Dont you as well get banks sending you credit cards in the US? Like credit cards you never asked for. It seems, the US is built on credit spending
Kinda makes sense in a way.
Tasma Pittock they send you credit card offers, a lot of them. You have to go online or send a letter to opt out. It’s a lot of paper trash if you don’t opt out.
Erica Hernandez so wait, you get sent a credit card you didnt ask for and you need to go to the bank and opt out?
She is spending a lot on her friends, they should stop accepting her gifts after seeing her glamour video lol, she is too nice i think
I think they are taking advantage of her
I hope she learns. Especially during these ko ko times. It's the days of reckoning.
It’s possible they don’t realize the extent of it, but my friends make exponentially more than this girl and if one of them ever spent $71 on birthday cupcakes for me I would stage an intervention for their spending
not too nice, shes trying to live the life of a middle class family when she cant afford it. She could have tried to bake her own cupcakes 20+ times and it would still be cheaper than $71. Also, making monthly installments for a gift?
Stupid attracts stupid. Im sure she has the friends that live in shitty ass apts, but are buying loui Vuitton bags lmao. I love seeing these kinds of people. Makes my heart warm knowing im on the right path. You cant compare success without seeing failure.

I used to think the same way she did. "if I only made more money" well, went from 15k/year to 30k/year and guess what? was still living paycheck to paycheck and overdrafting. Now I make 56k/year and learned how to budget, learned the difference between a need and a want. I bought a house. I have savings and paid off over 30k in debt this year (30k left to go). Once the debt is paid off I will start investing heavily into retiremenet accounts. I'm excited for the future :) Its not an income problem!
That’s what I love to say! So many people double their income and yet still have nothing left over. It’s like the psychology of most people is that if they start making more money, they frantically look for stuff to spend the extra money on. Some people see a comma in their checking account and jump to the conclusion that they need to buy something.
Where are you buying a house on 56k income
You get older and wiser ( material not important when you get older ) how much you make not important but how much you save more important 😄
Way to go! Paying off your debt is like getting a raise! It is seriously amazing how much you have when your money isn’t going out in payments and your budget and stop wasting your money. Keep up the good work!
Where are you saving your money? Is it still in fiat, if it is your screwed!
I used to think "everyone deserves to be out of debt" but as a financial advisor I learned that there are a ton of people who deserve all of their debt and are adding more

She seems very kind when it comes to her friends and partner. It's just tragic that it's going to ruin her life.
I don’t even think it’s kindness just her being insanely irresponsible. There’s being kind to your loved ones and then there’s getting on a payment plan for a gift you can’t afford. There’s also covering your boyfriends ass when he overdrafts his account. She definitely could’ve bought cheaper cupcakes and Cancun shouldn’t have even been in the picture. She can still be mind without blowing massive amounts of money nobody asked her to contribute. You can be kind without throwing money at people. I doubt her income is a secret to her friends and family so who in their right mind is gonna expect their low income friend to be living a lavish lifestyle for their sake? It’s insane
@@leilanidru7506 Sacrificing for those she loves is how she shows her appreciation. Just because it is unwise doesn't mean it isn't an act of kindness.

I assume because you are a student you are still young (probably early 20s). If this is the case a good financial education and structure could enable you to retire as a millionaire. You can be frugal but still have luxury in your life.
If you were to invest $10,000 at 10% for the next 45 years that would end up growing to $730,000. And throughout your life you will earn a lot more than $10,000.
There are people who end up millionaires by the time they are in their 40s with good finances.
There is a book called the intelligent investor that was written in the 1940s and everything that is in that book still stands true today. And it can be used for investments from $10 to 10 million.

