That was actually some very impressive driving for your first time playing it!
I was really waiting for him to smash out the lights in that second run to find out that you are out of luck if you take out your lights!
That was a lot of fun. You did really well on the 2nd stage. That tree clearly leapt out at you from nowhere. Who could predict a tree in a forest even?
😅😅
Oh no...he has fallen down the sim racing rabbit hole. 😂
In 6 months time, you'll show off your entire rig with Fanatec and Moza parts. 😎👍
(Speaking from experience)
Also, DR 2.0 is GOAT!
Accurate 🎉😅
@@IWrockerneed to play dr 1 and Richard burns
@@Wabeeninc For Real Richard Burns is the best of all time!!! and when you Mod it it is even better
@@alimantado373 Ehhh, RBR has ups and downs, like all the other games
@@DropkickNation
dirt rally 2 plays best on a controller, Richard Burns Rally is worth buying a decent wheel for...
RBR is by far the best rally sim experience to date, even with its ups and downs!
I've not got this game yet but my maximum enjoyment in rally games is to pick a good car and hit the time trials hard. Playing the same track over and over for a whole session knocking fractions of a second of my time is so enjoyable. The best laughs I'd had playing with friends have been those nights where we compete on time trials. Best drunken quote from one of those nights was "lucky b star d, you were a passenger for most of that run!!!"
I own a Thrustmaster T300 RS GT. It's fairly cheap, has great force feedback, you can change the steering wheel (separate F1 wheels and such). A buddy of mine has a Fanatec DirectDrive setup....more expensive but way more torque. He only plays racing games (Asetto Corsa primarily) while I play more casual...the Thrustmaster combined with a good race seat for me is more than sufficient. Love the content !
T300 RS GT is great, I have it myself (y)
@@Dopefish1337 I agree the T300 is a good versatile wheel and reasonably priced. Great driving for the first time Ian. You will really enjoy the sensation of the FFB on a wheel. I recommend going into the Custom feature and create your own Championship , Time Trials are good to learn the game but you get a true feel for Rally when you need to manage the car through a whole Rally. Keep up the content , really enjoying watching your journey in discovering Rally.
I got it too, great for start
Same here. Love it
Just for anybody reading this that is shopping for their first wheel.... The Fanatec CSL DD Ready 2 Race bundle is a direct drive wheel with pedals that is cheaper than the Thrustmaster T300 RS GT bundle.
I played Dirt rally 2.0 and now I play WRC. I like both games, but I think the car controls better in WRC. I would love more rally game videos if I may ask. And I will recommend, any similar racing game will be better with a steering wheel. Better enjoyment, experience, everything. Thank you for this video.
I perhaps liked Dirt Rally 2.0 over earlier WRC (8, 9 I have played), but the differences were "small = all good. Co-driver notes were better in Dirt Rally 2.0, this was the main reason I prefer it?
Thats what i think about the co driver calls.
6: just send it
5: get of the throttle real quick
4: probably have to break a little
3: go slow
2: super slow
1: dont break to late
Jump: Full Throttle to get as much airtime as possible no matter what.
the difference between 3 and 4 can be alot. Sometimes 3 is almost a 2 and a 4 is allmost a 5 it feels like.
It's extremly mentally exhausting to ride even just one rally stage without making (any) mistakes - not to mention the lack of physical strain at all. Unbelievable what real rallydrivers actually have to afford every time !!! It's just fun for me to watch with how much enthusiasm you are playing the game... 😆
you need a driving wheel for sure.. the force feedback will make it so much more immersive, you will not regret it! :)
Totally agree, it will also make euro truck simulator much more interesting and fun.
