- Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell tells "Face the Nation" that he's "completely recovered" and he's "back on the job" after his health came into focus this summer. The Senate GOP leader also said it is "a mistake" for his Republican counterparts in the House to separate Israel aid from Ukraine aid.

His avoidance of condemning Trump is cowardice.
@@Treelakesun I got an idea, how about they tell their base the truth? Nah, that would be too easy.
Any Republican that sits idly by and doesn’t speak TRUTH is complicit!!! Just Say’n 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇦🦅🇮🇱🦅🇺🇸
@@mile_high_topherCocaine Mitch 😮
@@Treelakesun This is very true - It's a very good point to make!! I'm glad you said it. 🙂
I am afraid that the whole arrangement (the multiple conflicts) is one of the main reasons why people find it difficult to believe anything that a politician (D or R) says. I don't think it is necessary for politicians to share their personal thoughts with their voters 100% of the time. They are allowed to keep some things to themselves, just like the rest of us. However, working politicians are rather incentivized to lie or to omit the truth (even in those times when it's necessary for them to speak up) in order to remain in office.
I'm not sure what the answer is to address this issue. I'm just pointing out that it explains why some people get burnt out with politics. They get sick of all of the smoke and mirrors.
this is expected from a turtle
It's uncanny how life-like this thing is
Almost life-like. There are moments when he almost looks like he understands what you're saying.
Oh come on we can make fun but that’s just rude
Why do these old relics continue to hang onto their positions, is the power that important? To me it shows a huge lack in rational thinking.
After watching Liz Cheney interview, McConnell's cowardice and selfishness are blaring.
Yes he has been successfully REPROGRAMMED TO COMPLY
what does that even mean??? is it a maga thing?
Just say to McConnell, "Did you acqit Trump?" and Mitch will glich out and he will need a reboot.
He reminds me of Microsoft's "Blue Screen of Death!"
The interviewer might need to download him prior to starting, otherwise he might start buffering in the middle of it.
Troll
Isn't that part of his Russian "sleeper agent" phrase?
Proof, if ever any was needed, that even when you're my age, a frisky 71, you are already far too old to be playing politics. Go fishing, go for walks, just go.
Thank you for saying this honestly.
He just needs to retire.
Agreed 100%.
Joe Biden first.
@@bobby-ov9qn Trump needs to retire in jail!
Amazing how he can talk for a 10 min interview and say absolutely nothing.
Mitch is the architect of the chaos caucus
I’d say that award belongs to Gingrich.

“You kinda stroked out Mitch.”
“I’m fine. Honest.”

*"There is no question that Donald Trump is 100 percent responsible for the Jan 6th insurrection."*
*"I will be voting for Trump if he is the nominee."*

He's a hypocrite like almost all of them. - my quote.
Moral clarity has always been a difficult proposition in global-politics. The greatest difficulty is to find a global-champion.

He's "completely recovered" from being a frail, octogenarian? Or what.
Presidents has time limits. Should be the same for senate, congress, Supreme Court. We all agree on that. Plus Mitch done enough damage to AMERICA already. VOTE BLUE STAY TRUE TO AMERICA 🇺🇸.
Whoever replaces Mitch could be worse
@@tesladrew2608 👍. It's the ones running like Trump are the one's I'm worried about.
As much as I detest this man I have to acknowledge his political prowess and traditional GOP methodology. He is clearly in decline and if this interview was the best face he could put forward, he has not got long. My greatest worry is that someone from the new GOP, who takes greater inspiration from fascist ideology than the Constitution, will step into his position soon and the House's disfunction begins to take root in the Senate.
I agree. As a Republican myself - those who are on the alt-right fringe are frankly some of my greatest concerns for our country. Just as those on the alt left tend to do - the alt right continuously tars and feathers any and all opposition when it comes to it being their way or the highway. Respectful disagreement and the ability to compromise is one of the hallmarks of a democratic and free society, and politicians who are alt right / alt left hinder that process mercilessly. Unfortunately, the alt-right often labels Republicans that believe that our country is best served when different perspectives are considered, when our legislatures are willing to put the needs of the country first instead of their parties, and are capable of cooperating with each other in finding solutions - as
RINO's (which means, republican in name only). It's very frustrating and it's what is keeping our nation so helplessly divided and utterly gridlocked.
"Completely recovered... FROM WHAT?! RECOVERED FROM WHAT?!" Way more here than this rehearsed answer.
*TERM LIMITS*
Oh..., that's wonderful Mitch, now please resign and go back to Kentucky and never set foot in D. C. again?
impose an age limit for those in office! These geezers deciding out fate is WRONG. OUT OF TOUCH!
Thank you Mitch. Tell your party to help
He says that he's recovered but he doesn't say what he's recovered from.
Shouldn't an employee be honest about his health with his employers?
Good to see he is fully recovered,,, from,,,,?
Kentucky needs to get rid of him in 2 years. This “at least he’s not a dem” mindset is literally the reason he is there. Also Kentucky has elected Dems who are socially/fiscally moderate/conservative.
No one deflects like McConnel, with his little "heh heh heh".
Ffs just retire.
He's gonna have a really bad episode very soon and when it happens, he needs to be removed from office.
his mortician does a great job
Perhaps they do have heightened security in DC. What about the rest of us, across the country?
Thank tuberville for the hold up.
That old buzzard is way past his prime!
No one should be running our government at 80.
They should be playing with grandkids.
I get it….they have experience…it’s all they know…they dedicated their lives to this blah blah blah.
Sometimes enough is enough.
Why not have like a “grandfather/grandmother” type system so that a new senator can be elected but is “shadowed” by an elder? Keep them around a year or so after they retire so they can acclimate to a life outside of government, still be able to “help” but not have the same obligations so they can care for their health. It’s almost cruel to see them still working or feeling they “have to” when it comes to one side or the other fearing what their absence would bring. Sigh. How did we get to this point folks.
I don’t allow for my grandparents to make policy changes in my house, why do we allow it in the government? This growing senior population in the government does not speak for me.
Perfect example of the Weekend At Bernie’s Senate we have
I don’t like what Mitch did with the Supreme Court, and I don’t like that he bent over backwards for Donald Trump. But to my friends on the left who are rooting for Mitch’s demise: be careful what you wish for, because whoever replaces Mitch will be worse.
thank you and to the folks on the right - wake up you all are destroying our country
Not always does the worst come out of wishes. But with today’s Republicans you're probably more right than wrong.

