Lovely vlog. I retired 3 years ago and realized I needed some sort of routine. The first year was joyous and then when the pandemic hit...well, we all know what happened. So I had to regroup and create projects that kept me indoors (I did continue to run in the park). With a sense of normalcy in the air, I am happen that I disciplined myself and kept busy; it's still serving me. Be well, Benita and thank you.

My thoughtful sister sent me a link to this post to help inspire and lift me up after a particularly trying week. A few hours later I had worked my way through nearly all of your videos! Just letting you know you have a kindred spirit with many common traits 5500 miles away in California. We are close in age, of Swedish heritage (though me only 25%), formerly married for nearly the same interval, have single sons (just 1 year apart in age), love simplicity, routine and order, are introverted and unsentimental, go to our happy place when organizing, could eat the same meal every day, prefer not to cook, adore cats, the list goes on and on! I have struggled all of my life to feel comfortable in my own skin, and I am just now coming in to my own so to speak; better late than never I guess. It is comforting to know that there are kind people such as yourself living in all parts of the world. I am grateful to know you are out there, living your best life, and sharing it with folks like me who are doing the same but still wobbling a bit. You dropped into my life when I needed it most. Thank you so very much.

When I worked outisde my home I used to hide my work bag in the closet over the weekend. That helped with the weekend feeling too!

I’m in the fortunate position of no longer needing to work and I absolutely LOVE my lifestyle now. Being able to do what you want/need to do when you want to do it is so liberating and I no longer feel constantly exhausted. You’re not quite at that stage yet but I’m sure you’ll soon reap the rewards of not having to run to catch up with yourself 😊. Having the weekends off is at least part of the way there for now. 💛💐
A most enjoyable video. Thanks. I have been retired for 20+ years but find that a routine is helpful..... wash the towels every Thursday, change and wash the bedding each Friday etc. Some think it is crazy but it works for me.
Routine and consistency is key! We feel the same way in our home.
I love the act of getting fresh flowers on Friday for the weekend. I’m going to adopt your Friday routines for cleaning & errands. Even though I am retired from a 9 - 5 job & work for myself, I am still doing cleaning, laundry, etc. on the weekends out of habit. Thank you for another great video! Hi Benita, have you considered doing a “work with me” video? I love the calming sound of your voice and music choices, and often have repeats of your videos on in the background while I work. I work alone from home and like the background noise. It would be cool to have a long video of you working with keyboard sounds and music choice, Kitty cameos etc. Love your work. Very important to give yourself a routine when working from home, all too easily could slip into lazy mode!
Due to health issues my daily routine has changed somewhat. Its all about adaptiveness, flexibility, awareness of one's abilities to carry out what is necessary to take on our challenges in life.
I have to say in all the time i have been commenting ...i keep omitting to say how lovely, sweet and well behaved your two kitties are. 😻😻

My challenge with working from home is slipping into "working all the time" mode. I moved my desk out of the living area and into the second bedroom so I could have more separation between living and working. (I am a writer and editor.) I am still working on finding clarity in this.

I love the part in this video where you kiss Mini and clean around your kitty so as not to disturb! I once slept on about 10 inches of mattress on the side of my bed so I didn't have to disturb my kitty Jack as he snuggled up against me on the other side!

I so love the back-to-back shots of the various types of ground you’re walking on. It’s pretty special that beauty can be found in everyday things like the ground we walk on and yet most of us fail to take notice of such things.
How absolutely wonderful you get to arrange your schedule as you see fit. I often think to myself: we’re supposedly free, but are we really free when our next move has to revolve around lunch breaks? Are we really free if we must be somewhere at a certain time and day…cubicle/8-5/M-F? I’m glad you’ve been able to successfully break away from that. I don’t think a happy and healthy life was meant to be lived under such rigidity. I’m enthusiastically applauding you and hoping to create such a life of peace and freedom for myself one day - with just the right amount of discipline, and this amount is different for everyone, of course.
