- We've been working a series of attacks from Bottom Half-Guard the last 2 weeks. Of course, I couldn't forget one of my favorite "SNEAKY" moves.

sweet. i need old man lazy moves!
THE SNEAKIE ZEEKIE
i seriously watched this video, and tried the move a few hours later and got the tap. so easy to transition from stage one of the guard to this.
Johnny will get a big following, short simple vids with out the long 10 minutes introduction etc........ keep up the good work
@@JohnnyJitsu this suit me down to the ground, those long videos bore me, when its comes to chokes, locks etc, i just want the technique... i'll keep an eye out for some merch
"Come on man!" A 1:55 intro is standard operating procedure. Maybe, as a purple belt, the videos can be longer as requested by CZcams if he sits in the car before warmups and walks into class late. Also s.o.p for purple belts. #sarcasm #purplebelt
I need this, I'm light weight so when big guys start getting on top like this I need something to keep them humble. I love easy moves. Sometimes what we learn in class seems sooo over the top. Just give me the basics
I remeber one of my instructors showing me this I love these sort of moves easy to apply, catches people of guard and even if it doesn't work I can usually regain my guard because they're worried about the choke
I love this! Ezekial is my favourite move so I am adding this asap thank u.
🙏
First white belt tournament this weekend in Wisconsin dells. I have an issue with landing in guard so this may help me out a lot. Thanks for sharing.
I started adding this to my game recently. Simple, sneaky and effective.
Loved it! Gonna try. Greetings from a brazillian white belt who loves half guard.
i’ve recently been practicing ezekiel and i’ve got it from top closed guard and bottom aswell as full mount. it seems to work really well on catching lower belts out
Beautiful
Just a couple of Johns doing Jon-Jitsu.
Ok, I love that !!!
Very interesting setup 😮
🔥 go John 💪
Are you pressing on the right carotid artery? I'm going to try this to see if I can figure this out. Nice move! Glad I subscribed this morning after seeing another one of your videos!!
I don’t train in a gi much, but this is gonna be fun to try out!
Ive never done it this way would do a regular ezekiel gonna try this today
i just want that in my inventory could be very useful.
I've used the same choke, but not when on my side. I was always able to get people off of me and backup to my feet, if I was already on my side. This was mainly used when people tried to slam me, after I had them in half guard on my back. By the time they slammed me, they had already choked themselves out on my arms.
What do you think about trying from high mount with a cross face?
Nice move, would it work in no gi?
Pizza perfecto🤌🏾
I like this I am lazy when rolling I like to preserve as much energy as possible
@@JohnnyJitsu I am a few years behind you but not to far 😀
Got me! Subscribed! I like that as a lazy old person, I will use it today.
I need to start a gang of lazy old men. I'd proudly wear that badge. LOL
Old man Jitsu rules
Its very similar to the loop choke. In what case do you prefer to use this one instead of the loop choke?
It is. I choose the Ezekiel because of easier application.
This is nasty, I actually attempted to use a variation of this in No Gi after seeing this video and almost got it 🤣
Get creative with it. Happy Rolling! 🤙
🙏🏽
Looks like the move from Karate naihanchi kata.
I found it is successful against white and some blue belts. Higher level blue belts and above wait it out.
I like it! Why is it called the "Ezekiel" choke though?
Named after Ezekiel Paraguasu...Judoka.
They named it after him because he came into a BJJ school...Carlson Gracie's and was catching people with it. The funny thing is that he didn't create it. It's a move that has been taught in Judo well before BJJ was even created.
@@JohnnyJitsu oh, ok, that's interesting. The name Ezekiel always brings the Old Testament prophet to mind for me. Thanks.
I’m a 59 year old white belt….I need easy sneaky old man chokes !
I don't understand where you apply the pressure. Can he not just turn his head?
Great question. Turning his head won't help. My forearms are being squeezed together with his neck in the way. So moving his neck sideways will be extremely difficult. My bottom hand is anchored to his Lapel and my top hand is anchored to my own elbow. It's like getting your neck stuck inside a vice. This is a pain tap more than a blood Choke. Hope this helps. 🤙
Is this possible to get in no-gi?
Yes...not as successful, but yes.
seems very low %
Is there a no gi version?
Thank you!!
I can vouch for that. I had a dude use the lockdown on me and do a no gi Ezekiel, I didn’t tap immediately because I didn’t think it was a real choke. I was wrong. 😂
@@JohnnyJitsu I'd love to see them!
Old man move
looks like a loop choke
Seems like a paper cutter more than Ezekiel.
Lol. Gotta get that snapping of the fingers in. Very chiche'. Jiu-jitsu culture is silly sometimes.
People need to understand that the entire teaching method of most (brazilian) jiu-jitsu schools is all about student retention... translation?... that means big MONEY for the jiu-jitsu school owners. It is literally a pyramid scheme. The art of jiu-jitsu is absolutely legit, but the way it has been taught and the belt system is about making money.
I laughed when he snapped his fingers for that very reason. 😂 I’m sure there are some bjj academies out there money hungry and hand belts out, but this Martial art is one of the most slowest to rank in. You can be a white belt for 2 years before you even get a blue belt. If you’re at a legit place, it can take up to 10 years just to reach black belt. It should be based on skill level and not attendance.
@@MrStrongBro Just got my black belt last Monday. Just under 13 years.👍
@@JohnnyJitsu Well of course you don't rush promotions. 😄 That would mean less money over the long haul. It's all about that student retention. I'm not saying that's good or bad, but I've seen BJJ gym turn into little cults.
@@JohnnyJitsu I dont know about crossfit cults, but I do know that some smaller time bjj instructors/profs get a taste of that good money coming in, adoration from their students, and then their heads start to explode and then they start using a one way psuedo loyalty guilt trip on their students.
@@JohnnyJitsu Thank you. 🙏
Thats not an ezequiel