Just a wheel is not going to make much of a difference. A decent rig and good pedals are a gamechanger
Oh yes, and please do NOT get a Logitech g29 or an equivalent, you can get direct drives if you just spend a couple hundred more
@@IlllIlIlIIlll G29 is plenty enough for a starting wheel. My G25 was awesome even though I'm on DD1 in a Simlabs chassis now. You're right though, the recent fanatec and moza offers are just incredible
@@IlllIlIlIIlll I agree but any wheel is better than no wheel. I'd rather use a G29 than a controller - but yeah, save a couple hundred and get a good DD wheel if you can. Heck, I just got my Moza R5 a month ago and am already looking at upgrades and when I can get better pedals, upgraded wheel.... just a couple grand more and I will be happy, I swear! 🤣
I used to love the Colin McRae rally game on PS. You really need a steering wheel to enjoy these games fully.
11:55 you got puncture, 12:40 puntcured tire gone and now you have bare rim.... overall not bad for a first run ;) you can easily be way faster if you do some practice or just repeat a stage, but most important fact is you had a lot of fun and that is most important..... btw even if its hard for you, it isnt really hardcore, dont touch RBR until you are ready for pain 🤣
it's nice to see you play without assists, it will help you learn faster
DR2.0 is a really cool yet hard game. That is pretty nice that you chose to dive into simracing. I haven't tried out EA WRC yet, but feedbacks are that this game is a lil bit more "arcadish". However it is pretty similar as it was supposed to be DR3.0 w/o the official licence (Codemasters made both). Multiplayer should be more populated but there's still a huge community of DR2.0 lovers. Multiplayer lives with the community may be an idea as well (w/e the game). $10 for DR2.0 might be amongst the best deals ever. Maybe just try to stick to asphalt stages first to get used to the car before diving in slidish conditions. Germany rally is such a banger in this game
i have 22 hours on EA WRC and it feels a tiny bit more arcadish, lacks rallycross and current ai totals 5 minutes ahead of you one event and 20 min behind you another, they need to fix that
Stellar comments and information here, Thank You so much. I’m really excited to get a Wheel/pedals setup, it will be so fun 😎🎉
Pls get anything with loadcell brake pedal
Richard Burns Rally, even though it's older, is a good rally sim from what I've seen here on YT
the best, but for the most hardcore sim nerds. I'd say Dirt Rally 2.0 is close enough, tho the tarmac physcis are a bit wonky.
the new WRC is also pretty good but feels easier weirdly enough. maybe they dialed the realism down.
Not to mention EA ruined the release by forcing it too early and we got a unfinished game...
@@shaggingsWouldn't call RBR the best. It does some things the best, but falls short in other parts. All three games have their ups and downs.
Rally sim fans version is the best. Dirt is like driving a feather, cars don't have weight at all.
I strongly recommend Richard Burn Really if you want game that will make you feel like its actual survivor challenge. Its so good but so hard it will take you like 50 tries to just finish one stage.
I'm absolutely shocked with how well you drove. It's ludicrously impressive to drive this well on dirt rally 2.0 with a controller for the first time. You're not used to pace notes, don't know the stages, don't know the cars, and are missing out on the amazing force feedback from a sim wheel that makes it a lot more realistic to go fast. And yet, you only made a few major mistakes and it's evident that you understand what driving 4wd is about. Especially the part where you exclaimed that you saved yourself with the throttle, and then credited the 4wd drivetrain -- because that definitely wouldn't have helped in rwd and you evidently know this :)
Definitely give this and the new wrc game a try when you finally get a sim rig going -- the feedback makes it so much more engaging to drive, as the car speaks to you through it.
props for driving from incar camera straight away. a bit more hours and you're in it for good and as someone said, there's going to be 10k sim rig in no time :D
Welcome to e-rally world, you did well as first timer👍
Loved it! Very well done for a firsttimer. Dirt 2 has been almost the only game I have played in recent years, but I hear the new WRC game is really good. Might get it after I upgrade my computer.
WRC 10 is great.
That was cool. I've had periods of rally addiction myself. Try dropping down a gear on the crests, you'll find it gives you more traction. But....as with anything, it's practice, practice, practice.
