I appreciate your determination and efforts to deal with security challenges particularly the issue of banditry that makes Katsina State as one of the high risk State in Northwest. With utmost due respect Your Excellency as you rightly said the problems starts small and grow big. The genesis of banditry to is a self-inflicted injuries. For decades farmers -herders conflicts became annual events that keeps getting worse by each season after the harvest. The victims of these perennial violence were the farmers who end up losing their crops, lives and traumatized by well armed and ready combat herders. Later it graduated to cattle rustling which is exclusively Fulani affairs as a result of competition among them. I spoke with one of the Fulani man from the affected areas in Katsina State,he said our people are not fair to our long term friends the Hausas by allowing and inviting foreigners to attack innocent people. If you look at our forests they are not as thick as that of Gombe, Adamawa and Taraba and the proximity they have with Fulani from Cameroon, Chad and Niger but they do not accommodate foreigners and in our own States Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna and Sokoto many foreigners were arrested in the course of security operations. I may go on and on to make my point,as it stands Your Excellency you have a long way to go. If those closed to you can tell you the bitter truth people lost faith in government.
