Takeshita got over with Jim and got on his shit list, all in the span of one week. Pretty impressive.
Went from take to shita in 4 minutes
@@averyl6372 For me, since his match with Hangman he's been TAKESHITA!
Takeshita got over with me during that match. guy is talented for sure.
agreed that was a excellent match
His match with jay lethal a month or so ago was much better, check it out
No question.....he can work
Absolutely. Me too.
He's also wrestled for All Japan. He is GOOD 👍
goddamn corny actually got me to laugh out loud with the amputee whooping crane line
Missed opportunity for Travis.
Love Travis but not doing the Aubrey Amputee Whooping Crane is snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory
lol
Gosh darnit Travis!!
I mean he just has a bunch of stock photos he randomly adds to certain pictures. "AMAZING ART" according to a lot of people. Yeah he has some good ones, but if you've been in the channel long enough you see the same people and same poses in different places depending on who is involved in the discussion.
This was a good match. The no selling spot was bad but I was impressed by Takeshita and he should be a tnt champ
Wasn’t one no selling spot was two
He's just there for excursion for DDT
Everyone should be a TNT champ at this point
Thank God y’all aren’t bookers. First thing y’all think is “put a title on him”😂😂😂
No selling lol its called fighting spirit man I love that shit when done correctly especially in AJPW
This Takeshita guy looks better physically than the O.G AEW roster, And his shit doesn't look like shit...
Baby face Takeshita with that body, move set and preciseness. I think he’s somebody a crowd can definitely get behind. I can’t wait to see what happens with him. TNT Title run with weekly matches would rule.
" my boy take shita"
@@averyl6372 That's what I said the first time my son was potty trained!
Ohhh, it'd 'rule' would it? 🤦♂️
I dont care what people do in DDT, I care what they do on TV in front of me in Amurica and Takeshita stole two shows in a row. Exactly the guy who should be getting the push that Wheely Utah has gotten.
FACTS
Cornette is excellent at poising the well
trade them straight up lol
" in front of me in AMERICA "
God i hate people!
They should put him with penta so they can do the grave gimmick. Penta, the undertakeshita and alex the druid
Takeshita has looked excellent so far. I hope the usual regression that happens to people in AEW does not hit this guy.
The reaction of the fans to Takeshita should be a wake up call for what type of wrestlers, and wrestling, they should have more of. Aside from the silly no selling it's the serious stuff people react to.
I think Konosuke does No Selling perfectly because he still sells, just doesn't stay down. A.K.A. Japanese Fighting Spirit. Many Indy guys fail to do it properly which then comes off as no selling. Takeshita is one of the absolute BEST I've seen in ring and honestly, outside of it. He sang "Take on Me" to PERFECTION. lol
Takeshita is a fucking star in the making. Dude made page look great and still managed to out shine him at the same time.
To me Takeshita looked more like a world champion then Page.
He’ll never be a star
@@user-jo2uv1xj2w You think Page has been a credible champion. He's look like mid card guy at best
@@user-jo2uv1xj2w he is already a star years ago
That's what I'm saying. I am a HUGE Hangman Page fan, yet seeing Konosuke for the FIRST TIME EVER give the performance he gave made me BELIEVE he could win!
I didn't like Hangman no selling the Lariat off the Top Rope like that. Konosuke reminds me a lot of Ibushi.
The no sell had me so friggin pissed. "If it looks phony, don't fuckin do it!!" Goddamn Page should've sold that like he was clotheslined out of his boots!!!
An amputee whooping crane 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Not since MJF called her a human foot have I laughed so hard.
Amputee whooping crane fucking killed me lmaaoooooo
Takeshita's matches have been refreshing.
This match shined Takeshita more than Page.. get the belt off that man asap
Your wish was granted
Takeshita looked like a million bucks
A million Young Bucks?!
I was so excited to hear Jim finally like a Japanese wrestler... literally sat here watching the episode timer, fingers crossed he wouldn't turn on him by the end... dammit, so close!
He likes Okada and Tanahashi too.
So close yet so far
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this during that match last week. It really did seem like the AEW world champion was being totally outworked by someone that is (to the viewers) some random Japanese dude we've never heard of. Takeshita's moves were crisper and better executed and he has a better look and physique to boot.
