Paintball Nerf Vortex Rocket Launcher

This is my current working rocket launcher. It will lob a Nerf Vortex/Aero Flyer football over 100 yards. With the permission of my local paintball field, I have used the launcher in actual paintball games, firing it at bunkers to eliminate the people hiding behind the bunker. The Bob Long Torpedo Inline regulator takes the 3000psi air in the airtank and reduces it to 100psi for the launcher. I have read the rules to many different paintball scenarios, and this launcher meets the safety requirements for most of them.

Do you leave your air tank on the whole time or do you have to turn it off every time you shoot, and how many shots per tank

I leave the air tank on the whole time. If I need to turn it off I use the (red) valve. The Bob Long regulator actually fills slowly enough that the sprinkler valve shuts off after each shot. It works out quite nicely.
I'm not sure exactly how many shots a standard air tank will give me. Probably about a dozen.

Yes. The main air chamber takes about 10 seconds to fill up, but empties in a split second.

What sprinkler valve are you using?
