    A lot of people in AEW are working with injuries. Danielson hid his concussion seizures and lied about his orbital bone being healed and they let him come back and wrestle. There's a culture in that locker room that they're all doing this "for the greater good" and they're rewarded with praise from their peers and fans about how tough they are. They STILL don't have concussion protocol or drug testing either. They will never know if talent are self medicating to deal with pain. The fans should just be honest and say that they support AEW because they don't like WWE and don't care about anyone's health or wellbeing, they just want carnage.

    I'd love to know what you guys think of wrestlers _not_ signing with AEW lately. Matt Riddle went to MLW, Nick Nemeth (Dolph Ziggler) and Xia Brookside went to TNA, etc. Regardless of what they say with official statements - I have to imagine a lot of these guys and gals are like Cody and know not to officially burn bridges where possible - you have to imagine that the industry talent has just caught on to the sh*tshow that AEW is. That more and more wrestlers have seen how ex-WWE superstars like Edge are treated, and pros like Jay Lethal from TNA and ROH are turned into jobbers, and that people don't want to deal with Tony, or the -Dumb F u c k s- Young Bucks and their stupid boys' club antics, or Meltzer and his dirt sheet connections backstage leaking BS narratives all the time, or any of the unprofessional bullsh*t that drove away Punk, Cody, Regal, etc. and seem to be steering clear. It's, uh, not a healthy sign there, is it? Is AEW just going to sign a bunch of accident-prone indie "darlings" (good thing they're signing with the safest, greatest promotion in the world that's great!) and a bunch of older guys past their prime who want to collect a paycheck in 2024?

    Sting will always been known as the down from the rafters guys showing up with a bat.
    We can split hairs about whether or not he was a "stunt guy" but what he did clearly resonated with the stunt guys of today

    I saw a clip of the Darby spot on IG and it was hard to watch. That was super reckless. But according to Tony, this company is the safest and has the "best safety record" in wrestling.
    The Sting spot was rough too. He was never known for taking these types of bumps in his prime and now suddenly wants to go through tables and do risky stuff. It's like Rick Martel near the end of his career suddenly deciding to be a deathmatch wrestler.

Imagine if they saved it up and in his final match you see him hit some crazy spot. It would have been awesome and memorable. Instead it’s absolutely expected and if he doesn’t do something big it will just be disappointing.

    So glad Brian stood up and called out the Takeashit nonsense like he was purposely given a bad name. It's not pronounced that way, and in Japanese it's not spelled that way. If the announcers said it as "Takeshta" and the onscreen graphics listed his name as 竹下, "Takeashit" would never even be a thing.
    Look at my name. Take it from someone who knows, if I could spell my name Семёнов and pronounce it as it always has been, no o e would have ever made the connection and I wouldn't have had to put up with the same joke since I was 13. 🤣

    • @pendafen7405
      @pendafen7405 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Yes, Brian was right, it's really lazy, cheap and racially-insensitive for Jim to make such a crack. He should be above that. It's not like Takeshita can do anything about his given birth name, and as a name is a very personal thing, no-one should be forced to abbreviate or use a stage-name if they don't want to. That being said--your childhood classmates did nickname you Jizzy or something like that, right? Only for the bants of course.

    • @KyleS3m3noff
      @KyleS3m3noff Před 7 měsíci +1

      @pendafen7405 yeah, it's pronounced "sem", like "hem". Sem-N-ov. But, of course, every 13yo kid (which means about 50% of grown adults as well) can't help themselves.
      Imagine if it was converted using a C, and they allowed us to keep the V instead of changing it to FF to make it "more English". Cemenov... simple as that, no one would have ever made the reach. 😉
      But all of this is to say, part of Jim's gimmick is to be childish about some things. I get that. If he doesn't like someone and wants to shit on their name everything he says it (like the way he whines "Kenniiieeee!"), whatever. It's dumb for a grown man, but whatever.
      The Takeshita thing just seems like particularly low-hanging fruit and below him, frankly, considering the very notion of it only exists in a translation to a language he can read.