As far as the PPV goes, Punk has to go over here for AEW's sake and also for Hangman's. Fans haven't really turned on Page yet, but you put him over Punk after he's already gone over Omega, Danielson, and Cole and I think you'll start seeing the backlash because this guy would then be getting pushed entirely too hard. With the guy kind of money they had to pay guys like Punk and Danielson, I don't get the return on investment on jobbing either of them to a guy that never even held a singles title in ROH and probably wouldn't even be IC/US level in WWE if he went there.
"Mr. Take Shita"
-Jim Cornette
Jim worked me into thinking he was gonna hate this match and Konosuke who I thought was amazing
I just never gotten the appeal of Adam Page. Dude always came off as a midcarder to me. Tony Khan is out of his mind if he jobs Punk to him.
Mr. Takeshita. 😂🤣
I came away from this thinking that Takeshita was way more of a champion, in essence, than Page. The way that guy works, the power and athleticism, was just phenomenal to watch. Hope Booker of the Year can actually use this guy well.
Cowboy sh*t VS Take-a-sh*t in an "I sh*t" match.... book it Tony!!
Really liked this match. It was Page’s best match since his last match with Bryan
I love how Jim can make fun of someone then completely put them over. Jim calling him Take now is amazing!!
Edit: I understand Jim not liking DDT but woah I did not see him writing off Take that fast. This is a case where he should just realize that it's a different culture and he did it on a promotion non of us actually watch. He was calling him "my friend Take" while knowing he was gonna completely denounce him as a wrestler was a huge swerve for me as a dedicated listener!! Like damnnnn I thought Jim was gonna cut him a break on this one.
The standard is the standard. But if he keeps doing what he's doing I honestly think Jim would change his opinion.
@@natebaxter9551 I'd like to hope so too. I agreed with Jim 100% but he probably wouldn't be in AEW had he not done some dumb shit to get noticed in DDT. I also think it could've gone unnoticed/unseen if Jim hadn't basically asked for someone to look it up who otherwise would've never watched anything from DDT. Here's hoping to Jim's ex friend Take can continue to do well n not fuck it up long enough for Jim to forgive him lol.
People go search the matches between Takeshita and Tetsuya Endo, they are really good.
This match did a far better job getting Takeshita over than that match Mox had with Yuta where Yuta was covered in blood
That was a great match too and the crowd was strongly behind Yuta
@@ak96ful1 4 weeks before that match Mox beat Yuta in less than a minute.
In the match they had on Rampage he no sold 2 paradigm shifts and had to get choked out from the strongest world champion the company has had so far.
The power scaling in AEW is so off.
@@fredbrown8344 I think the whole point was his progression leading up to the 3rd match. And lets be real, talking about power scaling in pro wrestling is a whole can of worms that you don't wanna open.
@@ak96ful1 if they wanted to showcase progression they should’ve given him more offense in his first bout.
No selling 2 P-shifts is sure to get ANYONE on the card over, and I feel like they wasted that by giving it to Yuta and having him be the 3rd guy in a stable.
It elevated Yuta from jobber to Midcarder.
Imagine if they had given that spot to … Jay Lethal, Takeshita, Ethan Page, Buddy Mathews, Andrade, or Malakai Black .
It would’ve elevated an upper midcard act to the main event scene.
@@fredbrown8344 I respectfully disagree. As much as I love Takeshita, he's fits more of a traditional babyface role rather than violence. I think Yuta is great and knows how to get fired up. I believe he's a perfect fit
Awesome Shoot Today Jim!!😎🐐🐐
That's like no longer liking an amazing actor because you find out they got their start doing bad B-movies. It's pretty short-sighted. All it means is Takeshita had to get his start and get exposure somewhere, and it takes nothing away from his talent as a performer.
Yeah I'm getting sick n tired of his bullshit excuse for not liking someone. I ain't gonna look it up to see wtf happened to him at the other promotion cause I don't care about that wrestling. What he does in AEW is what Im gonna watch.
@@BigK187thDiv Dude I can't even find the invisible man thing that killed Mance Warner for Corny in GCW. And at this point, I think Corny just wants to find some excuse to stop watching wrestling altogether, but he knows if he doesn't talk about it, there isn't much else he can talk about on The Experience or The Drive Thru
Thank you.
Corny needs to understand he's doing more to promote the outlaw bullshit than anyone by constantly talking about it. If he wants it to go away he should stop bringing attention to it.
@@BigK187thDiv Jim can like whoever he wants. Why would that get you bent out of shape?
That tombstone looked like Take actually landed on his neck.
Oh FYI I am loving the Twitter posts about Audrey's weird poses lol
Takeshita has a lot of young Muta in him. Love to see how he develops
Its amazing nobody sees what they did with his fake name.