Also, you have to train yourself to take in what your navigator is telling you, without dwelling on it, because that information is coming thick and fast.
Your commitment to not pressing down on the dpad to recover the vehicle was admirable😂 that prompt to do it wasn't going anywhere
A wheel is a must on any driving game especially rallying the game really comes alive..you're never go back to a controller. Enjoy
Once you get a wheel, and pedals its a game changer! I been playing the new WRC and its freaking amazing!! (its basicly this game but updated and with the official license! )
That’s 100% what I wanted to see 😁, I wait for the first time with a wheel setup.
I play this game since it came out, have bought the new WRC game (also played the last WRC games) but Dirt is so much better and even the new WRC game is not what I hoped it would be.
So definitely Dirt Rally 2.0 is the king of rally games.
RBR is s solid competitor, I just can't get over how prehistoric it looks and sounds. Dirt Rally 2.0 is my favorite also.
i was really hoping the new wrc would be like dirt 3.0 but EA said noooooooooooo way! Still fun, but i like this one better
I've been dreaming for you to try Dirt Rally 2.0... Awesome. This game single handedly made me fall in love with rally. It's phenomenal, and the codriver / sound design is, in my opinion, the best in any racing game. There's nothing like sending a 2000cc Citroen C4 in Spain or Scotland in this game.
I already watched hours upon hours of your reaction videos. This is like a dream come true.
Cheers bro, as always, your content is awesome. You're genuine and interesting. Love from Europe
P.S : Maybe you could get a fanatec sponsorship or something ? Or maybe, just get an entry wheel with an entry handbrake... Like, you would LOVE IT I'm more than certain of it. If you think this is exciting, you will get ABSOLUTELY MINDBLOWN playing this with a force feedback wheel. It's the best driving game I've ever played I think
This was such a pleasure to read. Thank You for your kind words, much more to come, I look forward to playing and learning much more, and getting a nice wheel setup and feeling the difference 🎉
@@IWrocker That's just AWESOME man ^^ I went from very entry logitech wheels from full fanatec DD1, so it depends on your budget and your platform but there's a few solutions if you wanna play this game :
-Logitech G29 (PC and PS5) or Logitech G920 (PC and Xbox). It's the entry wheel. It's actually a very good one for its price, you'll ge most of the info you need out of the force feedback. It feels a bit like a toy but overall pretty solid and reliable, and it comes with a basic but ok pedal set. There is no current logitech handbrake, so on console you could use a button on the wheel for handbrake, on pc you could just add any handbrake from any brand. There's cheap usb handbrakes left and right if you don't wanna invest too much. Lots of small brands are doing quality handbrakes also.
-T300RS (PC and PS5) from Thrustmaster. It's still entry stuff, but it's better than the G29 : higher torque, smoother force feedback, overall a bit more solid. The pedals are also bit sturdier than the logitech ones, and thrustmaster does a handbrake called THSS which is aight, but expensive. Again, on pc you could use any handbrake.
-Fanatec "Ready to Race" bundle + fanatec handbrake : it's starting to get serious, the wheelbase in this bundle is a direct drive wheelbase, which is the golden standard for sim racing. Incredible precision, details, and way higher torque. It's another world of sensations compared to the previous wheels cited, and it's the entry of the "premium" wheelbases. And the good thing is, fanatec has done massive price drops across all of their products, so you could also get wheelbase+wheel+pedals+handbrake for like ... 800 something ? Which was unthinkable a few years back. This works on pc and xbox, and there's a gran turismo wheelbase for the PS5. all the accessories connect to the wheelbase and there's one usb that goes into your PC + a power cable.
I'm not gonna list better stuff because if you're entering the hobby it's plenty enough, above that and it's getting seriously expensive, for someone who wants to try. The fanatec option is already pretty incredible and you could need only that, forever. Just, take a wheelstand, or better a chassis. having to unpack and pack everything and clamp it on your desk isn't fun and you'll get tired of it. Also, pedals on the floor slide, you want something relatively sturdy. I'm rocking a GT1 EVO from simlab, but a simple wheelstand could do the trick. Next level racing does a very good wheelstand that can even support some direct drive wheelbases called the Wheel stand DD/Pro.
