We have a Kroger, Walmart, Aldi and Meijer in our town. I do my main shopping at Kroger every other week. I try and stock up on things when they are on sale at Kroger. Kroger also has great coupons that I make sure I use as well. On the weeks I don't go to Kroger I go to Aldi. I HATE going to Walmart!
Here in NJ, we have no Kroger affiliates. Our local Supermarket chains are Acme, Stop& Shop and Shoprite. ShopRite is huge here. They also have chicken breasts on sale for $1.88 - and it's on what they call "locked on savings" so that price lasts for a month instead of just a week.
Here in western Michigan we have Harding’s. It’s expensive but their deals can be awesome. They too carry all the things I can never find at Walmart! Great video Jen! 💜
We are up in Canada and have Safeway, Sobey's, No Frills, Superstore, Save-On, Family Foods and Co-Op! It's fun seeing all of the different food store names. Thanks for another great video Jen!
We have Publix and Winn Dixie. Of course, there's Aldi, Walmart, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, too. Oh, and Sprouts. But I love Publix, too. It's one of those employee owned stores so they take pride in their stores. As a rule...
This is exactly how I manage to afford food 😂. I’m a fan of the limits on sales. It allows me to get pretty much everything I need no matter the day of the week.
Love seeing a HyVee haul!! I'm originally an Iowa girl, now living in Wisconsin and we finally just got a HyVee near us so I've been scoring so much lately on the deals. I never see people do hauls on youtube about it, but they honestly run amazing deals all the time! Hearing a CZcamsr talk about AE dairy and Casey's was nice ☺️☺️
That was an amazing haul! My local store is Stop and Shop or Wegmans, I live in NYC so finding a quality low cost store is a bit of a challenge. These are two of my favorites because they have excellent sales on meat and produce every week.
"Trash palette" 😂😂😂😂 I never heard that before, I love it! I miss Hy-Vee. I lived in Waterloo, Iowa for nine years. We do have a grocery store called Schuncks here in St Louis. Those deals are amazing, thanks for sharing ❤
I am in Canada and in a rural area, so shopping deals is very difficult. We have Walmart, No Frills and CoOp. I do shop Walmart mostly but nowhere near your savings. However taking into consideration the exchange on the dollar. Love your videos ❤️🛒
I hit the hy-vee sale this weekend here in MN as well. I got 85 cents fuel saver and a couple of ibotta rebates. I have noticed at our hy-vee that it's cheaper for some items if you go in and shop vs. pick up. So I do that when I can 😊
Hey Jen. I just got in on these great sales at HyVee two days ago in Ankeny. Make multiple trips or take hubby and get 12 cans of green beans instead of 6! I went back a lot and stocked up. Also definitely ask for rain checks on all sale items they’re out of. I’ve done that many times and saves you bunches. I also preview and shop a quick pick up order each week to get the fuel saver deals and membership deals. Saves you tons. My best fuel saver was $1.79 off a gallon. Last week I got .72/gal off and this week .35/gal so far… when you drive a pickup and SUV totally worth it. Also by the way, fuel savers are limited to only using $20 per fill off their fuel saver just fyi. My family members work for HyVee
Schnucks is ours. They're local to the STL area. They usually have decent sales but their points system is bomb when it comes to saving money on your purchase. And they get a lot of local stuff so that's always a cool thing.
So I'm in South FL. Publix is expensive for everyday groceries even with most sales. We have like 1 Winn Dixie left around here which can have good sales sometimes. We also have a lot of Spanish grocery stores that usually have the best deals on some meats and rice and produce. I think it's all about getting select items at certain stores can be time consuming but saves money
Iowa girl here too!! So of course we have Fareway, Aldi, and Hyvee but I'm a Sams/Walmart shopper over anything else. But after this I may have to pay more attention to the penny saver every week.
HEB is my go to store here in Texas. Their store brands are cheaper and we like them better except for those Kraft items. Thanks for sharing Jen. Awesome deal on the gas!
@@pattiupton1499 I like the Bolner's Fiesta seasonings they carry. The company has a store in San Antonio that blends the seasonings and sells in store and on line. I am all in on the San Antonio coffee as well.
For years, my son has really enjoyed Aldi’s version of Mac n’ cheese and it was 33 cents a box compared to kraft, which was over a $1 a box. We have been getting him the Annie’s lately, buying them at Costco. This week they are 8 for $8 at ShopRite, when you use the card. I have been getting him the Parmesan flavor and the 4 Cheese. I will buy as many offers as I can this week. I also shop their managers specials on meats. Great deals. Plus this week ribs are 1,99 lb for a whole rack.
It's so funny with mac n cheese, as someone who grew up on generic bc poverty (IGA brand specifically, hilariously if any Midwesterners remember IGA stores), you can absolutely taste how sweet modern Kraft Mac and Cheese is. It's downright sugary to my palate 😆 The absolute fave plain blue box + powder style mac n cheese in my family at this moment is the Great Value Three Cheese w/ Small Shells. I buy a dozen at a time when I get Walmart Pickup bc I only go like twice a year (I'm an Aldi gal apart from their mac n cheese, blech!). It has cheddar, monterrey jack, and blue cheese and you can truly taste a difference in the flavor, it's more complex. Highly recommend if you ever wanna mix it up!
Jen, great haul for such a good price. Our local stores, in eastern upstate NY, are Price Chopper, Hannaford and ShopRite. Price Chopper usually has the lowest prices, but we don’t like their met, so I get that at Hannaford. My husband isn’t fussy, but he only likes Purdue chicken, which I can only get at Walmart, so I make a monthly trip to stock up. Shopping is definitely not easy these days😀
Shopping sales at different stores is the way to go. I never understood why exclusively shopping at Walmart is so popular because it’s not always the cheapest.
