Waking up to reindeers coming down the mountain, bacon and eggs for breakfast and an 2 hour hike to start the day. Can you think of a better way to start the day?
I think we could say it's the best morning out overlanding that me and Erik has ever had. It's still hard to belive that I was sitting there on the back of my Land Rover Discovery 3, still in my sleeping bag, and the reindeers came to say good morning.

Epic scenery 🏔🇳🇴👌 Don’t ask me where the epic drone footage is. 😫😫
Great video Norway looks beautiful
Thank you and yeah, I definitely feel lucky that I can go out and explore in Norway. So much to see. 👍😊
Beautiful scenery/ views. Thanking you for showing us.
Thank you Raymond! 👍😊 Definitely going back there for another trip.
Not only have I been enjoying catching up on the older videos (only been a subscriber for a month or so) but I have to say that you are doing an excellent job of showcasing how beautiful Norway is (not just this video but each of them). The scenery is amazing, so many beautiful waterways, thanks for sharing your videos! Cheers from Australia :)
Hey Peter and thank you so much! 🤗 You just made my day. 👍 I do my best to capture it all and getting comments like this one is why I keep on making these videos. And so cool that you are watching from Australia, where I think all Norwegian overlanders want’s to go. 👍😊
Beautiful location, Norway is just stunning, thanks for the video, will watch more of these to keep the idea of getting there one day going.
Glad you enjoyed it! And yeah, it's worth the trips. Definitely a road I would recommend driving. :)
Great trip. Thanks for sharing. It was opportunistic to have the reindeer visiting. Good to see you both out hiking too. I won’t ask where the drone footage is. Lol. 👍🏻🙏🏽🦘
Thanks for not asking! 🤣🤣 Yeah, it was really one of the best mornings we have had out overlanding. Can't really ask for more I guess. Hope to do more hikes and find interesting location to visit on our upcoming trips. 👍🙂
Fabulous
Thank you so much. 👍😊
Nice trip! Enjoyed it!
Thank you and thanks for letting me know. 👍😊 Makes all the time spent editing worth it.
Is that moose reindeer?? Looks like pet of someone? Very friendly! Yes! Coffee is better outside!! New T-shit slogan!
It's reindeer, and they are tame so some may come as close to us as this if they are used to humans. I'm not sure there are any wild reindeers left in Norway. New T-shirt combining LRD and OiN (Overlanding in Norway) Same logo I have on the back of my old LRD sweater from two years ago. Turned out great I think. 👍🙂
Simon, as always very enjoyable and appreciate the effort it takes. Just watched for the 1st time on our new 55 inch (140 cm) TV. EPIC!
Had to remind self to go back to laptop to "Like". BTW, like the "Maple Leaf" on your sweater. A Canadian connection?
Hehe, been looking at a 55 inch my self but my wife said it’s to expensive. 😊 I wonder if I buy it as a Christmas gift to her I could get away with it. 😃 Thank you for the kind words and know that it’s much appreciated! 👍 I don’t have any direct connection to Canada sadly. ☺️ I think the sweater is a brand called Mackenzie. I really like a good woolen sweater when it gets a bit cold. ❄️🇳🇴👌
Hey Simon, Thanks a lot for your videos and all your effort you put into making them. Really inspires me to do a "overland" trip wit my LR3 next year as well. (I`m from Austria. Therefore i probably will explore the alps.)
Thanks again for the work! Looking forward to seeing more videos.
Best regards,
Constantin
Hey and thank you so much. 👍😊 So good to hear and if the videos are inspiring then hopefully I’m doing something right. 😊 LR3 in the alps sounds like a great time and I’m sure you will have an epic trip. Just check the brakes before you go. 😄 Best, Simon.
Cool with the reindeers! Sure you're not sponsored by the Norges Turistråd? ;-)
p.s. I just love the colour of your Discovery! Perfect to my eyes.
Hehe, very sure. 😊😊 The reindeers really made our day. And thank you, I love the color too. Really like how the red color pops when we are out in the mountains. And there is not to many of them so that’s a bonus. 👌
@@LandRoverDrive Especially here in Norway where black, grey and silver cars make up 99% of motors ;-)
Hi Simon. Been binge watching your videos whilst I'm unable to get out on a drive myself. I like the t-shirts you have, I really like the hoody you wore in the first part. (I think it was in the first part?)
Thank you! Yeah the hoody is nice and I plan to get some more soon. Only got about 3 to start with just to check out the quality. Not quite sure how to distribute them yet but will be for sale as merch as some point.
T-shirt for me please Simon. Mange takk
One T-Shirt 😊
Nice area.
Yeah, definitely worth a trip or two. Need to go back and get those epic drone shots because this just don’t do it justice. 🏔🇳🇴👌
@@LandRoverDrive this is random, but I really like you Primus stove. I found one on eBay and purchased it.
I am really looking forward to taking it out camping and using it. Any idea what year it's from ?
Hey, yeah the stove is great and has been working well for many years. I have had it for 5-6 years now I think and I got it from my parants who used it when I was little so it's definitely a old one. Not sure of the year, there is nothing on it to tell it. 🙂 It needs proper pressure to work well. 👍
Thats just nice...beautiful place. Did u fit your D3 with a remote FBH or does it just start when the landy starts? Curiouse about the cold and starting the landy? Maybe a video on how it effects it. But great video.
Hey, no I dont have a remote for the FBH, thinking about getting one but haven't gotten around to it yet. The Disco have started down to -28*C but not really to happy about it. I'm currently filming a bunch of startups, taking clips every morning and showing the temperture. Will do that for a while and make a compilation of it. 👍🙂
Thank for your nice videos and all your effort. I would be very happy to buy some LRD t-shirts and hoodies. Could you also send them to Austria?
Hey Christian and thank you so much. I working on the merch side of stuff but still not happy with the prints. I have used them for a while and they don't hold up to many washes. I don't want to sell something that won't last a while. Will post something when I got something ready. Will have to check the freight to Austria but sure I could send it there. :)
Have you ever tried coffee with a couple of cubes of reindeer cheese in it? Is it tru that you are limited where you can drive. but you can walk/ hike anywhere you would like in Norway?
Nope, never tried that before, not sure I would either. ☺️ And yeah, not allowed to drive off road, even tractor roads are off limit. All roads that are classified as a road is allowed to drive on as long as they are cleared regularly for snow during the winter. 😊 You can basically hike anywhere and camp anywhere, even on private land, as long as long as you camp long enough away from houses and are not an nuisance to the land owner.
T-shirt for me please Simon. Mange Takk.
Two T-shrits 😂 Double comment, youtube can do that some times. What is your preferred place to buy? Amazon, ebay or other online stores? I working on setting something up and looking into some proper shirts, that good t-shirt you can use for years and will become your favourite one. Simon 😊
@@LandRoverDrive No it was my fault, started the comment, then left the page, then went back and did it all again. No preference for buying location, whichever suits you. I am a brit, married to a Polish woman and we met at Venabu, near Ringabu, so happy memories of Norway. ATB.
@@pking6402 Yeah, I think we all have done that. Thank you for you response on sale outlet. 👍
A Brit and a Polish woman, meeting in Norway, sound like a “meet cute” 😊 Must be a success story. 👍
It is really nice at Venabu, if you continue watching my videos you will see that I almost always drive over Venabygd mountain when I go south. Such a beautiful stretch of road.
Thank you again and I wish you and the misses the best. 👍 Simon
