If longevity wasn't a factor then every player who had his moment would be considered one of the best if not the best. However, being able to do it consistently for a longer period separates the GOATs from the pack.

Yea you're absolutely correct. What we as a group are not understanding here is simple so let me try to make it more simplistic. The reason why R9 fans say that he was the greatest thing ever seen as far as talent relative to CR and even Messi, is because at 21 yrs old, Ronaldo Nazario9 was already scoring 40 goals. He scored 35 goals in La Liga at 21 years old which is ungodly at 21, and 5 in 6 game in Europe, so that's 40 goals at 21 vs the best defenders in world football which makes you think you are watching an Alien. Messi at 21 yrs old was scoring 10 goals in LL, and 23 goals when he was 22.
Cristiano never scored over 20 league goals until he was 23. R9 was a far better player/talent than CR, but a longer career made Cristiano ultimately the most successful player.

That's because he (Cr7) was in a competition with Messi & it drove the two of them to great stats. Nothing more to it. Ronaldo De Lima on the other hand was in no egotistic competition with anyone, he only enjoyed football & entertained everyone. Bringing the number of goals scored into the question asked is so wrong in my opinion. & for your information, Ronaldo De Lima never played with the best team in his career except with Brazil & he lifted them to heights as much as he could. He won the UEFA tournaments (Cup Winners Cup & UEFA Cup) he took part in his prime with both Barcelona & Inter. But Cristiano had the best Man United Team ever & the Best Real Madrid team of the last 40-50years, playing several matches in a year. When you understand these little details, you'll acknowledge who did what. Note: Ronaldo De Lima didn't play Champions League football in his prime because at the time, it's only league winners that represented their countries & his teams were not the best in their respective leagues. When he joined Barcelona, they won Copa del rey & Cup Winners Cup, but lost out on the league in the final weeks. When he joined Inter, he won the UEFA Cup & also lost the league to Juventus in the final weeks because of the difference in quality. Now, that's how good he was. He pulled the teams up but the team couldn't help him in return. He was a mixture of both Messi & Cristiano.

The Brazilian scored 414 goals in 616 appearances for club and country throughout his career. One of his greatest talents was the way he could glide past goalkeepers and that's shown in this ridiculous stat."

Cristiano, and Messi are the best club players, but when it comes to national teams they are simply not. Brazilian Ronaldo alone has two world cups, twp Copa America's, and one intercontinental title. Pele has three world cups, and maradona has one. I don't know why everybody forgets about those

Put Messi in Prime Spain and CR7 in Prime Brazil. They both would have 2WCs each scoring 2x R9 ever did.Mbappe is better than Messi and CR7 according to you. Oversensitivity knows no bounds it seems😂

R9 was just a beast of himself. When he was in prime, defender was just praying or even scared playing against him. He's was the best #9 ever. His speed was just a nightmare for the defender, his shooting is just on point, even he's blinfolded, he will still scored easily. He was physically strong. He's a complete striker.

U can search for R9 'unstoppable' video and compared to messi 'unstoppable' video, messi video will impressed more than anything. The point i wanna say is, the word 'unstoppable' should be used sparingly.
In the air, CR7 is unstoppable
On the ground, messi is unstoppable
The past great players cannot come close to these two.
