    In this video myself and a friend replace the clutch with a dual friction 'Stage 1' clutch supplied by CG Motorsport.
    This is more if a guide than a full on tutorial, purely because we didn't know how long each part would take.
    But I hope this helps :)

    My Colt has the 'robotised' auto gearbox. As this is a manual gearbox with a computer doing the biz for shifting etc would this excellent video be equally applicable?

      Unfortunately I don't have any experience with that type of gearbox. If you sign up to the CTOG facebook group someone may be able to help. They welcome all Colts not just turbo models (like the name suggests)

      Any luck? How do you know it is the clutch without having a pedal, sorry to bother I think mine is on the way out, I can`t hit the red line even when trying to accelerate hard in 3rd. about 120K on the clock.

    Can you point where exactly in this video the clutch cable was removed? It gives me some problems with a squick every time I press the clutch. Was it the one next to the shifting cable?

    • @hoodedreeper
      @hoodedreeper  Před rokem

      The clutch is hydraulic. The two cables are for the gear shifter

    I ve just changed my old clutch which had 200.000 km and started sleeping on 220hp map. Replaced it with a 4 pack performance clutch from Sachs ( cleaned the old flywheel) but now I get vibrations whenever I try to start it smoothly. My mechanic said I need to break in the new clutch for about 300-400 km. Is it normal for new clutch to act like that ?

    • @hoodedreeper
      @hoodedreeper  Před rokem

      Was it cleaned by wiping it or skimmed? Was it aligned correctly?

      @@hoodedreeper it seems it's getting better after I put on some kms driving in city. The flywheel got resurfaced before the installation I don't know if they wiped it tho..

    Hello man,can you can help me with some advice? I have a 2008 colt 1.3 with manual gearbox..and I can only change just to 4 and fifth gear,the first and second one ..not letting me to change,
    Also,the gearbox it's not doing weird crank noises like..(when you don't press completly the clutch)
    Sorry for bad english though

    • @hoodedreeper
      @hoodedreeper  Před 2 lety +1

      Sounds like the clutch itself has gone and will need replacing

      @@hoodedreeper yeah,I think that too now..I have observed the clutch let the car move itself when it's completly up the pedal If you know what I mean,months ago the car moved without even giving some gas pedal

    How did you take out the drive shafts from the gearbox?

    • @hoodedreeper
      @hoodedreeper  Před 2 lety

      Once the support bearing removed, it just pulled out

    • @yosefrafael

      @@hoodedreeper ok, two questions.
      1) doesnt the drive shaft sit in the gearbox with a locking ring? Have understood that the drive sit hard in the gearbox.
      2) that bearing, i have never heard anyone have any issue with it and havend seen if it is possible to replace only the bearing. Is it just a normal bearing that is big enough to go over the CV joint in case it needs to be replaced, or do you have to take of the cv joint from the axel to instal the bearing?

    • @hoodedreeper
      @hoodedreeper  Před 2 lety

      @@yosefrafael the support bearing is split in 2 halves, one stays on the car and the other is a C shaped bracket. I dont recall any locking rings on the inner CV

      Its more 'bitey' than stock so be careful when pulling away. But it feels great and holds the extra power fine