Take a shid a
I'm still in awe by the fact that takeshita has more personality and fire than the champ. So
W/o dating a word, English isn't even his thing! This match did page's opponent more than page less!
@@wallyrosario654 It "speaks" volumes!
After googling a whooping crane, I am fucking DEAD 💀💀💀💀
Is Wheeler Yuta a budget Konosuke Takeshita?
"...amputee whooping crane..."
How does Corny come up with stuff like this on the spot?
It's called 'wit'. Something you'll never have to worry about.
@@ennbee2051 Sure I won't, junior. 👍
not being as dopey as some people i guess.
Take-a-shita 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 FUCK THATS HILARIOUS!!!
Takeshita is so Charismatic
Im become an instant fan of him when i first saw him against Danielson then i saw his earlier matches in AEW Wow just amazing
this match was good i loved that last ride powerbomb takeshita hit page with he has some hard hitting move set
His moveset is heavily inspired by Sami Zayn. Really appreciated the commentators mentioning that
Yea that powerbomb was nice. I think he needs a chance. Because I have seen some of today's top wrestlers old videos of them doing some of that same dumb shit like Jim is getting on takeshita for. Shayna Bazler wrestled that Joey dude that put lollipops in people's mouth and let him feel her up like a hot air balloon and made her look like a complete fool in the ring but she got a chance. I say it's not too late to save him.
That Takeshita guy should be popular with Jericho since Shit is his favorite word.
Take Shita. Lmao I swear, Jim be killing me. Lol
Takeshita has grown on me massively after only 2-3 matches
Take is so good. Like seriously. Even when he was really skinny he was great. Matches with Tetsuya endo amazing
Cm Punk was super over in Houston. I chanted out loud for him in the Fertitta center with my friends.
Ta-Ke-Shta
The i is almost silent a lot of the time in Japanese
He's doing it on purpose. Jim despises Asian wrestlers so he botches the names intentionally. You'll also notice that he never has anything nice to say about them.
@@kalen2465 Oh is it? Except the fact he has been extremely appreciative of the "Asian" guy in this video.
@@kalen2465 I know he does it on purpose, he does it with a lot of men and women on the roster. So I’m ok with that.
It’s his unwillingness to accept the difference between the wrestling cultures in Japan somehow blaming Takeshita for wrestling for DDT like it’s a bad thing. Especially without fully understanding what DDT is.
Couple that with his decades long anger from knowing that everyone in the world knows wrestling isn’t actually “real”.
Anyway, Takeshita is an obvious talent. I’m here to see him.
Adam page as world champ makes it feel like a territory champ.
This match started off very well, but they then started going into the spots that looked way too choreographed and video game like.
AEW showcases a lot of wrestlers with a lot of moves that they fire out like a machine gun but they just keep debuting more and more people without getting anyone over with stories, mic work, or even ring psychology. I liked this guy's ring work, though.
🤣 5 secs this time. those cm punk jingles get better and better every time
Take a shit is very promising , bar beating up a kid in the past this dude can wrestle well he has a great move set and a great look. I look forward to seeing what he does in the future
I want a “My Boy TakeShita!” T shirt
Bruh! Amputee whooping crane 😂😂😂
Amputee Whooping Crane = Gold
"my boy take shita" XD
As long as the guy doesn’t do anymore comedy gag spots I’m fine with pretending he never did them and is a serious wrestler.
I thought CM Punk would be a heel in Texas wearing that T-shirt.
Darby and Sammy may no sell by recovering too quickly but these two were no selling the IMPACT of the moves AND the recovery.
Oh I see his last name is "take-a-shitta"
takeshita had a match with maki itoh that lasted over 12 minutes
Oh lord...
@@SpiralPoliFemboy check it out, it's on youtube, i was impressed with takeshita's highlights on dynamite so i was hoping i would see a match, a regular match against another guy and sure enough the top result was takeshita vs itoh
@@britishbulldogsvsthehartfo5677 I've seen Itoh work matches and when she does actual moves, the execution is good. But she has the wrong attitude and is with the wrong crowd. When she does a DDT, a Texas Cloverleaf or a Diving Headbutt (the top rope one not the kokeshi), she looks good. If she were to get serious and legitimately train as a pro wrestler, I can see her as an adequate mid card girl. She has a funny personality and she can sort of work when she's doing actual wrestling. Once she cuts out all of the joke spots, she'll have something.
