Way back in 1979 when the King Kombat was published in RC Modeler magazine a buddy and me built some and powered them with OS 25 bushing engines, then later on the K&B 3.5cc. We ended up modifying the original design with a foam core wing and eventually settled on the OS 40FP as the favorite. Although I don't have my original King Kombat anymore, I've still got and fly it's offspring. Thanks for posting this video! It brought back some great memories!
Hahahaha, I told you we don't have Hershey bars in the UK, but unfortunatly I can't think of a better alternative to that, so we will have to stick with it! Weird and wonderful!? I do have a new build series lined up, which I will start posting in a couple of weeks or so, its a 1957 Ion, a futeristic flying wing by O.F.W. Fisher, a really interesting design with a few challenges! Picked this as I know how much you like wings. Thank you for your continued support
@@MarkRobinson555 Yeah. Why get American chocolate when Switzerland and Belgium are just down the road? Hey! I just had a thought... A biplane flying wing. Pretty sure I've never seen that done before. Hmm...
@@MarkRobinson555 WHAT?!! It just came to me, that's all. Maybe some combination of sweep and stagger could help? We are entering uncharted territory here. Have fun!
Hi Svenn, thanks for the comment, pleased you like it. The elevons are very sensative, so I would recomend thrown of 3-4 mm up and the same down, for the maiden, you can then adjust after that if needed. Be careful on the initial maiden as it is difficult you get the elevons in a neutral position, hence it may wany to climb or dive down, so be prepared for that, with your fingers on the sticks when you launch. Once trimmed it flies beautifully, fast responsive and no bad habits. I would suggest trying to keep the weight around 800 grams. Hope it all goes well

It's still weird.
That's right, I said it.
So, Mark. What's next on the bench?
A biplane, perhaps?

RICHARD! did you have to suggested that! Now I am thinking about it and how you could mount the engine between the wings, such a cool idea! Arrh!

So cool! I’m building one right now now, what’s your recommended throw for the elevons? I’m using Os 25.
Best regards from Svenn in Norway

Hahaha, yes, its still going strong, great flier!
Where is this field???
It certainly does fly very well. Blue sky, fluffy white clouds can't be the UK,
Hahaha, yes it was a lovely day, just last Saturday, warm, sunny and very little wind! Could do with a few more like that. Thanks for the comment 😀
