So I get sugar from whole fruits and if I want a cookie, piece of cake etc I have it then go back to my low carb diet. I’ve lost 65lbs and kept it off by eating low carb with some allowances so I don’t feel like I’m missing out.

Continued IF, but I couldn't stop thinking about food. Now back to the normal low card/no sugar routine and, for example, yesterday I lasted from 8pm Fri to 6pm Sat, no snacks, and IF 18:6 is a breeze again. I have gotten rid of ~30lbs since Feb '20 and about 25lbs to go. And from a XL T-shirt to a Medium.

In the morning rinse the almonds and put them in the blender (or in the refrigerator for later). Fill the blender with water to the 4 c mark or slightly more. Blend on high speed for about a minute. Pour over a clean knee high nylon stocking (can purchase on amazon) to strain. Gently squeeze the pulp until all liquid is out. Rinse and reuse the stocking. pour the milk into 8 oz mason or ball canning jars with the metal rings and metal lids that have a rubber seal. NOT the new plastic lids they are selling. Fill the jars as full as possible to keep excess oxygen out. Screw the lid tightly and put in the refrigerator. They will keep for up to 3 days. You don't want to pour it into a 1 qt. jar if you will not use the full qt when you open it. It won't keep long if you leave it exposed to oxygen. It's now a raw and fresh product, not inferior pasturized milk devoid of living life force. Great for Chia seed pudding too. I adding this edit on 2/12/21. Purchase almonds direct from the grower in CA. and you will be able to get truly unpasturized almonds. You can tell if they've been pasturized because the skins fall off when you soak them. Remember in 2009 the gov. passed a law saying they had to be pasturized or gassed for salmonella reasons. Even though they say raw on them or organic at the health food store only the growers are allowed to sell truly raw and organic non pasturized almonds now. I find these growers by googling for them.

      Just got to stop eating sugar. I know its hard and it has been for me the key is to choose better alternatives while trying to cut it all out for good or keeing it really minimal. Maple syrup, honey, stevia, cane sugar are great alternatives. Everything I make has been altered for less sugar or none if it really does bot need it like stir frys etc. It is still good to me but now there has been progress for me I do not like things too sweet now because I always lower my sugar intake. With that said I hope this helps you in some way. Also for me I fast at night I stop eating at 6 or 7pm and will not start eating until 11am or so that has really helped me control cravings and reverse a lot of the damage my body has had threw the years. Good luck :)

    • @kbaz6658

      @@kaylagarcia8118 Maple syrup, honey and cane sugar are all high glycemic sugars..not alternatives. Cane sugar is another name for sugar made from sugar cane. You can't make a claim that using these is "sugar free".

    • @kaylagarcia8118
      @kaylagarcia8118 Před 3 lety +2

      @@kbaz6658 They are all natural and great alternatives for you while you are trying to cut out sugar all together. Cane sugar is a pure form of sugar. The sugar we have today was once cane sugar but has been progress then bleached and all of the minerals are taken out of the cane sugar. Cane sugar is still a sugar but it is 100% better for you in its natural form. You also need way less while baking because of this and it is the same price as table sugar except it has all of the minerals while it has not been processed. Honey is basically bee spit and has so many health benefits I would encourage you to do some research. Maple syrup is also a natural source and it comes from trees. Things like stevia are highly processed and have to be found in a pure form for you to be doing more good than harm. All the fake sugars we have today cause cancer and other health problems thay completely go against what most people are trying to accomplish in the first place which would be to cut out sugar and be healthy. The fact is eating sugar is bad for us and ideally most people are not able to completely get away from it because it is in almost everything. It is the most addictive thing we put into our body far more than any drug. With that said these are the best alternatives because they are natural and reconized by the body therefore the body knows what to do with this sugar and can process it while being able to absorb the good minerals in the sugar. It is the same story with salt the only salt I use when I bake or cook is Himalayan salt because it has over 75 vitamens and minerals in the salt it is pure as to table salt and sea salt that has been progressed. Sea salt can be okay it is better than table salt however it is not the best. The fact is sugar and salt are in everything and I have actually come to a point where I no longer crave sugar anymore but it is nice to have these 3 sugar substitutes when I need them to turn to for things like pancakes with syrup or maybe making a cake for a birthday. If you catch my drift you will understand that sugar is bad but filling your body with something is can reconize with more health benefits instead of poison is in my opinion a far better option and to be honest braking my addiction and how I got here was basically using this strategy because take a diet for example restricting yourself will never last so you need something sustainable to get you to what you are ultimately trying to accomplish. Anyway I really hope this helps others out there it is really effective in my openion however the choice is ultimately yours what you decide to subtitle with just make sure you do a lot of research on it.