Now Takeshita is pretty good. I'll say that the kid has talent. If he also works with the right crowd and becomes serious about wrestling, he can be a solid mid card cruiserweight. I don't think he'll be as iconic as Tajiri or as technically sound as TAKA Michinoku but he'll do fine. He just needs to get serious about his shit or else he'll be remembered as the guy with all the potential who spent too much time with idiots.
@@SpiralPoliFemboy i think joke spots are the only thing itoh can do to make herself stand out, she's so small and seems to enjoy dressing and singing like a goof
i thought her match with britt baker was hilarious but even though she acts dumb she would make a great champion and would do more than thunder rosa who bores everyone unless she's doing a ridiculous gimmick match
takeshita is so smooth in the ring, he just needs to stay away the joke matches and aew in general because they see him as a jobber, did you watch itoh vs takeshita?
@@britishbulldogsvsthehartfo5677 Haven't watched it yet.
The singing and dancing gets Itoh enough attention. I think it would work better if she sang and acted like a goof before and after matches but in the ring she'd be on fire.
Crash Holly acted like a complete moron outside of matches but in the ring he was one of the most technically gifted wrestlers of the WWF Attitude Era.
Danhausen acts like a weirdo but in the ring, from what I've seen of his indy work, he can legit wrestle and his moves look good.
The Hurricane was a goof and yet in the ring he was one of the most captivating and eye catching cruiserweights of the 2000s.
Itoh should keep the comedy outside the ring. Then when she gets in the ring she can actually work and shock people. Imagine her being a cutesy pop star one second and the next second she has someone tapping out with a Texas Cloverleaf. That would be awesome. She'd be someone that her opponent would take lightly and let their guard down, and then she'd capitalize on it by being a good wrestler, and with some underhanded tactics here and there because she's a heel. Itoh has the potential to break the mold and it's sad that she hasn't jumped at that chance by being more serious in ring.
Watch Crash Holly's matches with Hardcore Holly, Dean Malenko, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Tazz and William Regal. He'd look like a complete dope outside the ring but then he'd be pulling arm drags, hip tosses and spinning elbows from out of nowhere when his opponent got a little too comfortable. Maki Itoh could be that. That's the perfect formula for a comedy wrestler. Weirdo who uses their unorthodox mannerisms to sucker opponents into a false sense of security, and then they strike.
Modern comedy wrestlers should study Crash Holly tapes imo. Dude might be the most underrated comedy wrestler ever. Dude could work like hell and used his knack for comedy to compliment his skill. A lot more people should do that now. And Crash was also a great Hardcore wrestler since he wasn't a garbage deathmatch guy. He'd be clever with weapons and use them in effective ways in order to sneak the win and keep his precious title. Dude knew how to work with anything. Crash honestly made me fall in love with Hardcore and Comedy wrestling. Because he knows how to do it. He isn't Ian Rotten or Orange Cassidy. He's Michael Lockwood.
So no problem with take getting hit with the buck shot and immediately getting back up?
id toss the TNT title on him, but because they treated it like a hot potato another title switch might cause some angst
Did Excalibur call him "ta-keisha-tah"
Takeshita showed immense talent against hangman. It was a great match.
His last name is literally TakeShit 😂😂😂
Takeshita looks great and is a good worker.
> Loves wrestler
> Finds out they did a comedy match
> BANNED
- Guy who wrestled a teenage mutant ninja turtle
And defend a sexual predator Rick Flair
Takeshita is starting to heat up , dude just looks clean and crisp in the ring
Takeshita can high-motor work -- but ya gotta wonder if Tony Khan actually had a plan for him before the AEW/DDT deal was announced.
And since the W/L record is supposed to mean something....2-0 on Dark, 0-1 on Rampage, 0-1 on Dynamite (in that order)......and 2-0 for bookings outside AEW -- it looks like someone on a USA tour that an agent booked for him; not some cornerstone grappler in a ballyhooed talent exchange.
The victory over Aramis on May 1 (PWG Delivering The Goods) is arguably his best match, so far; his top rope lariat there was better than the one delivered to Jay Lethal.
Takeshita is only 26, I won’t hold that DDT stuff against him. But AEW or WWE need to sign him ASAP
Give Take a cute and innocent looking girl manager who is to be his onscreen love interest and he just wrestles as a babyface.