"...completely recovered..."
recovered from... _what?_
Belsebub tweeted, love you bro
0:40 Am I tripping or did he say "Iranian drones are being used in Ukraine...against the Isrealis"??????? What?
He didn't really address his health, he dismissed it. You can't be fully recovered when they can't find what's wrong with you...He is sweeping it under the rug and said he would rather talk about more important topics, like his health at his age, in his position isn't important to the citizens he is working for!
How is Israel our strongest ally in the world? Other than our politicians and corporate media making that statement I want to know in what ways makes Israel our strongest ally?
Their military... their intel services... their nuclear stockpile.. their technology... their history with the US... and their ancient history... to name a few.
Well simply militarily speaking Israel is by far the strongest.
Because much of America still believes in biblical values, and Israel is God’s elect. He blesses those who bless Israel.
I'm with you, they are also still working with Russia and not helping Ukraine....and we owe them why???
Excellent question! The only thing I can imagine is that it puts the US close to Iran and Iraq, 2 countries that can cause our country much trouble.
We’re the most embarrassing high class country ever
That's a VERY Scary thought. His hands are FULL alright, with BRIBES-and have been, for Years.💯
He should get out of the way, his time has come and gone!

It’s beyond obvious that all branches of government need term limits &/or upper age limits, accompanying already existing lower age/term limits.

I’m pretty sure the middle one is Blacks Law Dictionary but i’ve no idea what the other two are. There’s a message in those books directed at someone. Possibly us. They put things in our faces.
the interview didn't show that his batteries were changed for fresh ones just before the interview.

AH!! Mitch McConnell. The darling of russian state news. Olga & Rudolf send their love & praise for all your help, Mitch. LOL!!
something about this interview is incredibly awkward
politicians, it's all about the public image, the PR...he got that nailed.
He should be the one getting condemned by all real Americans for acting rogue, out of control, sick.
We still don't know what he is "recovered" from. Not saying only creates speculation and more questions. I strongly suspect his health has a timeline he doesn't want to disclose and create maneuvering in the Senate.
The fact that she didn’t say “recovered from WHAT?” Makes her such a pushover.
You mean the Americans that are stuck, with no help from you-
Yup he’s fronting he’s sick
Sen. McConnell alludes to dynamics which are reminiscent of Wilson's and FDR's 'Arsenal of Democracy'. That calculus ultimately proved advantageous to U.S. vital interests.
The ultimate result of that calculus would give any sane statesman pause.
He took to many edibles. Oops!
Love you Mitch, Time to Retire!
Hes very slow and careful with his speech
I get that the country wants someone capable of doing the job in office however that doesn't mean once you reach a certain age you no longer have rights or that he doesn't have any. He doesn't have to tell us about his medical condition.
I appreciate the knowledge, experience and wisdom Mr. McConnell has. I would refrain from the term "evil" however. Perhaps nonproductive and destructive behavior has been demonstrated that requires an appropriate response. He is alert and astute to finish his term. Let the people decide in an election.
That’s good information. How much longer is his term?
nah he's the epitome of the banality of evil
He has behaved like a fool. I remember back in the day when he said his main objective was to make PBO a one term president. I don't like MoscowMitch.
let's agree to disagree - his impact on the supreme court is pure evil - his support of trump again evil

I was at my folks house a few weeks ago & got subjected to broadcast tv for the first time in years. It was all ads for drugs. Every commercial break was drugs drugs drugs pickup trucks and then more drugs.
And then the news folks came back on and suddenly nobody wanted to talk about drugs. I want to know what drugs these politicos are on. Everybody i know over 70 is on some kind of painkiller regimen, what drugs are you on Mitch? Do they have a warning that you shouldnt operate heavy equipment?
If the drug alters your judgement so much that you shouldnt operate heavy equipment, you shouldnt be making political decisions either.
Thats not him thats his AI double
Why can’t he stand up and say what he needs to say?
Rather than quit, I would like to see Mitt Romney offer Mitch McConnell a bottle of water and pledge clear solidarity. If moral clarity is the imperative, Romney is our guy.