To each there own I guess. I really want to travel and see the world, it's a big priority for me. I run a pretty tight budget the rest of the year to put money aside for traveling.
Not an apples to apple comparison to most Americans though as I'm in the uk so can fly to probably 30 something different countries for under £100gbp, cheapest I paid was £32 return to malaga in the south of Spain. Probably spend about £10-£15 a night for a hostel (in most places I go). Everything else is standard spending apart from doing it in a cheaper country for the most part than the UK. Might have a couple of cheap meals a trip(
I would go commando, cut fast foods and cupcake splurging to travel. What am I living to work or working to live? That said I could live like I am absolutely broke for a few months and pay off the debt.
Well, you aren’t a millionaire. If you were, you would probably think differently by then.
How did she buy all those things on such a small income and only has that much credit card debt? Did her parents bail her out? Unbelievable.
This is my motto for my finances "act broke to stay rich". The biggest issue people have when they get a slightly better paying job is their lifestyle goes up in equal proportion. So yeah you could be making 100k a year, but if your spending 95k a year that's no different then making 20k and spending 25k.
20¢ iced coffee in the morning tastes like freedom.
*Financial freedom*
IT'S NOT 20 CENT COFFEE!!!
#FakeNews. Please allow me to explain.
The water filter for the GE Fridge alone costs $47.50 and produces 300 gallons of water (amzn.to/2LyqVCC). This means you pay roughly $0.16 per gallon of filtered water just in filter depletion.
That Mr. Coffee maker (amzn.to/2xrwKt6) holds 12, 5oz cups of coffee, totaling 60oz for the carafe. Having 128 oz in a gallon, that would cost roughly $0.09 just in filter expenses, adding roughly 0.75 cents to each 5 oz cup.
Also note, Graham mentioned the coffee maker makes 12 cups of coffee. Not ture. A standard "cup" is 8oz, and the coffee maker defines a "cup" as 5oz. Therefore there is really only 7.5 cups of coffee, BUT, it gets worse.
The glasses that Graham posted (amzn.to/2xs89EE) hold 12.25 oz (the shorter cups, let's not even talk about the long tall ones in the beginning). Let's say he uses 0.166oz of cream (teaspoon: amzn.to/304e4fl), the ice displaces 0.5 oz and we leave 2 oz of room to the rim, that's still 9.59oz of coffee. With the $8.70 package of grounds making 5.5 pots of coffee, this would mean that it would each pot costs $1.58 and each pot would really make 6.26 cups of coffee, which means that each cup costs a hair over 25¢. This is deceptive and manipulative to fit an agenda.
Let's not stop there. The Coffee Maker ( amzn.to/2xrwKt6) also uses 900 Watts, and takes roughly 11 minutes to brew and entire pot. Average cost of electricity in LA area ia 18.6¢/ KWh according to the BLS, this means it would cost an additional 10¢ per pot, or 1.6¢ per cup. If you want to measure the electricity of your own appliances, you can use a watt meter found here: amzn.to/2xApk7b
Without even taking into consideration things like the depreciation and life expectancy of the coffee maker, the electricity needed to cool the coffee, the gas required to purchase the creamer, lets recap what we have.
Coffee Cost (Actual): 25.2¢
Filtered Water Cost (Not Even Counting County Cost): 1.44¢
Electricity Cost: 1.6¢
Other Petty Costs: 2¢

Total Actual Cost: 30.24¢

I didn’t know there was a finance side of CZcams but I’m so glad I found it
Julie Freeman there are many sides to CZcams
Welcome to Finance CZcams! 😁 Glad to have another member lol!
There’s lots of amazing CZcams channels about financial stuff. One of them is the financial diet. Lots of people are tying to figure out how to be smarter with their money.
Ⓥ BETAZZ Ⓥ thanks I’ll check it out! :)
I came from the “world star!!” Side of CZcams
.20 cent iced coffee would kill it. The premise: every serving would only cost .20 cents. If the container had 20 servings, a 3.99 price point would be perfect...but Graham already knew that ;)
I come back to this video a lot to remind myself of my current income, and how to prevent myself from spending $71 on cupcakes when I know I don’t got it like that yet 😭
She’s laughing to keep from crying!
Or she could not have something to cry about in the first place...
I'm 27 and last year I made just over $18,000 after taxes. I support a family of 4 by myself. It's not easy, but I make sacrifices. This video caused me physical pain due to the extent of the poor financial choices.
Damn dude, that's genuinely impressive. Holy shit. Your kids are gonna be the most financially literate people on the planet
@@cumpenis don't be so hard on yourself man. Take mistakes in life as a lesson, rather than a downfall, and learn from it 👍🏽
where do you live if you dont mind me asking?
Wtf, I'm 29 supporting a family of 3 and make $37 k before tax, $43k after tax (yep getting money for having children and non working spouse).
And I consider my job to be paying me a misery.
Like this guy said, your job should be finding a better job. Heck my job should be finding a better job. So many stupid jobs requiring 0 qualifications pay $50+ a year ... we need to up our game
I live in rural Oklahoma, I am a barber with one child and I am supporting my father in law and my husband. My husband became disabled at a very young age (23) due to a life changing injury.
I am in a very fortunate situation, my house is paid off and so is my car and I have no debt. To be totally fair since I am a barber I do get cash tips daily but I don't factor them into my budget since they aren't guaranteed. There have been years I brought home $55k and years I made $18k. It's variable due to the local oil industry (Oklahoma lol)
This girl expends so much on her friends... at least I hope she gets as much as she gives. If not, her friends are either bad friends or smarter than her.
Graham the only guy that makes what i make in a year in two weeks to buy 50% off bathroom cupcakes

This is tragic... no financial literacy and no long term vision. Living the Instagram life.