I hated how Adam page just didn't sell any strikes, takeshita was throwing very good looking strikes and he just took it on the chin. If he properly layed those in the way page had his head and chin he'd be out immediately. That was horrible to watch. Takeshita is great though, so good the language barrier isn't too bad of a problem becuase you can believe he's actually in a contest like actual wrestling. Although it is unfortunate that he wrestled a child I am genuinely more interested in watching his matches more than 98% of their roster so, yeah I'm not bothered
It’s funny I hear this while I Takeshita 🚽🤣🤣🤣
check out his dpw fire match.
Dye Takeshita hair, change name in. Guy is talented why can’t you help show him you don’t have to take literal shits on people here in America and make him super fucking ninja or whatever. Talent is talent. They just need to listen to you Mr Cornette. I’m one of your biggest fans.
Just because the announcers pissed me off I will put this to bed:
Japanese is syllabic based. When you know the pronunciation of said syllabi its easy.
Konosuke Takeshita is
Ko no su ke Ta ke shi ta
(Co) no (sue) (kay) Ta (kay) (she) ta
Some times you drop the ue on sue and it goes (co) nos (kay)
Honestly pronouncing Japanese names is very straight forward
I miss Olivier :(
Y he wearing a amateur wrestling headgear
My only complaint about this match is I don't think he should've been in the ring with the world champion imo...and at the end of the day those DDT guys are just ppl to come over and get jobbed out by Tony's big stars👎👎
Takeshita rocks, kicking out of a tombstone makes me sick however.
Why? Look how many people have kicked out of 2 or more undertaker tombstones
Takeshita looked way superior and much better than Page. Like he probably should of won. First time seeing him and he seems like a really good wrestler from what I saw from this match. Hope we can see more of him
Take-a-shita
Ive learned not to like anyone new, because as soon as i do, AEW will book them so terribly i wont care about them anymore.
i’ve been listening for a couple of weeks now. i figured out some of these nicknames. i know who mascot is. i know who hardly boys are. who is twinketoes?

Over there
Why is it that Japan has a promotion where they sanction matches between grown men fighting children and plastic props? Is it a cultural thing? And Is this a well renowned promotion with a high budget or an indie promotion in Japan?
I remember when Jim was of the opinion the worst thing an indie wrestler who wanted to be taken seriously could do in front of live fans apparently was wrestling a woman unless she was both bigger than he was and at least six feet tall (so basically Rio Storm, NYX, Maddison Eagles, Vannessa Kraven, etc.). Then someone had to introduce him to Dramatic Dream Team. He had no idea and it's kind of sad to see his innocence so thoroughly destroyed. I bet if someone showed him Claudio Castagnoli wrestling Sara Del Rey the only thing we'd get from Jim is mild indifference. What we really have to do is get him to see the no loud noises match, or the slow motion match, or the no grappling allowed match...he might actually like that one but hate the way it was booked.
Anyway, the weird subset of DDT fans are easy to explain. They have no respect for "American" wrestling, and to them DDT is a parody of "American" wrestling. It's weird for us because you'd be hard pressed to find a large enough group of "Americans" who have such open disdain for any other region's wrestling. What I can't explain is why Tony Khan, as an American, is so open to having these DDT wrestlers on his television show. Takeshita is being respectful, true, but the Maki Itohs and the Nakazawas are basically making fun of him in his own ring on his dime. Omega's Canadian, so he probably considers himself exempt from the derision, but I don't know why anyone who identifies as "American" would want to work with DDT, or any of its offshoots, unless they just needed the money or ring time. Khan needs neither.
I can't believe Jim Cornette is having trouble pronouncing the name "Takeshita". Lol.
Takeshita took a shitta on Page! And completelly out performed him!
Imagine being so bitter and petty that you dislike a guy who did amazingly well just because he happens to come from a promotion you don't like. No research or clue as to what he was doing there, but just immediately marking him as forever tainted even though you love what you have seen from him.
I hope they sign Takeshita and give him a nice mid card push. If he continues to impress like that, make him a main event star!
I love Corny but I dont think he should bury Takeshita just because he wrestled in DDT and they do weird stuff there. Someone should ask Corney what he thought about Mick Foeley wrestling a cardboard cutout of Rocky Balboa
or about Jim himself wrestling a TMNT character lol
I think its more of a "well he was ok with doing this, so he will probably do something worse eventually" reaction.
@@radandpaisley how DARE HE do something fun for the kids that wasnt televised, this invalidates ANY AND ALL opinions and wisdom of Jim Cornette because of this thing from over 30 years ago!!!