All that depends on your budget but that's a few recomandations, hope that wasn't too confusing.
Love brother
Crushed it man. I'm only up to the end of the first stage in the video...but you did half the stage with a puncture which is damn impressive. Well done brother.
After you crashed there was a loud wopwopwop noise of the deflated tyre, then the tyre came off the rim when you crashed again. But if you don't drive too hard you can make it to the end on a deflated tyre, but you have to slow down a fair bit for it.
That game has/had an online event world championship, where you drive against other players time. With realistic damage, multi stage, only one try per location, one location per month or so. Total damage means you missed the race :D. Best event ever! I used the Skoda, you drove, a lot. Really nice car.
buy a wheel+ pedals + shifter. then set it to about 540 decrees of rotation for rally. Last setup your brakes and throttle to throw your cars back a bit (not from your wheel but from your car setup) on gravel.
Rally games are so much fun. When you have a steering wheel, set it up. Another game to look at is maybe iracer, it's an online racing game versus other people. It is normal to be tense during the first races. Once you learn the game a bit more, you relax and get better results. can't wait to see where this journey is taking you.
17:05 - "You and the car vs. the Earth." I once had a girlfriend say, 'Getting poetic can be a sign of true love.' I knew you'd dig it, based upon your RL rally video reactions. Again, these crazy things are my "methadone" after I had to quit racing IRL (financials & health). And most of them get better with each new release of the franchise.
Let's see..what else? Not going back for timestamps, but when the co-driver says, "..middle over crest.." it means there's something you might hit (tree/bank/building) if you don't land center of the road on the other side of it. If he says right or left, he's trying to keep you on the quick line to set up for the next turn. You did pretty good for someone who's never tried it before. Not to mention jumping right in with no driver aids and a hand controller.
Depends on what is your budget for a wheel! But one thing for sure once you taste force feedback you won't go back!
I started on Logitech G29 + H shifter, very basic wheel, I would not say it's the best wheel for the price but plenty for a casual gamer. It's gear driven so it lacks a bit of smoothness and details. Not easily customisable so the small wheel might feel a bit like a toy sometimes. (I broke the internals drifting and after testing the Trusmaster T248 is better at that price range, I think because it's belt and gear driven)
My next wheel is a Trusmaster tmx leather (same base as t300), this one is belt driven so it's more smooth, same size wheel as G29/G923 but I plan to put a larger deep dish wheel on it and add the TH8S Shifter. The trusmaster catalog is quite large so I can't talk for what I haven't tested but I would not invest more in a belt driven wheel, plenty of feels for me even there is newer and better options.
And then there is Direct Drive, this means the wheel is directly on the motor shaft, no gears or belt here, just straight power and feels like no other tech. This can go as deep as your wallet can be but I would say that the Fanatec DD and Moza R5 are the best entry products into direct drive wheels, very reasonnable price for what you get.
Hope this help you!
For context, I drove a 7:16min in a Z4 gt3 around the Nurburgring on the G29. I've never been able to beat that time on any other wheel. So despite my love/hate relationship with Logitech, the wheel does not make the driver ;) I just don't feel confortable drifting or pushing on a rally with it, but other people might not feel the same way!
nothing is better than codemasters rallysimulations, drive and grip physics are another level.
I think this might be my first comment on this channel even tho ive been following for about a year now ^^ loved this installment of racing video game tested and im super hyped for the first episode with decent wheel and pedals :D sadly I cant really give advice on those but im sure the lovely people in the comments will !
Ian, i really enjoyed the video, honesly i thought youdone a good job considering this was your first and second attempt. I hope you do more rally simulator games. A big thumbs up for this.
