The Ultimate DIY Rod Holder for Bank Fishing!

  • I recently took interest in DIY rod holders, specifically rod holders meant for bank fishing. This is the first time I've tried building one!
    Let me show you how I've built it..
    NOTE: I have used Stainless Steel & Marine Grade Hardware to prevent rust
    NOTE: This doesn't use any PVC pipe, only PVC fittings
    NOTE: This project does not require any PVC glue
    Parts/Materials needed:
    1 1/4" PVC T-connectors (x3)
    1" PVC plug (x1)
    1" PVC couplings (x2)
    1/4 by 3" toggle bolt (x1)
    5/16"-18x1" wing screws (x2) ...OR... 5/16" - 3" Eye Bolts w/ 5/16" spiked T-nut (x4)
    1/16" thickness, 3/4" by 36" aluminum square tube (x1)
    4" by 3" PVC reducer (x2)
    3" PVC cap (x2)
    8-32x3/4" stainless steel socket head cap screw(x4)
    1/3" wood screws (x4)
    1" donut washers (x2)
    Materials:
    Wood scrap or wood shims (x2)
    JB Weld "Steel Stik"
    6mm or 1/4" paracord (6')
    5/16" internal diameter Vinyl Hose (6')
    Tools:
    Needle Nose Pliers
    Drill
    Dremel (I used Roto Zip)
    Phillip's head and Flathead Screw Drivers
    Knife & Side Cutters
    tape measure
    Allen Wrenches in Metric
    Grit 36 Sand paper
    Hack saw
    Permanent marker
    Set of Drill bits
    Set of Dremel bits
    Hammer
    lighter
    (Optional) 100 Grit sand paper to remove print and barcodes from PVC parts
