No actually she asked Simone what do you need help with in learning service. At the same time thinking she's a second stew so she knows most things but someone turned out not to know anything. even when texting her with drinks on a tray she was walking around aimlessly looking confused. Didn't even know how to open a wine bottle!

She always favors her 2nd service worker, and makes the 3rd feel like the unwanted step sister. So if we address Aston, we have to also address Kate’s faults.
Rhylee is a monster, inside and out. She couldn't even get along with Ross, and Ross was the nicest, calmest Bosun ever. I hope they bring back the same deck crew for another season (minus Rhylee), and chef Kevin, cuz the guys on this season are hilarious and a blast to watch. Long live the Brü Crü!

Is Kate and Cap Lee not looking at the same thing on the TV?? Riley is a total wild cannon, both years. It was not just Ashton. She goes off the hook on everyone that says anything to her. She has major anger issues. Kate would get a different side of her if she worked the interior.

There is close captioning. All you have to do is go to your settings and you’ll be able to set it. I always use it on the show because I can’t hear half of what they’re saying, they talk so fast and some have an accent.
Captain Lee has said this in his blog and we've all seen it Ashton did set her up for failure. Especially the mission trip debacle. I'm not even sure the beach picnic should have been canceled! Maybe after what happened to him last season he was overly cautious.let's face it Riley was never going to be able to do anything right whether she watched her mouth or not.

Capt Lee is wrong. You don’t bring back a person with a poisonas personality like Rhylee. Capt Lee set up Ashton for failure (not Ashton set up Rhylee for failure).

Unfortunately I've lost some respect for Captain Lee. I used to think he was fair and impartial, but his strong friendship with Kate has made him inconsistent with his messages.
In this interview he states that, "Ashton should have managed Riley better and shown her how to tie the knot." However in other documented interviews he's had zero tolerance for Simone's same needs to 'learn the basics,' and was very harsh verbally on her not knowing the skills ahead of being hired. One could argue Riley being a 3rd deck hand doesn't have to know as much but that's just not consistent either. She has ample boating experience and should have also known the basics. It's not consistent that 'Ashton should manage and be patient,' but 'Kate shouldn't have to deal with the same and manage.'
Again I know the reasoning behind this. Captain Lee has extremely high regards for Kate and unfortunately that's mudding the waters for his normally consistent and fair behavior. Kate didn't care for Simone, so Captain Lee (regardless if he'll admit it) adopted the same/similar opinion. Had Simone been under Ashton and did the same as Kate, he'd be blamed for not teaching her the proper skills. It's like a real ship listening to these two. There's no disagreement on anything. It's like a Captain and the echo of the Lieutenant Commander. "I agree. Yep so do I."
Lee has the hots for Kate. Therefore she can do no wrong. I used to like him,but after last season I’m sick of his favoritism towards her. The fact that she left the boat and didn’t return until 5 pm the next day, shows how much he lets her get away with. Every time he talks about her he sounds like a schoolboy talking about his first crush.
I so agree with all of you here & your comments on Captain Lee continuing to turn a complete blind eye to Kate! Anything she says or does is ok by him & consequently, due to his out right favoritism ( “worship” of Kate, if you will) it totally turned me off to Captain Lee, too! What finally really did it for me was the season where Kate is outright drunk, throwing clothing on the floor right in front of Captain Lee as he totally ignores what she is doing right under his nose as he watches her throwing clothes all over as she drunkenly shouts things out to everyone sitting there incredulously watching her consistently “over the top antics!” Captain Lee gets up & goes to his cabin, without a negative word said to Kate, about her behavior, done in full view of everyone! Kate knows Captain Lee adores her, which is why she can & does take full advantage of Captain Lee’s blind devotion to her( I know Captain Lee is married & faithful to his wife of many yes. but I also suspect there is “unrequited love”, on Captain Lee’s part for Kate) for just the way he looks at her & treats her is absolutely nauseating, quite frankly!

Captain Lee has to take some responsibility. He re hired Rhylee Gerber knowing very well what she was like. Being a hard worker is no good if your attitude stinks and those around you don't want to work with you, which was clearly the case, Rhylee hadn't changed one bit since the previous season, unwilling to take orders from her superiors, Anywhere else she would've been fired..The deck crew shouldnt have had to put up with her crap

I completely disagree... watch the entire clip.. ashtray gives zero instruction (eg tie this knot 50 times)- just says they’re tying the knot... rhylee did as told and after a couple of times tying the knot asked if he wanted to see the knot... then ASHTRAY flew off the handle ... of course if you are just asking for clarification and someone aggressively comes at you, it causes a negative reaction... particularly coming from someone you already have tension with... clearly your life must be all rainbows and butterflies and you’ve never noticed or had someone out to get you

No doubt Ashton wasn't a great leader, but I don't think Rhylee's temper and combativeness should just be swept under the rug. And Kate doesn't have the whole picture - she's not part of the deck crew!
Capt. Lee and Kate are deserving of one another. She uses him and he tolerates her crap. I lost respect for him after watching her have a tantrum and throw the uniforms on the floor right in front of Capt. Lee. Not only did she not care but it was a sign of disrespect to him but also to the crew. She knows she can do what she wants and he turns a blind eye to it. So she can go around a manipulate any given situation without any recourse. So the show shouldn't allow them on the same boat at the same time but that's what Bravo likes, that's TV ratings.

I'd like to see Rhylee under good leadership. The rolling out the slide scene was very telling. They send her down to do other tasks, but expect her to know what's going on on the deck. That was another incident that made the guys fly off the handle that she doesn't listen and flips out. She was 100% in the right here, and they turned it into a big deal. I bet there were many incidents like this. I'd like to see a female as a bosun and see Rhylee work under her.

Umm...when the ENTIRE crew does not like you, it might be smart to reflect on your behavior as to the cause and not repeatedly deflect on to someone else. Especially, when that individual seems to get along with the rest of the crew (sans Rhylee.) This isn't the first season where Kate's ego and arrogance has caused issues. Let's not forget her repeated bullying of her own team members in several past seasons. Kate is very calculated and an absolute fraud.
What Capt. lee lets her get away with astounds me. If I heard her talk to my employees like that she would be fired on the spot. She needs to work with Capt. Sandy, her & her fish lips would last about a day.

Kate is the root cause of the drama and infighting on that boat. Ben was right, she just has to have an enemy. She would last about a day on my boat. I'd get a Zodiac while underway to come get her ashore.

I think Kate and the captain are sleeping together. Last season after she mercilessly bullied Natalie who was on the verge of a nervous breakdown and quit, which was just as bad as what Ashton did the so called captain and guy who doesn’t put up with crap from nobody was completely silent, I think he said she shouldn’t have done that. They’re both nasty human beings. I’m done with this show.
