Megha has been through so much the last few months. I had a baby right after she did and newborn care is hard enough without also having a toddler and then a diagnosis with a Chronic pain condition too. It was really none of our business what they did with the dog but I know they made the best decision for themselves and for Julius. I'm thinking of you, Megha.

Good on you for recognizing that the doggo needed what you couldnât give him. We recently adopted our Nina- similar situation. She was dearly loved, but after a baby came, it wasnât the right fit for anyone. Nina is thrilled to be in her new farm home- we even send pics and updates to her previous family.

Iâm glad you rehomed Julius. I felt like he was always a little anxious, I used to train dogs and I predicted he might have a problem with children since he was an only âchildâ itâs sad but Iâm glad heâs doing well!
He was also, not to shade anybody, but even before the kids he seemed like an annoyance and an afterthought. I felt bad for him honestly. He was trying to get lovin and they would just tell him to move, etc. And not in a loving pet parent voice. I was hoping it was just an occasional thing but.. then they did a vid where they were âfighting overâ the cat pairing themselves with the cat and no one wanted to say they liked the dog better. I am definitely not a cat person but I do understand with 2 littles and chronic illness, cats are easier. But again, to me, the lack of patience and love seemed to start before kids. Who knows.
What matters is if heâs thriving now, and I hope he is

I had to rehome my husbands cat after we had a baby.. the cat turned into a demon, he peed everywhere ! The vet said he was marking his territory because of the baby,, he would hiss at my baby when he was sleeping in his swing. Better believe I chose my baby over that damn cat. Donât feel bad! It's better for the animal to feel loved. The same thing happened to me. I had a dog and she got very possessive when I got married. However, when our son was born she was even worse. She bit him pretty badly in the face. She loved my parents and spent the last five years of her life loved by my dad as his personal lap dog.

Is it an open adoption in any way? Would be so cool if the new owner would send an update even if just through the organization to forward to matt and mehga. I fostered dogs and the hardest part is not knowing if they were happy. If humane society had allowed us to get an update from new owners, it would have been such a better experience.

Whatâs sad is when people donât act in the best interests of their pets! I think Matt and Megha made a responsible and tough decision. People that never had kids easily pass judgement. Donât!
