My wife got me the all black metal one (non titanium) for Christmas! What surprised me the most is how comfortable the bracelet is, and how easy it is to size up.
@@doctoruttley I'm in the same boat. Swiss and high end Japanese watches now stay at home after I got back into Casio. Resin gwb5600 for work and beater, blue steel gmwb5000 for a feeling of luxury.
now that production has ended, this camo TCM-1 and the origin TB-1 are both $1700, and in a couple of years they will be $3-4K a piece on the open market.
Something about the Square G Shocks - I have a pretty hefty collection of the squares and don’t know really what it is but it’s a true addiction :-) I have the Black DLC Titanium and the aged IP 5000 and they both will stay in the collection. Also of interest Casio announced earlier in the week that they have officially stopped production of the Titanium Squares.
I got the black version.....incredible piece..!! Yes it's a silly price but OMG it's awesome....and nobody has a clue what it is which is great 👍👍👍 I'm not a fan of the dark faces as difficult to read but the camo version is cool 😀😀
It wasn't so long ago the all-metal ones were "outrageous." And then Casio said, "If you think that's crazy, hold my beer ..." Wondering when we'll see a non-DLC titanium, a lower cost titanium for people who don't mind scuffing up an expensive square but would appreciate natural gray. $1000? Or one with the 3229 for about $400-$500?
Enjoy it in good health. My ultimate square is still GW-S5600-1JF, they just aren't all that common in Europe. But I'll probably pick one up this year.
I waer my basic 5600e every day at home it's basically my ultimate beater watch. I do have like 10 other watches in frequent rotation but square G-Shock is my love for life. Now I'm waiting for delivery of a GW-B5600BC, and i'm not worried for a battery life at all 'cuz I know I'll wear until I break it, so that is as long as I'm alive 😂 This Titanium model is insane good looking, but out of my price range. 😍
Ti feels good on the skin. I’ve had a Breitling emergency on bracelet. I couldn’t even really feel it on wrist. Also always room temp to the touch. I sold it and haven’t had a Ti piece in awhile. I’ve got a Ti citizen pro master on rubber coming. Ti back in the fold soon. Bn0200-05e is the reference I believe.
For me, the real King of Square is, and always will be, the GMW-B5000, full steel and regular display, 158gr. of real quality. Most attractive and also most classic than the titanium square models.
Awesome entry in 2020! 😄 I picked up my 5610 from the watch box just before I opened YT and saw this video. 😉 Making me wanting to purchase other Squares. But: the watch needs to have Solar and Multiband 6.
How come? My basic square is very accurate and has a long lasting battery that is easy to change out and I won't have to put it in a window trying to get sun and a signal. 1/2 the price of the solar.
The price is very high indeed but it is justified by the limited production numbers. In fact, this model was already discontinued by Casio. So it cannot be compared with a non limited version, where the cost is amortized over much higher numbers.
At the moment, I have four square. A GMW-B5000, a GW-M5610MR, a DW-5035R and a very very old Marlin series, a Casio Mariner. Now, I have targeted a MTG-B1000D.........
No indeed Paul2083 ( I see you were born in the future) stare is not all you can do, I too have a full metal SKMEI which I enjoy very much but I really like the look of the titcamo too, so I've bought a new negative display DW-5600BBM-2ER ($50) & a replacement SS camo bezel & bracelet kit from AliExpress ($65, they do a titanium version for about $140). My version won't be titanium ( I rather like the weight of the full metal) & it's just a basic module but it will look 97% like the real thing for $115. I'm such a cheapskate, but a very happy slightly smug cheapskate so that's OK. Get on it lad. :)
John is great but my NTH from him. Personal care. Not a fan of the squares but I do have an analog GWR-B1000, don't wear it often but it does get wrist time. Very light.
It looks stunning , I would perhaps pay half the price but I feel that 1600 euro is a bit much for any watch let alone a Casio. Maybe if it was a Casio AE 1200 in titanium.
The bluetooth versions of the solar touch watches don't keep the same power levels as the none bluetooth versions of gshock. So be careful. My 5600b always drops well below 50% if I go too many days without charging.
Considering also that the GMW-B5000 is €499 (more or less the same in USD) while these titanium versions are €1650! Too much for a non-GPS watch, I think. For this price I wanna on the Casio G-Shock clasp also the same security lock which is on the MRG series. But there isn't.
I was looking for an aftermarket metal bezel for a 5600 and came across an allegedly titanium bracelet / bezel combo for $129.99 on Aliexpress. Same color scheme as Rob’s. Who knows if it’s for real, but it might be worth taking a risk now that I know the price of the real deal.
No, just no. Thats just pushing the limit, and personally I feel that 1600 dollars is way to much for a minor upgrade of titanium and sapphire crystal.
This watch's price has nothing to do with the materials used...it is targeted to collectors. People complaining about the price are simply not "getting it".
Hey Rob is there a square with the look and features of the GW-M5610BC-1JF that also has bluetooth and isnt $500? I just bought my wife a ladies Gshock (GMAB800-8A) for her bday (dec 31st) It has bluetooth but I only paid 100 bucks so clearly bluetooth isnt what makes them $500 and I'd like to try a square.
These officially got discontinued about a week ago. I got a video comparing the black and camo version if anyone is interested. Both are very nice and I find myself wearing the black one just a little more as I find it more versatile. czcams.com/video/0GIM4EBXcmU/video.html
The one I got has a blatant manufacturing defect. I'm shipping it back for a refund. A portion of one of the links was worked down to bare titanium. It was a very obvious flaw in craftsmanship. I've got a video showing it but don't want to post other videos on Random Robs channel here.
I just acquired this watch. Got over the pricing on the basis that what you're paying for is design and something that is very new. On the module argument, I've realised I don't care; in the same way you can find a ETA 2824 in a $200 watch through to a $2000+ watch and one who parts with that much money for "the same thing" is labelled a fool, at the end of the day things at this price point are not rational purchases that can somehow be decided on a cost/benefit basis. Anyway, that's how I justify it to myself for spending the obscene money on this watch... Haha
I am amused by Casio and customers such as yourself buying these weird and fairly unattractive models. They definitely are not my cup of tea. Having said that, more power to you. I do own a few Casio models (including the DW5600) and I really like them. I'm getting the itch again and will look at their portfolio soon.
If someone told you a few years ago you would spend $1600 on a Gshock square, I bet you would have called that guy a wackadoodle
my most expensive watch is a g shock square, how did that work out?
Wackadoodle! I love that word.
lol all my friends were super annoyed when they learned that I spent $500 for a Gshock square
This comment didn't age well... Since the new mrg squares come at $4000 😅 Which is exactly why gshock make them so expensive, because they can 🤯
@@NightSpook I stand by the term wackadoodle

