I could see the former International Basketball League team San Diego Stingrays joining the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a possible expansion franchise team in San Diego, California at a newly built arena stadium. The Las Vegas NBA expansion franchise team should call themselves the Las Vegas Silver Bandits where they would play their home games at the T - Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada

  • @Boxing316

Even though this list is correct about the top two they’re definitely not correct about the other top 5 possibilities when you put Montreal ahead of Vancouver when Vancouver has already had a team and the city has grown in the last 15 years since losing the team. If the Vancouver grizzlies were still in the NBA, there’s no way that they would ever be moving right now. If Memphis went back to Vancouver, they would draw better than they do in Memphis.

  • @DuckOfRubber

Between the Golden Knights, UFC, and concerts and other events, T-Mobile Arena is booked pretty solid. Plus the NBA always wants to be the primary tenant at shared arenas and they would be secondary at T-Mobile, at least until the Golden Knights current lease expires and probably beyond as the Golden Knights are minority owners. It might work as a temporary home as a new arena is built, but the demand for event space in Vegas is seemingly infinite right now.

I love seeing the leagues go international, but it’s not economically feasible. Also, teams and leagues will need to implement special contractual conditions for all players in cities like London, Paris, and Dakar.
What should happen is that the NBA, NHL, MLB, and NFL continue to play neutral site games (both preseason and regular season) in global communities to grow interest. To grow the sport, the leagues should also have special cable and streaming channels in those countries /regions dedicated to their respective leagues for special content and a select games each day. I think It would be cool one day to have a Caribbean, Euro, Africa, and Asia versions of the MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL to showcase global talent and play games against the US/Canada-based pro teams. Maybe someday.

NBA is so watered down because they don’t have enough good players because they have devalued the inside. game. Remember big men like Olajuwon who were big men that dominated without shooting 3 pointers? NBA needs to push back the 3 point line and possibly widen the court. I could see international expansion to Mexico City, Canada after Seattle & Las Vegas.

Lots of white flight for a league obsessed with race. Like how they put the token Dakar mention in there.
