I'm happy to have met Dr. Adetunji Adeniyan. He is one of the best hands in Fluids Mechanics and his specialisations are MagnetoHydrodynamics and Instability. He have many publications in those area. He has a great passion for teaching and most if not all the students that pass through him enjoy his classes. You will love him more when he is explaining some "gray" areas in Mechanics. I love him 100%

And as reasonable as UNILAG can be they haven’t thought it wise to award this man an Associate Professorship after all the stress he has passed through

If Nigeria was already having economic problem around 1982/83 it shows that the leaders have always been gambling with our economic progress

    • @ADE-of-LAGOS

1982/83 was just about when the economic peril started. I was just about getting into my early teems then. Widespread corruption was in its "teething" stage then but societal values were still high. Then Prof. of engineering, Prof. Awojobi of UNILAG used to "fight" tooth and nail with Shagari government about their recklessness, throwing numbers at the government and the public. When security agents came after him, his wife and kids usually took cover in our house because the wife is a family member and we lived just across Yabatech. Oil price had fallen just before then and things got hard. Shagari implemented Austerity measure but it had no positive effects. But politicians did not stop in their corrupts way. In fact a minister, which i believe is Umaru Diko, said Nigerians are not suffering because he hasn't seen people picking food from public waste dumps. Power failure was not too rampant but i remember we had lanterns and candles on standby. Water runs from taps in our house and there were public taps in every corner in the community (when i ended up living on Lagos Island). As kids though, your problem is not Nigeria's economy but you would know that certain things were not in supply any more.

I also have a lecturer that has been a Doctor since late 1980 in UNILAG Mass Communication Department but he has not become a Professor....The politics in UNILAG is too much, meanwhile most of his students have become Professors, one of them is currently the HOD of UNILAG Mass Comm. #WhatACountry!