We need more of this, group b or some classic next. Really fun video🤙🏼
Having a wheel is a game changer, you’ll have to get some more Truck Sim in with it too
Dirt Rally 2.0 it's the only motorsport game that makes me sweat hard.
I always do sessions with several 12/ 17km runs and they work as a cardio workout for me:
I end up sweaty, and with legs and arms shaking.
but.. i'm very bad behind the wheel..
A couple of check outs if you got time, last weekend was the Roger Albert Clark rally in the UK which was a whole weekend of rallying and well worth a watch on loads of you tube. Also starting Jan 5 2024 for 2 weeks is the Dakar rally which is absolutely amazing off road racing in all sorts of vehicles and some prestigious former rally drivers doing there thing there!!! Otherwise looking forward to you doing rally…
I do think it's even better and impressive when you change the view from full windscreen, without the cockpit.
Had it on 2x speed initially... that was impressive 😁
Find proper pedals when you buy a wheel (pedals make more of a difference than the wheel choice)
And then try BeamNG 👀
I definitely recommend giving the Rally GT cars a go. They're definitely a handful, but they sound GLORIOUS.
As for Dirt Rally 2 vs EA WRC, the newer game is better in almost every way, despite a few minor performance problems (and is more demanding in general). The stages are by far the biggest improvement - way more of them, and some reeeally long ones (25+ minutes to finish).
I feel like an adrenaline rush like that is probably why people drive in rally--it can super-enhance their focus, and when they make it through the run, cleanly--it, the adrenaline rush, becomes a euphoria
I'm usually a lurker mate but just wanted to say I really enjoyed this and the f1 gaming videos. The fact that you actually turn assists off is amazing, can't wait for the wheel content, keep it up!
i am a real life co driver and from my pov, your first go is not bad at all. Yes its slow but normally people crashes waay earlier.
nice to see your rally passion growing from content to real ( at least it seems to be ).
After your wheel set up, it will be different..waaay different and look up for vr dirt rally 2.0 gameplay. there are no better realistic thing in rally gaming ( driving in richard burns rally can be more realistic for people to people but overall feeling with vr )
That was fun ! You probably should get a wheel. :) The jump at Kailajarvi in Finland is the most extreme I know of in the game. I memorized some stages and it's a blast!
Loved the video. Impressive driving for your first time. In terms of wheel set-up suggestions, as a starting set-up I would suggest the Thrustmaster T300. It comes with a wheel with good feedback and three pedals while not being too expensive. A Logitech G27/29 would a a comperable set-up, however from my experience I would say that the thrustmaster wheel has a better feeling to it and the force feedback feels a bit better. Of course it's my opinion and it slightly depends on your preference. I have been using a Thrustamster T300 Alcantara Edition for a couple years and im very happy with it. The feedback is great the the immersion is just lovely ;)
Both the Logitech and Thrustmaster have some add-ons you can buy like a shifter or a handbrake if you want an even more immersive experience.
I waited to see you playing rally game!