    I'm 84, stand 6 feet 4 inches and weigh 164 pounds. I haven't been to an M.D. in over 50 years. Two of the greatest joys in life are sex, and food. Many of what I call the Purists in healthy living seem to be those humans who are almost masochistic in their approach to sensation in our human existence. Moderation in all the things we are surrounded by is how I've always lived my life. There are obvious sensations we should of course completely avoid. When I was a young man, I smoked cigarettes and drank--mostly beer. I gave both of those enjoyable, but obviously unhealthy things up, 55 years ago. I never used any drugs. I've never given up sexual enjoyment, and still enjoy what little I can get at my old age. Sugar is a wonderful sensation, but is so harmful to our bodies that I give it up all the time.... I go for weeks eating a totally healthy diet and then get weak and indulge. I'm a happy old man without regrets or animosity toward any living thing. Unless there really is reincarnation, we pass through this life only once. Try to be kind to all other living things and take the time to enjoy the beautiful sensations in life in moderation....

    Tips: Be specially aware of Almond flour as it can really jump up in carbs if you buy the wrong brand. Also it is possible to find like Peanut butter with very little carbs if you search for it. Alternatives like Almond butter & lupin flour can also be really low carb (but more expensive or like lupin have a really strong taste). Also even thou making you own "sweets" yourself like icescream it is still possible to get some low carb items like whipped cream on a can & pre-cooked bacon too.

    Here's how I know this is true. Ive been insulin resistant and now a type 2 diabetic for over 25 years! Before I knew what diabetes meant. After 2 yrs keto/carnivore and hashimoto's thyroiditis, i can only lose weight by eliminating All carbs from my diet and then I still plateau for months on end. Sometimes my plateau extends for 6 months. I am a sugar addict. Any sugar or sugar substitute is si delicious, I want more. I finally stopped all sugar substitutes and diet Pepsi from my daily diet. Is it hard? YES. I am determined to reverse, or put type 2 into remission. For me, it means, a strict diet and hopefully no meds and no detrimental health issues. Ive already had 3 joint replacements and may need a 4th. I suspect my addict to sugar has significantly impacted inflammation and attacked my joints. Once I get to goal, I may be able to lossen my regimen a bit but not much. Im fighting for a healthy 20 + years. Thanks for this vlog. I only wish I had this knowledge 30 years ago.(after 25 months, lost 55 lbs pounds, have 10 more to go.)

      Wow! So darn proud of your success👍 only a short way to go. Its helpful to hear people's issues as there are others like me who think what I am dealing with... no one else is. So glad you shared. My mom is diabetic & in addition to meds she has to take insulin twice a day. I am heading straight for that... i know what it looks like & I will do whatever it takes to not even get on the meds bandwagon... so trying to loose the 70lbs I packed on over the last few years... keeping my blood sugars down... and i need to be strict as well... i do cheat at times... but if I try a keto mug cake with erythritol or anything of the sort... i feel bloated and my weight loss stalls.... my body does not like the sugar alcohols... so keep it up... very proud of you🤗🤗

      I can relate to a lot of what you're saying and I know how difficult it can be. I'm middle aged, diagnosed with Hashimoto's 10 years ago, feel sluggish and achy most of the time, a serious carb/sweets addict, and struggling to get my weight down for the first time in my life. I was able to maintain a healthy weight the first 40 years of my life, but now my set point seems to have settled at about 30 lbs over what I'd prefer to be and it's almost impossible to get it down. I now have to go to extremes and trick my body into releasing fat and losing weight. It's incredibly frustrating and daunting but I keep at it because I want to be healthy and feel better.

    I sometimes will make a charcuterie board with savory low carb snacks such as homemade cheese crackers, deviled eggs (which I find have a natural sweetness) green olives, summer sausage, smoked oysters, low carb sour cream dips etc. and we can have that as a meal almost. It’s very filling and delicious. Another way to do eggs is sous vide way like Starbucks does their egg bites. They are cooked in water. Dash makes a little egg cooker for this purpose. To me they taste very creamy and dessert like.

    After 2 months on Keto I have found that my cravings for sugar have diminished greatly. I stopped drinking coffee because I like it with sugar and don't particularly care for some of the other sweeteners very much. I had some Honey Baked ham on Thanksgiving and the honey was overwhelming to me. I never used to hardly even taste the honey. LOL. I'm not eating too many Keto snacks at all. Been doing OMAD with Keto and I'm simply not very hungry. I didn't eat yesterday until 8pm and only really ate because somebody put some fajitas in front of me before our poker game. I just ate the stuff going in the wrap, but no wraps. Delish. I may try extending a fast to 36 hours and see if I can do it.
