Skyrim Creation Kit - Altering Weapon Stats

In this tutorial I will quickly show you the basic way to alter weapon stats. This will allow you to create custom stats such as weight, damage and aniamtions for the weapons already included in skyrim.
This is an extreme example but just gives you an idea of what you can achieve.
I have only gone over this basically as I do not have much knowledge on editing weapon statistics.

do what he did, use a gun for the view model, and set the range and damage to 100000000, you now have guns in skyrim

Thank you for the video. Unfortunately it still isn't working for me.
I am using vortex, and a mod that alters imperial armor appearance. Unfortunately the base armor rating is too low for my taste and I want to cjange it to make sure imperial patrols don't get owned by wolves and mud crabs.
I just don't know how to make the creation kit understand I want to alter the modded armors vase stat

You pressed save but when i press save it opens a menu telling me to save it in a directory and if i choose data in skyrim and write the filename as Skyrim.esm it says that its a masterfile or is currently in use

Yes, you need to either set a non-ESM plugin file as your Active File, or the game will ask you to make a plugin to save your changes. You cannot save changes to an ESM without an active plugin file.

@@jorshpintos Glad you asked. Thankfully it's pretty simple:
Basically, when you load Skyrim.esm and finish tinkering with whatever, then go to save it, the CK will ask you what you want to name the file; choose a filename and it will create an ESP with that name in your Skyrim's Data folder.
After that, all you need to do is activate it with either the standard Skyrim launcher (should be under the Data Files section) or any mod manager of your choice. It will show up on the bottom of your load order by default.
Note that "the bottom of your load order" means that it will be loaded AFTER all other plugins (such as Skyrim.esm, Dawnguard.esm, etc) after your game boots up, which means it will override anything else that changes the same values. For example, if you modify a Steel Sword and save your change as SteelSwordNew.esp, then that esp will override any other changes to the Steel Sword AS LONG AS it is the last thing that modifies Steel Swords in your load order.