nice job Ian! hope you have plenty of fun on the E-Racing journey, as to the money
yeah when you get the DLC packs (which I think Ulitimate gives you them all) you get the cars and a cash bonus
so the DR2 career might be a little skewed for you if you dont cheese buying and selling cars back down to near flat broke or editing save date (sketch)
Very Cool video, welcome to rally’ing , you reminded me of many years ago when I first played dirt rally 1 and have been rally’ing on me tv ever since, including being forced into upgrading my ps4 to ps5 because of the new ea Wrc rally. But saying that this 2.0 is still in my opinion the best, even though the new one is newer and more prettier. Hope you continue to enjoy Rally’ing . Ps, I’m been on auto gearbox, chase cam, and console controller all these years and still thoroughly enjoy it, people that seem to go for a wheel and pedals either get betterer or it takes ages to get better/ faster, I’ve been thinking bout a wheel for years and still haven’t taken the plunge.. It’s also down to how brave you are going flat out up and down some foreign country lanes, and being able to dust yourself off after a big off and make it to the finish line with that metal broken wheel rattle. Lol, nice one.. And no wants to be last lmao, and another ps, re watched your video and yeah very Good, new subscriber here
You have skills man. I saw your F1 video to. I am at 15:01 now and thinking "is this truelly him playing for the first time ?". How can you play like that with an Xbox controller ? I know you are a car guy but to prove it on your videos (simulators) is a nice thing to do... gratz man ! (but get yourself a real setup... way cheaper than a flying sim setup but it can be a little bit expensive but you have this... could be a secondary channel)
You just drove through part of The most legendary rally stage Ouninpohja. But you drove it to "wrong" direction. At start there is part what they are driving 30 seconds full speed and lasts after start of this stage you drove. It starts from that big jump named jump of the yellow house. I have been watching live in many of those corners. You can find many jump and crash videos from there like Markko Märtin with Ford Focus jump and Sebastian Lindholm crashes his Peugeot. Also Daniel Sordo crashed once at Ounin talo which is house you drive by.
Great driving for a first timer and it was awesome that you used the cockpit view camera!
It's been many years since I played computer games. but remember when the first game by Collin Macray was released for Microsoft in 1998. you bought a steering wheel and pedals with response, you could feel the steering wheel when you hit a rock, etc.
the Man in your ear in this game i believe, is 2003 WRC champion co driver Phil Mills (co driver to Petter Solberg)
I believe I did see that name in the game settings. Very cool 😎 🎉
That's not even bad. Rally sims take a ton of practice, I drive sims a lot and rally is my favorite. I still struggle with it from time to time. Pushing rally cars is hard man.
Small tip, when driving those 4wd weapons you wanna learn how to "throw" the car in a turn. At least throwing is the term Finns use. You kinda wanna get the car rotating before the turn, direct it with your brake and gas pedal through the corner and trust that the power of the car can pull you out. It's kinda difficult to explain, but take the practice course and start throwing it around. Hit the brake pedal to sift the cars weight on front wheels to get it to turn. You don't always have to slow down, but just move the mass of the vehicle. As a car guy you'll get the hang of it quick. The cars can actually do crazy stuff with the power and 4wd grip.
Also driving rear wheel drive cars is fun as balls and teaches you a lot about pedal control since you have to be so careful. Don't know how much fun that is on controller tho since you really do have to feather the gas pedal.
Really enjoyed this. Great to see someone trying Dirt Rally 2.0 for the first time and on a gamepad. Even this late on still a game that holds its own. One of my favourites!
You turn early in rally, if you turn when you arrive at the corner you're too late, not quite the same as tarmac track racing. PS; Finland I think is the hardest rally in the game, so hard to keep the car in the right line cause the roads are so cambered. The way I manage to get through it fastest and safest is to try and dive inside on all corners (unless you shouldn't, did that a few times and totaled my car) let the camber of the road help you push through the turns.
11:38
Yes your right In Dirt rally 2.0 Finland ,Australia and New Zealand are definately the hardest a, bad setup bad rebound and you are bucked off the track.
I dont really think the physics on the snow are that good in this game, plys the high snow banks , in real Rally you can utilize them but in this game you just stop.
IWrocker you need to check out Louise Cook Rally Driver, on sim, she looks for sponsorship to rally, but it hard to get over her in the UK, great lady.
One of the craziest, and most terrifying, sensations you can get in this game is flying through a course at full speed, hearing the rev limiter screaming while you're flying through wooded passages, mere inches of road on either side being your only lifeline between completing a rally stage or suffering terminal damage. Do so at night with zero HUD after breaking your headlights, your only guide being your co-driver's pace notes, and you get a feeling you simply can't replicate anywhere else!
