language. An absolute tear-jerker for sure! 🥲
@@Matrice0409the difference is that when you know French, you understand all the imagery of the lyrics. It tears you up even more. Where she puts the accent on the words means something more to us.
The reason you cry is because Lara sings from her soul to yours, in all her songs, so her voice touches your spirit, but not all her songs will make you cry, lots of them are just heavenly
Lara Fabian was born gifted with such a talent for singing. PLUS, she was very well trained by the best opera teachers from Belgium and Italy, but she decided to sing pop songs, she also has the knowledge to sing in operatic way, she studied from her 8 to 18 at the Belgium Conservatory of Music (there she learned Bel Canto, piano [she composes her own songs on piano), she started singing professionaly at the age of 15, in 1985, her first video clipe came when she turned 16, in 1986 and her first world wide album was released at the begin of 1990. Then since 1998 she kept having vocal lessons with her Italian teacher untill nowdays, she has two vocal teachers (From Belgium and Italy) and she keeps having vocal lessons at least 3 times per week on-line. Lara also has been working as a vocal coach on The Voice Canada, she already worked as the vocal coach at the Star Academy program in France from 2004 /2008. Please react to Lara Fabian - Llora live in Kremlin 2010 (Llora means cry in English). She speaks fluently and composes in 4 languages (English, Spanish, Italian and French), but she is able to speak and understand a little bit of Russian, Dutch and Portuguese, she already sang live in 12 languages. She has many live performances holding notes like C5 and D5 for over 12 seconds, in chest mixed voice, eben C5 for 20 seconds in chest voice. Her live vocal range is Eb3 - G#6, in Studio D3 - B6. But most of all she's a storyteller white performing, she's gives everything everytime. So emotional. Thank you.
Lara is such a genuine human being, who gives EVERYTHING to her fans. A very wise decision to continue your journey into the songs of one of the best singers/performers I've ever seen.
That song was out of this world , I just can't imagine being in the front row , watching that performance , wow . If that song didn't rip through your soul , nothing will , flawless ❤
Lara is an amazing singer, and this song is a testament to her ability to show how well she communicates the emotions. This song and its performance will always induce emotional responses from anyone listening to it, I wasn’t surprised by your reaction knowing the song and you! 🌹
Thank for now 2 great honest reactions. What a treat to watch you react. Welcome to Lara's world. You are right...there are two types of singers - 1) Lara and 2) everybody else. She does not seek nor need your approval to play with your emotions - she draws you in, casts a spell, and toys with you until you have experienced what was necessary. The 100th time you watch this, and you will watch it 100 times, you will feel the same way.
Une chanson parmi les plus belles chansons françaises. Cette chanson fait partie du répertoire de Serge LAMA. Chantée par une Diva. Découvrir les émotions que cette chanson procurent aux habitants d'autres pays est un honneur. Merci.
in the end she was so deep in song and took some time release it was end ,absolute she is STAR and year by year i love listening her singing ......thanks for reaction 🥰
“Je suis Malade”, now a french classic, was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973. This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …). When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and composed the music in a couple of hours. The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes. Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad. But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s. At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version. She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet during his own Paris concert in January 1995. It was a triumph. So he sat in a front row seat and asked her to sing it again alone. Lara also had made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power. Serge and Lara became good friends and performed several other duets later on. The 1999 version ("From Lara with Love" Concert in Montreal) czcams.com/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/video.html is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries. The most recent ones I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella. Lara is used to perform the song very differently in each of her tour and for instance the En Toute Intimité, 2003, Paris Olympia version is even more dramatic czcams.com/video/SyILdRAOS88/video.html
This woman always gets me to tear up everytime. She is just wonderful and I love her and her songs❤ Please react to the song Adagio from the same concert, which she sings as one of her best performances to my opinion.

At the start as you watch you can see she's literally being transported into the song & is living every word she sings.... At the end when the audience is cheering you actually see her re-enter her body & come back being slightly shocked realizing oh right I'm not alone here the moment in the song where the lyrics speak of her pouring her blood into her lover & she symbolically slits her own throat with her thumb..so powerful.. thank you for sharing your honesty her version of Caruso should not make you vry IT's definitely one to react to
She’s a powerhouse, a masterclass for many singers…..Talking for me, I don’t cry because it’s sad but because her singing is so beautiful….She takes every song and transform it to little movies….A giant artist….Too strong for the league…💕
This is a song from French singer Serge Lama who wrote it in early 70’s. The French-Egyptian singer Dalida also sang it shortly before she committed suicide. A long and dramatic history this song has!!

One of my regrets in life will be that I never saw lara fabian live , those that have , you have seen one of the greatest female singers in my life time that's for sure
Why resist ? Crying for art is a wonderful experience. It's therapeutic. The overwhelming sadness/despair of this song, as performed by Lara, is not life, it's an imitation of life (as art should be) that allows you to feel emotions that would be too costly in real life. Hence an enlargment of your experience, an enrichment of your self, of your empathy potential, of your own capacity to resist real life pains. Cry Inna, cry... 🙂
Well, thank you so much Inna😀 I do consider Laras interpretation and this rendition of "Je Suis Malade" from 1999 as the best ever made in the history of music. Try watching "Love by Grace" from the same concert. It's excellent, and it won't make you cry😀 Link here: czcams.com/video/8V0pGXZxxzE/video.html

Yeah, welcome to the journey called doing reruns of Lara's performances and crying. I can do reruns of Pavorotti too and cry, but she has so much more talent in putting emotion into her voice than even Pavarotti had.

Every time. She is incredible. As you say, she becomes the song & you feel the emotion, whether you want to or not.
