Funny how the BMWs MOT expired in 2007 and the Jeep’s in 2009, and the mighty Range Rover lasted right up until 2021 at a mileage of around 208,000 miles. The Land Cruiser was either on fake plates being Jeremy’s car or it was exported to Africa as most of them were as it’s not showing up on the Reg database.
As for some of the other cars: - The really old Green Land Rover is still about, taxed until May 2024. - The Isuzu Trooper has been untaxed since June 2006, but has no COD issued. - The Daihatsu Fourtrak is currently on SORN with no MOT history, meaning it has been off the road for at least 19 years. - I couldn't make out the registration of the Hilux. - The John Deere tractor has been untaxed since May 2017.
I remember when they did the South America Special with three old off roaders, Classic RR, Toyota Land Cruiser and Jeep. The Classic Range Rover was clearly the best. Range Rover sales shot up after that program.

Had a Land Cruiser with BFG mud terrain tires. Had a Range Rover, never got to find out cause BFG didn’t make a mud terrain for it, didn’t matter cause the damn thing never ran.
I used to drive around in a two year old Range Rover for my job in about 1991, it was an F reg with the 3.5 petrol engine. Very nice and comfortable to drive long distance or round town, and surprisingly reliable although terrible fuel economy but the V8 sounded fantastic. The heater matrix sprung a leak once though, cost about 600 quid to fix I seem to remember.
Here in the U.S., we call these "Sunday Drivers". Just like most British vehicles built in the last 40 years that have been sold here, you drive a Range Rover on Sunday, and then it breaks down on Monday. It spends all week in the shop and then you pick it up on Saturday and go straight home with it. On Sunday you go out for a drive and by Monday morning it's back at the shop to repeat the maddening cycle all over again. At least with a Jeep, you can get about two weeks between breakdowns.
This is "new top gear"... old top gear was pre Richard Hamond. Not sure what we call the version after Clarkson, Hammond & May... perhaps fake top gear?

The Land Cruiser 100 has a service life of 25-30 years and 600K miles at least. The Isuzu Trooper is second best in this bunch. The rest of the cars in this video will strtuggle to 200k miles with substantial spending.

My fathers friend got one of those Range Rovers new, it lasted 2 weeks before the engine went out😂
“Old top gear” is still the 70s-90s shows in my mind. Calling the Trio days “old” doesn’t compute.

That Landy is worth a fortune today! Hope he held onto it.
Right 👍
He did. Look on CZcams for an episode of Harry’s garage where he visits Clarkson in his farm in his Land Rover. They both have the same side by side.