After getting a wheel I can not imagine playing games like this with a controller. Its so worth it! Not only for this game but there are so many good car games. I've played this and GT7 the most
Definitely try Dirt Rally 1. It's graphics are even better than 2 (not sure how but they are) and it has Hill climb courses. It's amazing ripping up there. You can download a mod which lets you use any car on any course too. Great fun in a Peugeot 205 T16
No the graphics aren't better
They are. It's subjective but most people agree the first is the best looking
@@bunglepanda Graphics are not subjective. Have you done a survey or how do you know that?
From reading other people's posts and reading reviews. 2.0 looks brighter and more vibrant but the first game looks more realistic. They both look great though
You will get totally hooked on rally sims once learned you get the bug to go scary fast. I mean threading the needle at full attack. loved the video 👍
For the best audio I could find on youtube of the current Rally1 cars and also Rally2 Skoda launching and going through a few corners I suggest a video called "Hyacenter rally 2023" by AL Rallymedia. I went to see them irl this year in Finland. They legit sound like they are ripping the world apart :D.
That’s a great channel if you’re looking for more classic rally videos, check out VHS rallies channel it should have roughly 30K subscribers And its mostly historical rally events. Obviously, you could probably tell by the title of the channel. The channel has both short and longer videos. It’s the best of both worlds.
@@nickosmondI've watched every single group B event on the youtube man😂. This channel is very familiar. Thanks!!
Ian's a natural! Colin McWrocker.
Dirt 2.0 is exactly what i would recommend for really getting into WRC Sims. the new EA WRC is great but Focuses on a broader range of things including management, where as Dirt 2.0 is just about the races and cars. I think it's the better of the two for those just getting into Rally racing sims. Once you get decent at that I would recommend the new WRC game. Both are amazing.
This game was sooooo hard for me when i first started playing it, its the first ever rally game ive played so you could imagine how it went 😂 you actually drove like a pro compared to what i was doing at start 😂
Something that will help with the flow when driving rally is to learn to follow the notes given by the co-driver, take a little bit of time
Summer in Finland at 6.08 pm...
Should be sun high and very bright...
Greetings From Finland!

Look at that smile :) awesome... And you are very talented man. Excelent driving for first time.
Recomending Skoda Fabia from 2000s its much more fun than R5 ,-)
I just found this channel! The Fanatec CSL DD Ready 2 Race bundle is a direct drive wheel with pedals that is easily upgrade-able over time and is only $399. Their software has preset configurations for many popular pc games.

I know it’s off topic and doesn’t have anything to do with this video but I’m watching the final race of the V8 Supercars series for the season and thought fam I’d be killa if you reacted to it… Shane Van Gisbergen is off to American nascars next year.. follow this fella he will not disappoint!
Love your stuff mate keep it up 🤘🇦🇺🇦🇺
depending on your budget I'd go for a fanatec setup and getting a full frame for a seat, it's def worth it
I have a CSL DD 8nm and it's perfect for me, maybe I'll upgrade to a DD1 some day. Their shifter and handbrake is great and their clubsports pedal are amazing

Way to go bro. DiRT2.0 and WRC nu Codemasters are awesome. WRC still needs a bit of polishing driving model wise....bit the People at Codemasters Can and Will.
Since you are so into rally and f1, you should get good driving wheel and pedals set. It will make a huge difference of how you will feel the car. Also, you could give a try to Colin McRae rally game. It was the best rally simulator back some years ago. Your view about how difficult rally is will change dramatically.
Tip: Don't forget some corners can be taken faster if you counter- steer. Enjoy.
You should do daily trials. They are fun because you can compere your time against everybody's time .

the biggest thing is practicing clean driving. don't worry about anything else until it makes sense in your brain to do so. the little taps of the hand break are not what make you go fast. they may make you go a little faster when you are fast.
