The NHL's redraft was wrong in so many ways

Glad you had nuge in the top ten. Very underrated imo, very good defensively and on special teams as well as his offence being pretty good. He's adapted his game and is a lot less flashy than most 1st ovr picks, so he gets underrated a lot.

The Goggle Man I would have josi petro carlson and maybe fox. Could make a solid case for Marino but he’s got a smaller sample size. Dougie would be in my top 3 if he had been healthy, and Slavin is my dark horse
Plabby Slavin for sure deserves a Norris, defensively he is one of if not the best in the league. He doesn’t put up the points though so he’ll won’t win one because the voters only look at the points. Also I meant to have Carlson at 3 and Pietrangelo at 2, must have slipped past me.
Very happy with Scheifeles game, and that contract he is on is crazy good. Future Captain.

Binnington is too high imo he should be around 15, he’s only played one season and yeah he won a cup but we said that about matt Murray and look at him now, if he proves he’s still elite over the next 5 or so years then sure he can stay up there but goalies are voodoo so I think 11 is still a bit premature. Definitely more reasonable than the NHL having him at 5 lmao
Ik I’m late but I’d have to say the opposite(Blues bias tho), he came in as a rookie, took a team that was in last place into the playoffs and won the cup for them. No other goalie has done this.
Alpha Mobster you have to look at their entire careers, also he was a 26 year old rookie so that kinda takes away some of the impact. It was a small sample size and he’s been very good in that sample size but it just isnt enough
Would you spend a top 10 draft pick on a goalie that would win you a Cup 8 years later?

Yeah, I might have him closer to 5, but he made a good point about his defensive game.
2011 had a really strong draft class, none of the players in top 10 could be considered busts.

Someone who isn't a die hard Flyers fan giving coots the recognition he deserves! the guy was able to shut down malkin as a ROOKIE and he's only 27 and in his prime. not to mention if not for injuries in 15-16 and 16-17 he'd be even better!! he's a great leader and when giroux's time is up, he'll do a great job of mentoring the young stars
I agree with this list. I'm an Oilers fan, and obviously do have a bias towards RNH. But the fact that they didn't involve him in at least the top 10 is crazy! You have him right where I would, which I think is completely fair. One of the most underrated players in the league in my opinion.

Artemi Panarin was available to be drafted in 2011, but was passed over by everybody. If you re-drafted 2011 (or 2010), Panarin would be a top 10 pick.

Yes me either. Nuge is a center. An what people forget to understand is maybe another pick wouldn't of worked out here. We needed C and we had way to many wicked Fwd.
I'm loving all the compliments on Coots. He's the one that made me love hockey. I just bought a shirt that says "Coots for Selke". I'd love to see him win it.
I think Huberdeau is a 2nd overall pick
The current best players in the top ten (according to advanced stats) are kucherov dougie hamilton couturier and huberdeau. Schiefele is good but his defensive game could use a lot of work. Gibson is also good but goalies are always inconsistent

This redraft was pretty much right on. Agreed with everyone in their place.
I would definitely take other players number 1, but I think Oilers fans are happy with Nuge. 61pts in 65 games this season. If that Nuge-Drai-Yamo line keeps it up next season, I think Nuge will have a big year, and show he’s got a lot more to his offence than he did previous years.

FWIW: people that call RNH a bust don’t know what a bust really is. A bust is actually someone that doesn’t make it to the highest level and therefore out of the league. In most people’s terms, a bust is someone who simply doesn’t reach the highest expectations and I think that could just be so unfair. RNH has always been a very solid top 6 forward. He’s a leader of that team as well and when you watch him play, the talent is clearly there. Even though he’s not like your typical #1 pick, he has still made himself an impressive start to his career. Who knows, he may be a very high scorer in the coming years. Wasn’t he top 5 in points since December or something like that?
If I were GM and forced at gunpoint to trade the Nuge, I would take Kucherov, but looking forward, I think it will be interesting...
For team need though, I'd love to have Hamilton or Gibson or Binnington.
Not Couterier or Landeskog or Zibenejad or whomever though. The Nuge had to function on some pretty terrible teams, and to see how he's come through has been awe inspiring.

Whenever anybody puts out a re-draft we always see way more goaltenders move up. There's a reason why we havent had 2 goalies in the top 10 for like 20 years. We'll probably never see it again. other than that, I agree with the picks.

Ryan Johnson we can talk what if’s all we want but I am a massive Debrusk guy. You can tell he’s a heart and soul player for that team. I am very happy the bruins took him.

This is so hard. I'm trying to rank them in my head but like, ranking a forward over a goalie vice versa is so hard. Like yeah kuch #1 but to me the goalie is more important. Sure The oilers wouldnt mind kuch but Gibson.... He's a guy to rely on as long as his back is ok

I will say this, I don't think Kuch is putting up the same points in Edmonton. But it would definitely be interesting to see him play with Gagner or Eberle.
I think Edmonton would've taken Scheifele, just to give Hall that #1 center.
I'd have Coots above Gibson, maybe even top 3. He's the best player on a very good Flyers team and is the favorite for the Selke this year according to the writers' mid-year survey

Gibson is probably there cause he's on a shitty team like the Ducks, and still doing *VERY* well. Couts is the best player on the Flyers...but he's also got help.

I think that William Karlsson is pretty overrated. Great two way game and penalty kill, but his ONLY decent offensive season was the crazy Vegas inaugural season in which everyone's numbers were super inflated. From that point on, he has been quite disappointing offensively based on how many minutes he has been getting

It's hard to believe the Panthers are not a much better team with the talent they've had. Maybe it's hard to get pumped when your fans don't give a damn.
Finally a list that doesnt have Landeskog over Couturier. He isnt a better scorer, is a winger, and is worse defensively. Couturier is better than Gaudreau as well.
Gaudreau has 43 more points in about 180 less games than couturier... numbers don’t lie
@@jimmyroberts552 Well Couturier was used as just a shutdown guy for the start of his career. Couturier was better this year and in 2018. Couturier is exponentially better defensively and the scoring has been the same 2 of last 3 years.

Duke Storm that’s a good point, I just have been a big fan of Landeskogs game ever since he came into the league. Depending on who you ask rankings 3-9 could all be interchangeable

It also helps RNH that he’s playing against teams second and third lines instead of their top one. He’s playing against weaker talent and putting up much better numbers.
