Rest In Peace: Gary Thain, bassist (May 15, 1948 - December 8, 1975) David Byron, singer (January 29, 1947 - February 28, 1985) Lee Kerslake, drummer (April 16, 1947 - September 19, 2020) Ken Hensley, organ (August 24, 1945 - November 4, 2020) Mick Box (guitarist) is the only one left around in this performance.
Sad we lost Gary Thain to a drug overdose in 1976 😢 I can’t imagine and then One of the all time greatest rock singers David Byron left us in 1985! Uriah Heep is very talented and underrated! Great music of the 70’s!
Lol, my dad was the same age that year. He was bored at a high school football game, so him and his friends wandered down the street and Uriah Heep was playing at some local venue. He said he stood next to the speakers for the entire concert and was blown away. I've listened to them since I was a little kid. Love this band.

Uriah Heep arrived in Atlanta sometime early 70's, had a show that night. But the keyboard player was "out of it". The Twins, two guys who organized usher services at the Municipal Auditoreum were contacted. The tewins had a doctor: they took the keyboard player, Hensley? to the doctor who brought him back. And he was good to go for the show: "Comfortably Numb" in real life.
Wrong ! Uriah Heep member Ken Hensley, who wrote this and most of the band's biggest songs, talked to Songfacts about the inspiration for this one. "After a few long days in the studio, some of us were sharing a taxi home, and the conversation drifted to the fact that most people see our lives as easy. That we just show up at a venue, play, collect a million dollars and go home!" The words "life" and "easy" stuck in Hensley's mind, and that night when he got back to his flat, he wrote "Easy Livin" in "about 15 minutes."
But one of the influences on Uriah Heep (and Deep Purple) was Vanilla Fudge so check out that band if you don't know them: I am a fan of all three bands
Communication Breakdown, Highway Star and Neon Nights come short to this song; this is a true fast one. I LOVE IT! I can’t believe it was on DISCO 72. This genre started wild. Wow!
The power harmonies here remind me of what Three Dog Night might have been able to do with this song, if they had been the vocalists. I hope that comes across as a compliment. Because, that's how I meant it. In high school, a school mate named Gary M really loved this song. One of his good friends liked to goad him a little. So, he wrote "Urea Heap" in large letters on the backboard. Gary got up, looked at his friend with irritation, and fixed the words. Mr B, our algebra teacher, erased the whole thing when he walked into the room. It went right past him. I might not have remembered the song or the name of the band if it hadn't happened. Memory is funny like that. Cool song.
I'm so glad I grew up listening to music from the 70's. ☮️❤️🎶🇺🇲
God my childhood was awesome growing up with this unique music.
2023 September and still kicks ass..
Faster than Neon Knights, Rock and Roll and Highway Star.

The current lineup can't be called uriah heep. It's a cover band now
You’re lucky my friend 🤘

9/14/2023 I'll be 63 the 18th, and here I am still rockin it.
Back then, people were acually dancing to rock music 🎶
I noticed that. That's not the kind of music you dance to! 😂
Still one of my favorites - now 52 years since it came out 👍🏼❤️
A power of actual music is timeless. Todays music is so disturbingly forgetable and generic.
I bought a brand new convertible C8 Corvette and this is my driving song. Love it!
Imagine going to a disco back then with your gal and Uriah Heep comes out to play this... My god that had to be epic 😃
Imagine it? I did it and it was great! Awesome time for music.
I'm 68 years old now and I wish I could turn back time, the girls in very short skirts and the feeling that your invincible.....
This is not disco. It's rock & roll !!!!
I lived that! LOL many moons ago
@@ssmouse77 No one implied it was disco, disco's (discothèque's) have been around since the late 50's
Wow, memories. driving around in my 65 falcon with Uriah Heep playing on the ol 8 track.
One of my first album purchases. What a great era of music.
Immortal masterpieces of all time!

The drummer was ahead of its time; no question about it.
keyboard, drums, bass and vocals were all fantastic
Bas no?
Its hard to listen to anything else after this fast paced classic
I was 16 in 1972,still remember how good this song was.
so was I, Larry. What do you listen now, age 67?
Lol, my dad was the same age that year. He was bored at a high school football game, so him and his friends wandered down the street and Uriah Heep was playing at some local venue. He said he stood next to the speakers for the entire concert and was blown away.
I've listened to them since I was a little kid. Love this band.
I was 18 that year. Loved the energy of this song.
Oh my goodness. This brings back memories.
An absolutely perfect song!
Loved this song when it came out, if possible, love it more now. Why can't today's "musicians" play this awesome music? Where did it all go?
I will never forget the concert in Eugene Oregon I was up front and shook hand with the lead singer
Amazing bassist from other planet!! Long live Uriah Heep...
More than 50 years ago.... And sounds like was sung yesterday. Epic. Timeless.
❤❤❤
This rocks still today🎸🎸🎤🎤

You can still smell the weed even now..
They all looked Fried, Mexican Ditch Weed ruled in 72.
Great memories. Now, everything sucks.
SO true! It just seems that almost everything is in a state of entropy, or decline!
A juventude setentista tremenda curtição ✌🏻😎🎤🎸🔊💋😮
What a kick ass song!
How was this band not huge! I mean seriously their 1972 album Demon's and Wizards (the album that this song came from) and it just blew me away.
Their debut album was 'Very 'eavy very 'umble' From 1970
This/Sab/Zeppelin all headbanging stuff back in the 70s, it's a wonder I'm still compos mentis! 😁
David is one of the best Singer ever
Real rock n roll- not this "stuff" we have in 2022.
Love this band, this song, this drummer 😍 so much!!!
Easy to overlook is what an effin' great background vocalist Lee Kerslake was...
It's my student's time. It's impossible to forget... Love the U.H.! 🤘💓