Budget Wheel T-300 next level up to serious level quality is the Fanatec CSL DD.....I think you are going to be amazed and will ultimately want to have the Fanatec wheel or a MOZA wheel
You’re hooked😂😂.Nice 1🫡✔️🤩
I want moooore of this, this is fire to see your reaction 🔥
logitech g29 with shifter is most budget friendly id say and is compatible with basically everything. Others might be cheaper but you wont get the stick shift and 3 pedals included, you'll get 2 pedals and paddle shoft only. G29 has both.
I'm sure I've played this in PCVR and I nearly cried. It's terrifying!
Great video, you earned a like and a sub. If you want to try a racing game that has the best "driving feel" (in my opinion and many others), give Race 07 a try. Yes, it is super old - it's also super cheap on Steam. The graphics are not up to today's standard but really they aren't bad. The audio is really good. The big draw, the driving feel when using a wheel setup. It's truly a great game. Fyi, you did great for your first time! Cheers
edit: For wheels, your budget is the primary factor. I use a very old Logitech G25 wheel/ pedals/ shifter in a home made wooden cockpit and it suits me just fine for now. I read good things about the current logitech wheel setups, they are mid range for price. My suggestion, do research and get a wheel asap, it takes racing to a whole new level. Have fun!
Very good first time WRC driving! If you get really hooked and want to invest in a wheel and pedals, try out Richard Burns Rally. It is an old game but the physics is still the best and I think that it will be for a long time. And if you do do not skip the driving school, you will need it and you will learn a lot of things there. BTW be ware, you can get addicted to this really fast :D
I think thrustmaster t300 is the best for first wheel. Its not expensive and it works like in every game. Way better than g29
So fun that you just randomly visited my neighbouring town in Finland :D
I can recommend a Moza R12 wheelbase, not too expensive and more than enough power and feel, R9 would be fine too. Combine it with a moza rallywheel, their very affordable sp pedals and you're up and running.
Not bad at all for first go. However you asked for tips so...
Be more decisive: don't tap-tap accelerator (commit and control), brakes (same).
Don't panic, anticipate: navigator helps, tells you whats coming.
Don't let go of the gas in a corner and never ever touch the brake in a corner. No no no. Those will make give understear and make you plough forward.
Brake before the turn if needed (or just use engine brake) and once commited to the angle use gas pedal only and dont let go of it adjust load as needed, but you want to take the turn on load. Makes the car turn and rotate better + more stable.
Practice... each track, each car each setup all different
And most important: enjoy :)
Moza or Fanatec direct drive wheel bases are dope. Not the cheapest option tho. And you will need a rig setup to run those propperly. They will ruin your table by the force they put out.
I have played this game a little bit, less than 40 hours, but I really like it, it is very realistic and challenging, then again my last experience with a rally game that I remember vividly was with Colin McRae rally 2 all the way back in the PS1 days so that's not really a fair comparison
You did one hell of alot better than I did when I first started playing the game!
I played Dirt Rally 2.0 and I love it, but as far as I know the best rally simulator is the Richard Burns Rally. It have about 20 years old but the community says it's the best and you can install mods for update the physics, cars and tracks
Gotta check out the Cammus C5 if you're looking for a wheel. Not even comparable to any logitech or thrustmaster alternative. It's an affordable direct drive wheel and it's amazing if ur not looking for a crazy sim setup.
Really liking this new gaming thing :)
Gotta get yourself a steering wheel and pedals!
All I hear is "keep in the middle on a jump! middle! jump! middle jump!", Finnland is harsh. 😁
Before curve must break and shift gear down and keep clutch down until outro of curbe and then hit gaspedal to floor and gear upper...
Well not so much damage as McRae had here in Finland early 90's with his Subaru 😄 Try play more cool finnish rally stages with cooool jumps🇫🇮
check out the moza r5 or fanatec 5nm starter kits. They both come with a direct drive wheel base, wheel and pedals.
Having played racing and rally games all my life, this is the most butt puckering game I've ever played.
A very good rally game!
I got it myself and have played it a lot, especially with the group B cars.