We have Ingles and Walmart - that’s it. We do have Publix in towns 20-30 minutes away; even if I was in those towns regularly, though, it would be hard for me to pay Publix prices. I DO enjoy shopping there!
I live in the same state and also shop Hy-Vee. They are ridiculously expensive BUT the sales and coupons are really really good. So I shop at Aldi first, then go to Hy-Vee down the same street and get whatever else I need I couldn't get at Aldi and the sale/coupon items.
I live in Galesburg, Illinois and we have two Hyvee’s, a Walmart and an Aldi. I usually shop at Hyvee and ALDIs. I also have a Sam’s Club membership, but I have to travel to the Quad Cities to shop.
I've actually been shopping this way for years. First thing I do every Wednesday morning is check my two local/regional stores for sales. I shop those sales and stock way up on things that are super deals. Those deals are always cheaper than Walmart regular prices. Our local/regional stores here in East Tennessee are Food City and Ingles. These two are having some of the same sales this week your store is having, $1.99 chicken breast and $1.88 cheese, and the Kinders BOGO sauce to name a couple.
I mainly shop at Meijer and Pick n Save which is our Kroger affiliate. They have the best clearance and coupon deals. I also have a Piggly Wiggly down the street but only shop sale items there. Aldi, Festival, Wal-Mart are within a 15 min drive.
I LOVE the Wendy's canned chili. It's exactly like the chili at Wendy's. . One can is 2 cups, the same as the large cup at Wendys, for 7 points. The carbs for one cup is 22 and for two cups is 44...same as at Wendy's. I always keep some in my cupboard; sames me a trip to Wendy's. I have found it at HyVee, Fareway and Walmart stores in Des Moines.
Wow you got so many good deals. I just went to my local Albertsons on my way home because I could not believe they have pork loin roast for 97 cents a pound. And so so many other things to stalk up on.
This is what I’ve done on my prepper pantry channel my other channel I’ve been showing the Hy-Vee sales that I have been getting all month long! Started out with $.49 chicken leg quarters I had 40 pounds turned around, went back and bought 20 pounds more and ended up with 60 pounds of chicken for under $40 then the $.99 sale hit in a third and fourth week and I grabbed what I needed from that as well. Not to mention in the second week I had gotten 28 jars of spaghetti sauce at $.98 per jar. Hy-Vee is a great grocery store for sales. Other than that I wouldn’t shop there. It’s a little too expensive for my liking but I have one 2 1/2 miles out my back door. 0:46
I just picked up everything on their 99 cent sale. I thought for sure yours would be picked over. I picked up the 3 for 99 cent mac and cheese. I went on Friday early afternoon and everything was really picked over.
We have a Shaw's, a Market Basket and a Hannaford as local grocery stores in my area. MB is the cheapest on reg prices, but we shop Shaw's every week for the deals first. We don't go to Hannaford often bc they are so high priced usually even with sales.
I got soooo many great deals at Hy-Vee this last week! They had a 99 cents sale over the weekend. Eggs, tortilla chips, cottage cheese, so many things.. and 65 cents candy bars? Sold to neighbors for $1 hahaha still a savings for them, our vending machine is $1.75! Got that chicken for sure! loaded up the freezer! I don't drive.. have 35 cents in my fuel savers balance lol
We have Publix Walmart Aldi and Winn Dixie. I live in Florida so Publix is the best but they also are the priciest. We also have a few others like Trader Joe’s Whole Foods and Sprouts and they are high end and not that close to me. Lots of choices. Also hubby worked at Publix for 30 years and I did for 20 so thanks for loving it and shopping there ! Our employee owned stock is very helpful in our retirement!
Great video Jen! Our local Mariano's has better deals than Aldi and Walmart at times - I stock up! Love glasses #1 and #2 on you! Those are great deals!!! Velveeta here outside Chicago is over $10. That's a great employee.....WOW!
I only have one in my town, and they're stupid expensive. Next town over has Safeway(Albertsons) and 25-35 mins away is grocery outlet, WinCo, Fred Meyer and Walmart. Living in a small town sucks sometimes lol
I have a Kroger's and HEB here. I use Kroger's the most. I went and got a few things today. Before my Kroger card and digital coupons it was about 125.00 but after it was about 65.00.
Here in northern have Raleys or Bel Air. It is definitely more expensive...unless you follow the sale cycles. So every 3 months or so...boneless chicken is 1.99...buy a bunch or peanut butter is .99 ea...stock up. I rarely pay full price for staples. I am in S. Florida Publix is the main grocery store there is like 5 of them with in a 5 mile radius but we also have whole foods, trader joes, sprouts, and Alidi which are also very popular too but there all expensive (except for Alidi) even with sales.
My husband is a hyvee employee so i always shop the sales. Just fyi, the mac and cheese for 3.88 had an ibotta rebate fot .70. So it made it 3.18 for 5 boxes. Great video. S
I’m in Florida 😉 so we have Publix and we also have aldi but not as close as Publix’s are all around me. We used to have a Winn Dixie also but it changed .
I live in Cincinnati the birthplace of Kroger so I shop at Kroger alot but we also have Meijer which I really love. I don't buy groceries at Walmart that much. Love your videos ❤

Great Haul. I think that sometimes the major stores count on you not checking the smaller stores flyer and price some items higher. ❤❤❤
So true!
They do have higher prices on some things for sure. But I don't usually buy those things, just the sales. We can beat them at their own game. Lol
