I can't wait to try my hand at this one.
Thank you
Hello
this is an amazing tutorial and I followed it closely. I'm a noob to Houdini so I'm learning through tuts, I would like to see if you would be kind enough to give me a tip to extend this logo tut.
I would like to transform the grains into a viscous fluid but I have no idea where to start. I have placed a particle surface node that gives a surface that kind of does it but it has no fluid attributes that I can use, and the surface keeps jittering and bouncing.
If you could give me just the direction to take I would be really grateful.
Merci
Alain
Thank you for your kind comments. I have tried turning grains into fluid but ended up with the same result as yours. Glitching and jittering. Right now I don't have a stable workflow for grains to fluid. However if you are looking for melting effect there's a shelf tool in houdini you can try as a starter. Hope that helps
Just a question if you don't mind. Would it have been possible to use the grain sim as the collider for the fire, since it already has the necessary shape?
Yes, definitely. Could have been better I suppose. You can try it and let me know how that went. 🙂
@@resilientpicture Ah, sorry, the intention wasn't to correct you. It was just a question that popped into my mind. I'm very new to Houdini, I probably couldn't figure out how to do it on my own yet.
Thanks for the tutorial!
That's ok. No apologies necessary. This is how I learn too. 🙂 Asking questions to myself mostly. 😁 It's actually a cool idea. You maybe able to use vdb from particles and use that as a collider. Maybe it'll work. I ended up not using collider at the end of the tutorial.
these do not work with axiom 2 guys so don't buy the program like i did. wasted $100
Hi, I just double checked and ran the sim again on both part I and Part II with latest axiom version as off today which is 2.2 and they work fine. I am not sure what issues you are having. However, I would like to point out that the tutorial is merely a guide, since the updates happen frequently the methods that are depicted in this tutorial are based on the version available when I recorded this tut. The projects files are here resilientpicture.gumroad.com/l/xqWjN which I update if I find any issues, Since I did these tests, i'll upload these files soon there.
