It's important to consider that property growth rates discussed don't factor in Rental Income, only UK wide capital appreciation rates. With the growth of property, plus average rental yields between 5 - 8% - most investors would have kept up with inflation fairly comfortably over those periods, especially if they held properties in desirable areas.