GENIUSSSSS
$15K is very little in NYC, she definitely does need to make more. But something she can start doing to 1) stop spending so much, especially on her friends, maybe try making home items like jewelry or food, or buy baked goods end of day 2) use “paying off debt” as a celebration gift, limit or eliminate vacations 3) start cooking at home, find cheap meals you like and are easy to make - hamburgers, hot dogs, wings, tacos (even organic versions in grocery stores are cheaper than fast food) 4) have a real talk with the BF, he has a problem too. Don’t just cover for him, he needs a financial therapist - there’s CZcams for now
I hate buying anything that I won't keep and use for a long time.
That's why the starbucks I bought last month is still on the counter. Slowly sipping away at it. Mmmmmmm tasty

How is her rent only $350 in NYC?!?! What closet is she sharing with 20 people to get that deal 🤣🤣🤣
Probably a room in the Bronx shared with another person. Most likely and illegal sublet. Definitely not Manhattan though, especially while having a car. It costs like $10 per hour to park your car there.
I was thinking the same thing... Even in the ghetto parts of Queens it's still extremely expensive. The person who said she might be living in an illegal sublet in the Bronx is probably exactly right lol
I looked up a studio in Yonkers and the low range was $2200 a month 😲. She has to have a ton of roommates!
Even if she just rented a room it’s between $1000-$1700. Yikes and I thought $975 for a 2 br, 1 1/2 bath apartment that my son and his gf rented!!!
exactly there is no way.

Insane.
how do u even spend $75 on cupcakes
It was $71, she’s frugal

If she saved $15 for 5 weeks it would be more acceptable

$71 on cupcakes? I can make them with Costco flour, canola oil, and sugar for maybe $.75? And she only works part time so she has hella free time to bake lol.
Y'all in the non-baking jobs stay ignorant. People need to make a profit. Go to the grocery store, cheap ass.
SangtotheDy um why would I go get gross grocery store cupcakes when I can have more delicious homemade ones for a dollar?
She doesn't seem like a baking kind of girl, but I get your point. Once a good friend, who is a teacher, gave me homemade cookies for my birthday. I can't remember what else I received that year, but remember those cookies.
Dawn Old Elk we always remember homemade gifts and goodies. It means a lot more to me, I know 😀
Rebecca Shields even with the most expensive ingredients for plain cupcakes, a dozen is never more than $15
So I looked up how much a single cupcake from sprinkles is. Depending on where you live, it's 4.75 for a single cupcake. A dozen of those is $52 in total add four more cupcakes it makes it to $71. She bought 16 cupcakes in total!
I always wonder why other people can afford trips and now I understand I’m just responsible
"my boyfriend needed new ones"

There is a saying "the rich are rich because they spend like they're poor and the poor are poor because they spend like they're rich"
@@Vaughanflaherty What you said is so far from the truth. Being wealthy is largely a matter of choices you make and delayed gratification over instant gratification. Inheritance? Most millionaires and billionaires are self made. They didn't inherent their millions and billions, they created it by creating value for society. Race and gender? Not at all. Anyone regardless of gender or race can become wealth if they make the right decisions. If you can provide something valuable to society people will pay you for that something.
Only like 15% of the wealthy are there because of inheritance. Rest of the 85% is self made
Jordan Meadows Facts!
@@jordanmeadows4115 First of those statistics are completely untrue. Second of all, every single self made billionaire and extremely wealthy multi to 100 millionaire who got their wealth through a business that they "created" built their wealth and business by grossly underpaying their workers and taking all the money that they legally, (and sometimes even illegally) are allowed to take.
@@jordanmeadows4115 Millionaire isn't wealthy bro. Wealth is at least 100s of millions if not billions.
A million doesn't even get you a house in SF 😂
Her issue is that she has beef with her future self
It is amazing how you nickel and dime yourself when you don’t budget- it seriously adds up! My husband and i started budgeting and paying off debt and it has been very freeing and empowering. We don’t use credit any more and I never have to worry about not having enough money and i never feel regretful about something I bought now. It really only took about a month to get used to sticking to a budget and not feeling like you need all of the superfluous things.
Spending your money to seem rich remphasizes your poverty. Being rich is a mindset.
Enclo Creations very true but people care about what they look like to impress people they will never meet. Look like you don't have money so people don't ask you for money lol

@@moriyama815 You were blessed to be able to live at home that long. Some people are not so blessed. She want saving money at home either. She had started accumulating this debt at home. She has unpaid credit card debt with her mother for whatever reason. There is a lot more to this than meets the eye. She has a large sum of money uninsured and stashed in her apartment, instead of a financial institution's interest bearing product or two. She would be wiser to put it in another bank she doesn't use as her primary in an investment product, even a low interest CD. There is a lot going on here.