That is the coolest Gshock I’ve ever seen. Enjoy it in good health
So I'm trying to save up for a Tudor and I keep coming back to your channel 😔😂
What model? Tudor is very good.

You have really got me thinking about a few different square models I like the gold and of course the one you are showing off now
And here I am all stoked about the red jelly one I got the other day. Seriously, well done....this is a beautiful watch.
Finally the creme de la creme of the G Shock world!!!
For now right? Maybe they will do ceramic next?
Way too spendy for what it is. But glad you like it. You’re clearly excited about it.

I don’t regret spending $1600 on this square AT ALL! Love this thing.
Exactly the same as me got getting rid of mine G-Shock mrg because it is light comfortable and going to last a very very long time
pair of suckers paying $1600 for a casio.
Change my mind keeping the G Shock MRG and thinking of getting ride of the hyped Omega Seamaster

Love my squares. The 35th Anniversary DW 5035 is definitely next on my list if I can find one. Awesome video!
Interesting that if you go on Casio’s website they now have the Camo and Black DLC Titanium’s listed for the same price...$1700!!!
Didn’t notice that
Glad you’re happy. I would never do it.
Sapphire glass and titanium with DLC though. Good DLC treatment was where the money went!
we need square g-shock with mip screen. very good video.
Yup got mine for X-mas and love it! I haven’t been this excited about a digital watch in years. Also cool to own a Casio again

good watch but the stainless steel gmw 5000 is overpriced by it self( which I currently own) but the pricing of this watch is bonkers

Pretty much. And I know for a fact people have insane square collections.

Love the camo print and texture, or what looks like texture .
You can feel the texture for sure
My only complaint about any gshock is that on some models the buttons are hard to use. These seem ok.
