Our subscribers keep telling us to visit Florida's west coast so we took a little 2 day vacation
to Punta Gorda and Englewood Beach.
So let's get started and hit the road. After a 5 hour drive from our home in the Florida Keys we are hungry and make our first stop and grab lunch at Peace River Seafood.
Peace River Seafood is an Authentic crabhouse set in an old Florida Cracker house. They are known known for their fresh steamed blue crabs, shrimp, oysters, clams and stonecrabs! Their
seafood is sourced locally and delivered daily by local fishermen. In addition to its restaurant, they also have a seafood market where you can buy fresh caught fish, crabs, clams and more.
Aligator Bay Distillers is A Florida craft distillery aiming to produce quality, handcrafted Cane-to-Bottle spirits. They give free Tours every day from 11 to 3. This family run business makes delicious Florida rum with 100% FL molasses, which is locally sourced just 70 miles east of the distillery’s headquarters.
We take a short stroll down the beach from WannaB inn and end up at Lock 'N Key which is Beach front dining at its best. Great food at great prices in a casual beach atmosphere. They have Live entertainment several nights a week on our outside patio. Soak up gorgeous sunsets or come for lunch and glory in the warmth of Florida.
We get an early start to the day and meet Captain Chris at the boat ramp. Airborne Outdoors Fishing Charters is a veteran owned and operated saltwater fishing charter and hunting guide service based out of Southwest Florida. If you're looking for a custom guided trip with family and friends in and around the waters of Boca Grande and the Charlotte Harbor. Whether you want some light action fishing, heavy action fishing or looking to do some fly fishing it's all possible here.
Lighthouse Grill at Stump Pass is located on the water at well you guessed it... Stump Pass Marina, You can come by land or by sea. Take your boat and turn in at the (ICW Marker 17A) to enjoy great food and drinks in a tropical setting.
This is our last restaurant we visit on the trip. And Farlow's on the water really makes it a special night. Located on Ainger Creek and surrounded by lush tropical gardens you can't help but smile and feel smack dab in the middle of paradise. They serve Caribbean cuisine with a southern twist, fresh seafood and steaks. They have both inside and outside dining and offer full
cocktail service. All of their food is made fresh daily, and the herbs used in their delicious dishes are grown in their garden at the restaurant.
On our drive back to the Florida Keys we stop at a rest stop off i75 and saw a gator swimming. Man do I love Florida, this place is awesome. - Jak na to + styl

My home county that used to be a hidden gem. This season was absolutely crazy not so hidden any more. Even weeks after snow birds were to have gone still Punta Gorda is buzzing.
Came over here from West Palm 2006 on vacation and rented a house that weekend. We love it here, Englewood is a great town.

I love Punta Gorda and lived there from 2004 to 2014. Live in Venice now and care for my mom. Peace River Seafood is one of my fav places for seafood. The owner was a client of where I worked. So nice. I am a shrimp girl myself lol

Finally my neck of the woods!! I live in Englewood were a old fishing town! 10 min ride to Boca grande an close to Charlotte harbor plus lemon bay is some of the best fishing around! The local restaurants are awesome an lots of history here! My girl used to work at the light house bar an grill an man when she wud bring home dinner it was awesome! Those d.o.a bait busters are a def great lure for tarpon an snook! Glad to see a good review an video on our small lil town of great hospitality! We're u guys sat at farllows I cud throw a rock an hit my bosses house . I launch my lil boat behind his house an I tear up the snook in that creek! This is crazy to see this lil town on you tube! Great video guys!

the city is small and beautiful just wasn't too much to do so, I move to Hallandale Beach its beautifully city and the restaurants and places is amazing they just need a pier on the beach and the fishing would be great there.

Mahalo, just happen to run across the channel for what I think is the first time, but you guys look ring a bell. As Divers, We dream of Key Largo, and the lifestyle, (love all the Sharkey's peeps.) but live in Sarasota county. We boat off Englewood all the time, and love it, but as locals we know of, but rarely visit the places you went to. But it's time we do it - to remind ourselves that we live in paradise. Especially since covid, nevermind... well heck most places are having a banner year.Eeven without the Canadiens and Europeans. (not sending any shots across the bow there) We are thriving. The hardest thing is finding staff! I need to reach out to a few of the Capt's you mentioned for a bit more education. We rarely take, (the wife is a fish hugger) but would love to learn a trick or two to hook up more, and have some excitement. I will be catching up on you videos and hopefully learning a few things.

Spent a week with my GF in and around Key Largo just after Christmas. Its sooo cool seeing you visit the places we visited. We are from Michigan and absolutely love watching your adventures.
We have a joke in southwest Florida when we meet people from up north. We just start off with, "where is Michigan are you from?" For some reason that I don't know, everyone visiting here is from Michigan. There must be billboards all over Michigan telling people to go to Punta Gorda and Elnglewood.

Great video. I recently bought a house in Punta Gorda. Just learned a few places to try. I agree Farlow’s is an amazing place to eat. And once I’m living there, I’m gone fishing too.
Try lashleys crab house. It's the closest thing I've found here (in town) that resembles the keys views.
