On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

If you aren't sure on aspect and they are within 40 miles, you can just switch to medium PRF and it should pick them up more reliably. Especially at longer ranges it's honestly not too hard to notch the APG-70 if in TWS, but as soon as med PRF becomes effective around 30-50mi the radar becomes eye of Sauron. SInce even at these ranges you'll still hold a clear advantage over Floggers. I'm loving these night fights, keep it up! Gonna have to try out the navflir myself in a fight.

I would like to see the F-15 against the Gripen, they are completely different in almost everything but both have great radars and weapons. It would be cool to see these two in a bvr combat.

BVR engagements at night are just so much more intense to me especially in vr, losing your sense of visual sight, even not being able to see contours is so scary.
Same, I already find it super easy to get disoriented in weather with VR, night engagements are terrifying
It looks like you are using a carrier style sight picture on the landings. You were steep, fast, and touched down long because of it. As big as she is the -15 needs a lot of aero brake and roll out or you'll cook the wheel brakes, making your ground crew unhappy. I suggest buying two cases of beer to help with that aspect.
A long approach, a la three miles, is a good decent on a straight in. Switching out of the NVG and using the PAPI lights will help the approach.
Any MK-80 series is 50/50 high explosives and steel casing. That was 1,000lbs of HE throwing 1,000lbs of steel shrapnel…for sure a kill.
When I hear the words "Pickle" and "Butter", I know GS is about to serve a ground pound sandwich.

Great to see a night mission for a change. would also love to see this in a Mirage F1 as theres literally no vids on youtube I can find with the F1 at night. (I'm thinking of getting the F1 instead of F15 as I prefer an aircraft with many limitations.)

Awesome channel, really like your videos and general vibe :) I would love to see you placed in more situations where there is an element of surprise to you, ie you have a general idea of a mission 'attack, defend, escort etc" but what is actually thrown against you is really not known beforehand, it would be cool to see! Keep up the good work!
DCS graphics at nights are absolutely beautiful, the military could use this for pilots to practice mock simulated dogfights! (Althought it's not reality, it can become good practice and fun!)

Hey GS, can you make some content with Bulgarian Air Force fighters - Mig29 or future F16 bl. 70? Its one of the oldest air forces in Europe and I think you never used its skins in DCS

I found if you press Auto Acq on the target it will fix the camera instead of just designating, which causes the TPOD to wobble with the movement of the plane.

For me the F15E has been the easiest jet to grease the landing just about every time.
She's got that big ol' wingspan, makes slowing down easy.

I'm loving this mix of air and ground, and I think the -15E is one of the few that could do it. Maybe the -16 or -18? Not sure of any others. Whatever the case, thanks for the amazing content! Your hard work is definitely noticed.
Idea for a future video: I don't think I've ever seen you use the Su-25 in a ground attack capacity, only ever in odd dogfight matchups. Would love to see a vid of it in ground attack mode.
The -16, -18, and -35 were either designed outright as or modified into fighter-bombers, with the intent that they could do both air-to-air and air-to-ground.
@@vicroc4 yeah, but the -15E does it so masterfully... I don't think the others could have done it anywhere near as easily as the -15E

It would be great if ED comes up with F-16 XL. It was developed for a similar role as the Strike Eagle. And I am sure it would not suck at dogfighting.

My only request for a Tomcat vs NGAD video is that Longshot flies the NGAD again because that man can really push that plane to it's limits if he absolutely has to

Hey gs, when I went through the tutorials for this plane in dcs one of them for the aa radar modes said that the hi data track was for hot bandits and med data track was for maneuvering bandits and inlv just switched between each scan, have you messed around with this at all and found use for modes other than hi data track?

Great video! I think I missed something though. I don’t see the “drop line” coming down to signal the release cue on the bomb. Also the reticle is not like in CCIP, nor is this a laser guided bomb. How dos it reach the target? Again, I missed something. Thanks.
correct, that's because it's technically not supposed to drop JDAMs yet. It's not implemented. Once they implement it you will have the drop line. I did this via some editing/scripting.

9:20 - delicate radar - yeah, it's dead. Even if no shrapnel hit it, the shock wave alone would wreck it not to mention the operators.

-T designation on radars signifies they are reinforced with titanium popsicles, can maybe, probably withstand a 2k pounder, I think...

Don't remember if you play in VR or not. But I had to go adjust a setting in the F15E special setting that changes the angle of the HUD NV. Was on the ground and looking into a hanger and the HUD image was several degrees under that hanger. First noticed it when landing the runway in the HUD was way closer than the actual runway.
Radar could definitely survive a 2000lb bomb hitting that close, if the bomb is a penetrator and wastes its energy in the dirt. Why that over a conventional munition here?

night vision + flash light not working well ;) why do you keep it on ? Beta version or lua modified file to have the GBU 31 ?
What was wrong with the flashlight? Also used LUA editing to get the JDAM on there yes.
@@GrowlingSidewinder the flashlight (and the shooting lights) are the reason why your NVG were saturated. Haven't found yet how to turn down the shooting lights on the canopy.

There is no F-35 available for that sim. All the F-35 you saw before are just simple mods that use the F-15 cockpit and avionics but with a F-35 3D model
